Chapter 54
"Don't worry now, okay? I have to go back now to my work too. Even I want to spend my every hour to be with you, I also have other responsibilities. And so as you. Let's see each other later?" Tzuyu just nod at him, sighing.
After Jeongyeon left, she heard a knock and thought it was Jeongyeon.
"Jeong, I thought-" She stopped when she face the person. She let the person who's a girl to sit at the couch across her and let her talk first.
"Minju-yah, what do you need?"
"Ms. Chou.... I just want to asked if you have news about my bestfriend already. I still can't forget our last conversation and I'm feeling guilty for what happened to her. I feel like, it's my fault."
"I told you, it's not. Don't blame yourself. It's not your fault. You had paid all of it after telling us everything. And I'm thankful you did. I know, your a good person. And, Sana trusted you. She won't feel hurt if not. So, that's why I'm telling you to forget it."
"And about her, still no news. The investigation is still ongoing. We are still waiting for the news." Tzuyu added.

Flashback
(The day when day found about the accident.)
After Tzuyu saw the news, she hurriedly went to the scene and found the car just like what the reported had described. Walking near the spot, a police came to stop her and asked.
"Ma'am, you are not allowed here."
"I am the Guardian of the driver. I know the car. I was the one that gift it to her."
"Ma'am, if you want to know what happened, we're still investigating how this all ended up in this. You can talk to our head." And that's what Tzuyu did that day. She went to talk to the Chief and told them to have some further investigation and do some searching for Sana after. It was the day after that, they confirmed that the driver is not inside the car when it was burned. They start the search operation after that.
Another day passed, still no news about Sana. Minju went to Tzuyu after knowing it. And, out of guilt, she tell them everything that she know. Even the information that was laid to her by Lay about the real Elaine.
"Ms. Chou!"
"Minju-yah, do you need something?" Tzuyu already had an idea but she wants to know if that was the younger will tell her.
"I think, it's my fault now that she is missing." She started. They are inside Tzuyu's office but the latter can't work properly because of the current matter. She's with her friends, Nayeon and Mina.
"And why are you calling her Ms. Chou?" Nayeon suspected her. The younger just shrugged it and continue what she had to do as if no one asked her seconds ago.
"What do you mean? What really happened that day, Minju? Tell me."
"First of all, I want to tell you that I'm not you daughter. I was just told to do this act. Well, I have no idea at first. But, Mr. Chou...." As the mention of the guy's name, Tzuyu lit up her head and look at the younger.
"What about him? Did he do something to you?" She asked concerned.
"My family, I mean my Dad has some debt to him. He threatened me that he will hurt my Mom if I didn't do all his wants. And the same day when me and Sana went to Mom, Mr. Chou told me about your daughter, on who she is? He already know but he don't want your family with Mr. Yoo to be complete again. I can say, he really despise your lover that much. And that same day, before me and Sana separated ways, I mean, she left me because she's mad. She told me that she heard everything that Mr. Chou told me about Elaine. Ms. Chou, Sana.... She is your real daughter."
"Sana...."
"I'm sorry again for lying, Ms. Chou. I hope you forgive me. I didn't want to do this at the first place if I just know the truth. Now, I don't know if I still my bestfriend when she came back."
Even shocked from the revelation, Tzuyu was glad about it. And then, the same day, Jihyo came with the Kim Brothers together with Jinsol. The detective went straight to her to deliver all the results of her investigations. As expected, she also confirmed that Sana is her daughter. This time, they were with their friends together with Jihyo's family. Jeongyeon was also there because Jihyo said so. He was already recovered and now the news came up again.

Weeks later, Irene was on her way home when a car pulled out in front of her. A man who she forgot all the months that passed hopped out the said car and walk in front of her.
"Nice meeting you again, Joo Hyun." He greeted her and smile. But the only thing she felt with him is hatred. She just look at him but didn't let out any words to greet him back.
"Is that how you greet your friend?" The guy asked. She looked at her, telling like, 'are we?' look.
"Come on, Joo Hyun. It's our first meeting again after a months. Can you just come with me and let's talk. We have some business we talked about before that's need to be settled."
"Is that the only reason that you came here? And here i thought, you are in a business trip. What are you doing here?"
"I want to talk to you. Just that. Nothing else."
The woman looked at him as if she's scanning what the guy's thinking at that time. But, unfortunate for her, she can't determine anything. And in the end, she gave in and let the man bring her to somewhere that they could talk freely. She knows, the man wouldn't dare to hurt on whatever reason that she can't even explain.

Lay drive their way to a familiar place for the two of them. Joo Hyun notices it and can't wait to asked the guy after.
"What now, Lay? I know, I told you that I'll help but not in a way that you wanted me to do." She asked, after they got off from the car. The man just stayed silent and walked near the place with the woman trailing behind him.
They are under the bridge, near the river, specifically, the river where they met before. The day they got to know each other and start their friendship.
"This place holds the best memory I had my whole life. Aren't you too?" He asked, looking behind him.
"This is where we met..." Joo Hyun said.
"Yeah, and the day, I became confuse of what I feel for you that time." Lay replied. Joo Hyun looked at him confused. The latter look back at her, smiling.
"But now, after a decades of us being friends. I already figured out everything. I always shows all of my affection to you but your so oblivious of that. Everytime, you and that Jeongyeon are together, I feel hurt. Sound possessive but it's true. I want you to be by my side always. I thought, it's normal for a friend to feel that way, but nope. It isn't. Because.... I already fell for you, Joo Hyun."
The said woman looked at him without saying anything. She don't what to say though. She's also confuse at the same time.
"Your friend with Jeongyeon before. I saw all of it. You're like real brothers if you asks our schoolmates. What happened? Why do you have to do all this things?"
"He betrayed me once. I trust him but he just disappoint me. Now, I have my last alas against him. And I want you to help me to—." Joo Hyun cutted his words.
"You still think, I'll help you after all that happened? Lay, stop it. Whatever your planning. Stop it. It will cause nothing but harm to you soon after."
"I'm with my niece. She is my last bullet for now. I want you know about it." Lay started to stepped out of the place when she spoke again.
"You mean, Minju?"
"No. I don't know if I already told you about it before. I'm with the real Elaine. She will be the one to help me to make that Jeongyeon suffer."
"You're really insane."
"I'm not regretting everything." He said, not facing the girl he's with.
He took some step again but stop as he remembered something.
"I just waste my time talking to you. I guess, I can't change your mind now. You have chosen someone already."
After saying those words in a sad tone, he left the woman.
"You're so oblivious too, Chou Yixing (Lay's real name; but not the Chou.)"
"I did everything to protect you. From being the person you are right now. But I guess it's too late. And confessing to you is also too late." She said, while watching the guy disappears.
