lily pov
"So what is it that you have a surprise?" i asked Jieun and looked over to her as she was driving.
"well, i'm having Lia move into my house and sell your house" she tapped the steering wheel while waiting for the light to change and then looked over to me.
i was a bit shocked since it's quite sudden
"i know it's all so quick, but no one is at the house anymore. Lia is usually studying, Yerim is now in college and also still recovering, and you are mostly here since it's close to your school" she looked back at the road since the light changed "it will all be easier. i mean, the university is quite close to my house as well, i'll have Yerim transfered to a private institution so it's also closer" she finished.
"yeah, it makes sense" i looked down at my hands and fiddled with them.
she was starting to see more and more of my families struggles, which isn't a bad thing but it made me nervous.
albeit the fact she did this on her own decision, would it change us?
i know she loves me, but will it change eventually?
"what's on your mind, pretty girl?" Jieun asked and looked over to me. i guess we are stuck in a traffic jam since a car wreck was up ahead.
"nothing much, just..." i was interrupted as Jieun finished my sentence so i looked over to her.
"overthinking?" she gave a sad smile and i nodded.
"yeah" i sighed out. she moved my hair behind my ear and leaned in to kiss my head.
"this changed nothing okay?" she smiled reassuringly. "it doesn't changed the way i see you, the way i love you, or the way i see your family" she held my hand.
i smiled lightly and nodded. "thanks Jieun, i love you" i kissed her hand and held it tighter.
"i love you too pretty girl" she chuckled lightly and looked back to the road since a car honked at her.
"oh gosh, people are so dramatic..he moved 10 feet" Jieun sighed and glared at the car behind her.
i chuckled and smiled at her frustration. it was so cute.
"though however, i have a packed schedule coming up. and a world tour" Jieun said suddenly.
i looked over to her in shock "a world tour?! oh babe i'm so happy for you!" i bounced a little and smiled brightly.
"i'm gonna miss you-"
"but this is huge Ji! i'll definitely miss you but this is so big for you"
"thanks lily star, it means a lot. you are so sweet" she smiled and kissed my hand. "i also have an audition for a show coming up, if you would like to attend it with me?"
"of course! i would love to!" i smiled widely again. this was a big thing for her, and i was genuinely so so happy seeing her being so successful in something she loves to do, and i'll always be by her side to support her as her #1 fan.
"i'm so glad that i got to meet such an amazing person like you Lily, you are so supportive of everything I do" Jieun chuckled lightly and smiled.
"of course, when it comes to someone you love. seeing them happy, brings you the most happiness and joy" i moved my hair to the other side of my neck.
"i can agree with you on that one" Jieun ticked my neck a little.
"hey! i'm ticklish there!" i laughed a little.
"i know you are, that's why i did that" Jieun teased me with a little smirk and held my hand again.
"you little meanie" i smiled even brighter, my cheeks were hurting but i couldn't stop smiling.
"yeah, yeah. i'm sooooo mean" Jieun said sarcastically as she turned into the driveway of her house.
i chuckled and unbuckled my seatbelt.
we both walked into the house and i saw Lia at the counter on the phone. she smiled and waved to me, so i waved back and sat at the opposite side and started on my homework.
Jieun made a snack as i worked on my english homework.
"need any help?" she asked me. i shook my head.
"no, but thank you. i actually really understand it now. and it's super fun!" i showed her my work.
"oh wow! you get to write short stories?" Jieun looked over at what i have written so far.
"yep, and this one is supposed to have a magical twist to it, it's so fun to write" i said and took back the paper to continue to write.
Lia got off the phone and peeked over to my paper.
"Lily is amazing at writing, you should see some over her works" Lia said to Jieun.
"i'm not that good, stop bluffing unnie" i rolled my eyes and shook my head.
"i wish i was bluffing, you might struggle with certain topics but english is always your best when it comes to writing. i mean, argumentative essays are definitely your thing" Lia chuckled and stole a slice of strawberry from my plate.
"well when i believe in a thing, i believe in it all the way, implicitly and unquestionable" i said and chuckled.
"okay what is with you and Yerim always quoting Walt Disney?" Jieun chuckled.
"that's what happens when you love quotes and Disney channel" Lia teased.
"my pinterest is all inspirational quotes, shouldnt i put them to use?" i shrugged my shoulders and popped a strawberry in my mouth.
"i mean, she's got a point there" Lia pointed to me and Jieun nodded in agreement. "just got off the phone with the realtor and she said that i can meet her tomorrow to sign everything"
"oh great! now we can get everything settled!" Jieun clapped in excitement.
i smiled as i wrote. though i have been through a lot, things are finally starting to feel like i belong in a place.
i have friends, a family, and i've found love. everything is falling into place just liked how i dreamed of when i was young.
Jieun pov
i motioned Lia to follow me without Lily noticing.
i took her into the office and shut the door quietly.
"what's up?" Lia asked and sat on the chair. i pulled over my desk chair to sit in front of her.
"i have a world tour coming up and the Seoul dates are already finalized, i wanted to tell my fans about Lily, which of course i will ask her first. but if she agrees to that, i want to propose to her, i wanted to ask your permission to marry her" i blurted out.
Lia took a minute to process it and sighed "well looks like i'm the daddy"
"what the fuck-" i bursted out laughing. it definitely caught me off guard. Lia shook her head and laughed.
"sorry sorry...but yes, you have my permission. i want to see Lily happy, and i know she is really happy with you. she has never been so happy in her life and this is all because of you" Lia took my hands in hers. "thank you Jieun, for everything you do for Lily, and for us. i will happily accept you into the family always" Lia smiled which made me smile and a tear rolled down my face.
happy tears of course.
"thank you Lia, this means so much to me. to be apart of your family as my own. i will never hurt Lily or make her sad" i hugged her really tightly.
we broke from the hug and she wiped my tears. "we better get out there before she realizes how long we were" Lia chuckled and hugged me once more. i nodded and put the chair back, going out the door.
Lily didn't even notice we left so it was perfect timing. i sat next to Lily for a while before cooking dinner, i noticed she had dozed off for a while.
i woke her up when it was time to eat but then helped her to get to sleep right after. i kissed her head as i tucked her in and cuddled with her for a while.
school had been a rough start with all of the school work, im so proud of her for handling it so well.
she is the strongest girl i know, and hopefully the love of my life until the end of time.
