*Avi's POV*

"Where are they?" I ask, texting Scott for the hundredth time.

"Baby, calm down. It takes them a little bit longer." Kirstie says.

"I know... I'm just worried about Scott. They're alone. And this is our first real concert of tour."

"I was just over there and they seem to be doing fine." Kirstie says and laces her fingers with mine.

"I'm gonna warm up." I say and go sit on the couch.

I put my head in my hands and start humming Evolution of Beyonce.

The door slams open.

"We're here! We're late, we know. I'm sorry... I fell." Scott says frantically.

"It's okay. Are you guys okay?" Kevin asks.

"I'm fine." Scott says.

They look broken.

"Okay... well let's get started." Kevin says.

We go out onto the stage.

"Wow... this is huge." Kirstie says in awe.

I smile. She's so cute.

She rubs her head and pinches her eyes shut.

"You okay?" I whisper.

"Yeah, I just have a headache."

I kiss her forehead softly. "Take it easy."

I'm kind of worried about her headaches. She's been having them for a while now and they're becoming more frequent.

"Ready to get started?" Scott asks and I nod.

Scott gives a thumbs up to the guy running our sound.

I get in my spot next to Kirstie and start the first beat.

"Dum. Dum dum dum."

I watch Kirstie out of the corner of my eye.

She sings through the first verse fine, but doesn't seem to be moving a lot.

I keep an eye on her for the song until Mitch's rap.

I see a distant look in her eyes and stop singing.

Everyone looks at me.

"Avi? Are you-"

"KIRSTIE!" Mitch yells and catches her as she falls to the ground.

Esther runs onto the stage.

I hold her head up and carefully place her on the ground.

Kirstie looks at me with her eyes half closed.

"Are you okay baby?"

She nods. "I'm fine. I just got dizzy."

I kiss her forehead. "Do you wanna lay down?"

She nods and I pick her up bridal style.

"I'm gonna go to the dressing room. I'll be back." I say.

I carry her into the dressing room. "Do you feel okay?"

She nods.

I hand her a water bottle. "Drink some water. I'm taking you to the doctor."

"No, Avi. I'm fine-"

"No you're not. This has been happening for a while. I think this is from..."

"Yeah..."

"You don't have to perform tonight-"

"No! I'm performing." She sits up quickly but then lies back down.

"Okay," I sigh. "But you need to rest until showtime. Just warm up your voice if you need to."

"Love you." She says.

"I love you too."

I walk out and back to the others.

"She's okay, she's been feeling a little dizzy. I'm taking her to the doctor tomorrow." I explain.

Mitch nods.

"Well now we can't practice so bye." Scott says and starts to wheel out.

"Yeah... we... have to go." Mitch says and follows him.

I give him a strange look.

Kevin comes over to me. "Are you taking Kirst to the doctor?"

I sigh. "Yeah, I guess."

"I'll go with you, if you want. What's up with Scott and Mitch?"

"I don't know... I'll call them later." I'm gonna go call the doctor."

I walk off and dial the doctor's number.

Can we just... be a normal band?

*Scott's POV*

"I almost can't do this anymore, Mitch!" I say and grab my hair.

"Scott..."

"No! I don't want to be a cripple anymore!"

"Scott, that's not a nice-"

"I don't care!"

Mitch grips the steering wheel.

"We were doing... so good... and now you're freaking out!"

"You're just a child, you don't know what you're talking about!" I yell and he stops the car.

"I am NOT a child... I am... nineteen years old and you will not talk to me like that!" He screams with tears in his eyes.

I'm slightly taken aback by his tone.

We pull up into the driveway.

"I'm leaving." He says and gets out of the car.

"Mitch! You can't-"

"I can. Here's your... stupid chair." He says and puts my wheelchair in front of me.

"Mitch... you're all that I have!" I yell but he slams the door shut.

I try to pull up but fall to the ground.

I wince at the pain and get out my phone.

"Hello?"

"Avi... Avi please come get me!" I wail into the phone.

"Scott! Scott, where are you?"

"At home in the driveway... Mitch... he's leaving."

"Okay, okay I'll be over in five." He says frantically and hangs up.

I try again to pull myself back up and fail.

I can't believe he'd just leave me like that.

I let myself sit there and cry.

I cry until Avi pulls up.

"Scott! Hey, Scott, calm down. It will be okay." He says and pulls me into the car.

"I'll get your chair." He says and unfolds it.

"Thank you." I say and sit in it.

"We're going inside. I need to talk to Mitch." He says and wheels me inside.

Mitch is sitting on the couch.

"Mitch." Avi says.

Mitch jumps and turns around.

Avi rolls me into the living room and cuts off the TV.

"Are you gonna say anything?"

His voice is deep- very deep- and trembling with anger.

"I-"

"I want to talk to you. Go to your room." Avi says.

Mitch gets up and quickly goes to his room, no emotion showing on his face.

"Avi... What about Kirstie? Did you leave her?"

"Kirstie is fine. Are you okay?" He asks softly.

"I'm fine. My leg hurts a little, but it's fine-"

He lifts up my pants leg.

"You have a bruise. I'll get you some ice." He says and goes to get an ice pack.

"Thank you, Avi. But... don't be too hard on him, okay?" I say and put the ice on my leg.

"I won't. I'm just gonna talk to him." He says and takes me into the living room.

He goes into the back bedroom and I hear him yelling at Mitch.

A few minutes later, Mitch comes out crying.

"I'm sorry... I'm sorry, please... I love you!" He cries.

I look down. "You left me out there..."

"I was mad..."

"I know..."

"I need you to understand that I'm still getting used to this chair. It's going to be hard for a while." I say and look into his eyes.

He nods. "I understand."

I tug him down by his shirt and kiss him on the lips.

Avi waves at me and walks out after we kiss.

I giggle. "He doesn't like PDA."

"I know... we need to... go back."

I nod. "We have an hour."

"Okay... let's go." Mitch says and takes me out to the car, puts me in, and drives back to the venue.

I look out the window the whole way there.

Kirstie's not the only one with a messed up head.
