*Sonia's POV*
I put on my beige leather coat and I grab all my paperwork.
Yamper: Owf, Owf.
Yamper scurries behind me, with his tongue out.
Sonia: C'mon, Yamper. I need to drop you off at grandma's and I have a date with Leon.
Yamper does nothing but bark again like he understood what I just said.
We get out of the laboratory and I lock it behind me.
We get into the car and I drive off to Grandma's house.
As we drove up the mountain, I saw Grandma's tiny little house, lit up in the middle of the woods.
I park in the driveway and I get out.
I knocked on the door three times and I opened the door.
Grandma was sat on her rocking chair with a book in her hands.
She looks up through her bifocal glasses at me and scuffs.
Sonia: Hi, Grandma.
Professor Magnolia: Hi, sweetheart. How was your day?
Sonia: It was pretty fine. I am dropping Yamper off now. I will come and pick him up tomorrow and also drop the groceries for you.
Professor Magnolia: Okay.
I kneel down and pet Yamper's furry head.
Sonia: Be good for Grandma, okay?
He barks.
I get up and pull down my coat a bit.
Sonia: Bye, Grandma!
I leave out of the door and I quickly get into my car.
But I hear a ding on my rotom phone.
I pick it up and see a message from Leon.
Leon: Change of plans. Meet me at the restaurant. Love, Leon.
I rolled my eyes and huffed.
I wanted a little more alone time with him.
We are so busy in our hectic life that we donot even have time for ourselves.
I wanted to savour each moment with him.
I should just be grateful that he didn't cancel the date at the last moment.
I reach home, quickly dropping my paperwork on the coffe table, scurrying towards the bedroom.
Once, reaching the bedroom, I change into to my dark full sleeves v-neck top with ruffles on the end of sleeves. I slip into my black high-waisted jeans. I accessorize the look with small, diamond earring and put my hair up in the ponytail.
I grab my black rhinestone clutch and get out of the house. I drive to the restaurant we are meeting at, La Snorlax, an Italian restaurant that opened up last week in Wedgehurst and I have been dying to try it all out since.
I park my car four blocks away from the restaurant and walked towards the restaurant.
I stood in front of the restaurant, waiting.
After waiting for half an hour, I was getting pretty irritated. But then, I recieve a message from Leon.
Sonia: What now?
Leon: Go inside, babe. Order anything. Coming in 15 mins.
I sigh and head inside, the air conditioned air sending chills down my spine. I gape at its cozy ambience as I weaved my way through the brown wooden tables.
I reach upto the counter in the corner and ask the manager. He guides me to a table which is in the very corner of the restaurant.
I sit down and fidget with my nails until the waiter comes along and gives me the menu.
I order for myself and the waiter leaves.
I wait for Leon to show up.
I was so mad at him. This was the only night we were both free and he was not even here.
Half an hour passes by and my food arrives but no trace of Leon.
I eat my meal in silence and I hear a ding.
I see it's Leon and I almost bang my fork down the table.
Leon: sorry babe not able to make it tonight tell the manager to put your meal under my name i will pay it later.
In anger, I donot reply and leave the restaurant. I drive home, furious.
I am not going to talk to him at all.
I reach home and throw my clutch on the couch and loosen my ponytail.
I head to the bathroom and shower quickly.
I get out of the shower and into my pajamas.
I walk into the kitchen to get a glass of water and that's when I hear a car parking into the driveway.
Footsteps approach the door and the doorbell rings.
I open the door, to see Leon, all sweaty and wiped out.
Leon: Hey, Babe.
Sonia: Donot 'hey babe' me.
His face immediately falls down.
Leon: This is about the date, isn't it? I am sorry, Sonia. Chairman Rose made me train for 2 hours extra and I told you I had a date with you but he wouldn't budge an-
Sonia: I donot want to listen to any of it. Come inside, quickly or stay in the cold.
I leave him at the door, standing. He is quick to follow me and tries to hug me from behind.
Leon: I am sorry, I will never do it again.
He says as he places his lips on my neck.
I pull away, still mad at him.
Sonia: For once, we had a free time in our lives and you just... just...
I feel tears prickling my eyes as he comes forward again and hugs me.
Leon: I know, baby. How about to make up for it, I take a day off tomorrow and spend the day off with you at the lab.
I donot answer and he quickly leads me to the bedroom.
I quickly head towards my side and kay down. He changes into his pajamas real quick and lays down, beside me.
*4.06 am*
*Phone rings*
I groan and turn to my other side, toward the bedside table to see my phone screen lit up and ringing.
I shift slightly towards it and grab my rotomphone.
I read the name on the phone screen and immediately immense worry passes through me.
I pick up the phone, to hear Genadma's shaky, scared voice.
Sonia: Grandma? What's wrong-
Professor Magnolia: Someone was here. They robbed the house. Come here, quick.
Sonia: What? How?
Professor Magnolia: Just come here, quick. I have called the police.
Sonia: Okay, Okay. Be there in 5.
I toss the bedsheet onto the floor and shake Leon.
He wakes up, yawning.
Leon: What's wrong?
Sonia: Grandma's been robbed. We need to go there now.
His eyes go wide and he immediately scurries to our wardrobe.
He throws my coat towards me and gets into his.
I quickly put on the keys before grabbing my keys and my rotomphone.
Leon quickly rushes behind me and we lock the door and quickly drive over to Grandma's house.
We open the door, to find Yamper barking continuously and Grandma sitting on the sofa, with her head in her hands.
Sonia: Grandma, Are you okay?
Professor Magnolia: I am fine..but just shaken up.
Leon: Do you know what did they take?
Grandma: They took the Dynamax research papers. They are very important and are kept to be confidential.
Sonia: No!
Leon: Shoot, we are in a huge problem.
Professor Magnolia: I wake up to hear Yamper barking continuously and I go downstairs to find people dressed in all Black, jumping out of my window. I couldn't see their face due to the room being dark.
Soon, Officer Jenny and her team arrives.
