Basil managed to sneak away from Ash for just a few minutes to check on how Joanne was doing. He walked out to the backyard to get some fresh air. Edford informed him that she just got out of the operating room and they see no complications that may arrive in the future. Basil informed Edford to let Joanne stay at the penthouse for a while before coming back here. They needed to sort out the situation with Ash first. He also informed Edford to let everyone else stay at the penthouse before Ash ends up hurting someone else again.
It may sound awful but it was necessary. He was too scared to go and tell them himself in fear that Ash may pop out of nowhere and go ballistic again. As soon as Basil went back inside the home, a familiar yet unpleasant scent hit his senses. He rushed back to Ash's room to find someone else on top of him. Ash was still completely passed out but Basil knew it was because of something else.
"Get the fuck of off him!" Basil growled, pulling the man away from Ash.
The man stared down at Basil, smirking at him with blood dripping down his lips.
"Nice to see you again my beloved," he said as he reached to touch Basil's cheek but his hand was pushed away.
"What did you do to him?" Basil asked.
"Just a little sedative. I heard there was someone special in your home so I came to visit and boy was I right," the man chuckled.
His laughs soon turned into violent coughing as blood was being forced out of his body. Basil watched in horror as the man continuously vomited pools of blood on the floor. Basil quickly turned his attention to Ash. He was still unconscious but the bite mark on his neck started to heal.
He carried Ash out of the room to keep him away from the man. He made sure that Ash was safely secured in his room before going back. Basil found the man laying with his back on the floor, laughing maniacly. He got up from the floor and threw himself on Basil.
"Get the fuck off me, Amos!" Basil growled.
"That's not how you treat your former beloved," Amos teased with a smile as he pulled away.
"You got blood all over me. What the fuck happened to you?" Basil asked.
Amos smiled as he placed his blood-covered hands on Basil's cheeks.
"I can be your beloved again," he said as he gently caressed Basil's cheeks.
"You're fucking delusional to think that," Basil scoffed, pushing Amos away from him again. "You chose to be a vampire, remember?"
"Not anymore," Amos said as he stepped closer to Basil once again. "I came here just to mess with you but your new consort. He's something special."
"What do you know about him?" Basil asked.
"I know nothing about him personally. I didn't even know his blood would do this to me," Amos chuckled. "The others are looking for him too. His scent is intoxicating to everyone so if I were you, I'd be more careful. I got in here way too easily."
"Do what to you?"
"Turn me back to a human."
Basil bursted out laughing. It was absurd. Once you choose to become a vampire, there is no way you'll be human again. Amos sighed and dug his nail into his skin. His blood started to seep out and the scent filled the room. Basil abruptly stopped laughing and watched the blood seep out of the wound but it smelled foul to him, making him nauseous.
"It's not healing. I'm human again, Basil. we could start over again," Amos pleaded.
He stepped closer to Basil and he almost retched as Amos' scent infiltrated his senses.
"Close that fucking wound, Amos. Your blood is making me nauseous," Basil said as he covered his mouth to stop himself from vomiting.
Amos was hurt and confused but quickly washed his wound in the bathroom and covered it with a bandaid he found in the cupboard. He made sure to put pressure on the wound so it would stop bleeding.
"Why aren't you disgusted with the smell of all the blood that I just vomited?" Amos asked as he got back in the room.
"It smells different," Basil replied.
"What's happening? Who is he?" Ash groggily asked as he wobbled back into the room. "Why is there so much blood?"
"Ash, go back to your room. I'll sort this out," Basil said.
Ash's eyes widened in fear and worry as he saw all the blood on Basil's face.
"What happened to you? You're bleeding!" Ash exclaimed as he rushed over to Basil.
"I'm fine. It's not my blood. It's that bastard's blood over there," Basil said, pointing over to Amos.
"Hi, I'm Amos," Amos said while waving at Ash. "Sorry about biting you by the way. Your blood smelled so appetizing it was hard to resist when I finally found you."
"What?!"
"Amos shut up will you!?"
Amos raised his hands in mock surrender.
"Who is he, Basil?" Ash asked again.
Basil sighed and contemplated whether to tell Ash the truth or not. He doesn't know how Ash will react. If he snapped Joanne's wrist in half just for touching his shoulder, he doesn't know what Ash will you if he learns that Amos was his former beloved.
"He's, uhm, my former beloved," Basil said and his fears were confirmed when Ash had already pinned Amos to the wall in a split second.
"Ash let him go!"
"He's a possessive one," Amos chuckled. "I thought you didn't like those Bas-"
Amos' words got stuck in his throat as soon as he saw Ash's eyes had turned white. Basil forcefully pulled Ash away from Amos. Amos was still struck by Ash's eyes.
"The prophecy. It's fucking true," Amos whispered under his breath as he slid down to the floor.
"Ash I need you to calm down," Basil tried appealing to Ash but he was still focused on Amos so he pulled Ash into a kiss.
It worked but Ash quickly started to get in the mood that Basil had to push. His eyes were full of lust as he stared at Basil, waiting for him to kiss him again.
"You've awakened a monster, Basil. They'll kill him once they find where he is," Amos warned.
This got Ash's attention.
"What do you mean?" Ash asked, snapping out of his lustful stupor.
Amos kept his mouth shut. He looked over at Basil, signaling to him that they should talk in private but Basil shook his head seeing how Ash had reacted to learning who was Amos.
"Basil, you told me I wasn't a monster," Ash cried.
"You're not a monster. Amos is just an asshole," Basil said in an attempt to reassure Ash.
"Well, you're not a monster to humans that's for sure," Amos muttered as he stood up from the floor. "But the vampires will hunt you down. Nobody believed it to be true but I can't say that now. If they weren't looking for you before, they definitely are now."
"What the fuck are you talking about?" Basil asked in frustration.
"You'll know what I'm talking about if you stayed in the society but you decided to rebel and live like a 'normal' man. I told you that was delusional but you didn't listen. If you stayed, maybe you wouldn't have awakened him," Amos said, pointing over at Ash.
"What are you saying?" Ash asked.
"Your blood turned me back into a human. I don't know what it will do to pureblooded vampires but I'm going to have a guess and say that we will not be happy to know what it does," Amos chuckled humorlessly.
Ash looked back at Basil. "But Basil?"
"I don't know," Amos muttered.
"My blood, it smells exactly like Ash when I drink from him," Basil said.
"Well shit," Amos cursed. "You know what. I've said all I know. If the council shows up at your door all I can say is good luck."
Basil sighed and rubbed his head in frustration.
"Oh, by the way, could I stay here for a while?"
