“Why do we close our eyes when we pray, when we cry, when we kiss, when we dream, because the most beautiful things in our life are not seen but felt only by the heart.”

Third person POV.

The morning sun cast long shadows across the Manor’s grand entrance as Aurelia and Alexander returned from their breakfast outing. The air was filled with a sense of familiarity and shared moments. Aurelia turned her gaze towards Alexander, her heart swelling with gratitude for his kindness.

“Thank you, Alexander,” she said softly, her voice carrying a genuine warmth. “That breakfast was delightful. I truly appreciate your thoughtfulness.”

Alexander offered her a faint smile, his eyes gleaming with a mix of affection and something deeper, something Aurelia couldn’t quite decipher. As they stepped into the Manor, the air seemed to grow heavy with anticipation.

Unbeknownst to Aurelia, Alexander had plans of his own. He descended the grand staircase, his footsteps echoing through the empty hallways. Aurelia had gone upstairs, and he seized the opportunity to dismiss the staff, leaving them alone in the opulent estate.

The Mafia don’s voice echoed through the dimly lit room, his tone cold and commanding. He glanced at his staff, a group of loyal cleaning workers, their faces filled with apprehension.

“You all will leave the premises immediately,” he said, his voice laced with an undertone of authority. “There will be no cleaning today. I require privacy.”

Confusion and unease rippled through the staff as they exchanged glances, unsure of the reason behind this sudden order. Nonetheless the staff hurriedly gathered their belongings, casting curious glances at their enigmatic boss.

Moments later, Aurelia descended the stairs, her eyes scanning the vast expanse of the foyer. Something seemed amiss, and she couldn’t put her finger on it. Her gaze met Alexander’s, and she couldn’t help but voice her confusion.

“Alexander, where is everyone?” she asked, her brow furrowing.

A mischievous dark glint danced in Alexander’s eyes as he took a step closer to Aurelia. His voice held a hint of intrigue as he replied, “I’ve sent them away, Aurelia. Just you and me ,love ”

Aurelia’s heart skipped a beat, and a blush tinged her cheeks. She swallowed hard, momentarily taken aback by his words. Gathering herself, she mustered the courage to respond.

“Is there something you need, Alexander?” she asked, her voice betraying a mix of curiosity and uncertainty.

Alexander’s gaze lingered on Aurelia’s lips for a moment before he spoke, his voice laced with desire. “Actually, Aurelia, I was wondering if you’d like to eat take out. Perhaps something Italian? I’ve heard you like it .”

“Sir, if you’d like, I can make you something to eat. I mean, I’m not a professional cook, but I can whip up something decent.”

Alexander raises an eyebrow, intrigued by Anna’s offer. “That sounds wonderful, love . I can’t wait to taste your cooking.”

Anna’s heart flutters with excitement. She leads Alexander to the elegant dining area adjacent to the living room.

“but are you sure Aurelia, you don’t have to do that I can order one of the chefs to come back and make some for us to eat.”

Aurelia’s eyes widened in surprise, but she quickly regained her composure. The thought of cooking for Alexander excited her, and she nodded, a hint of a smile playing on her lips.

“No Of course not, Alexander. I’d be delighted to cook for you,” she replied, her voice filled with newfound confidence.

Together they both head towards the kitchen as Alexander leads aurelia entering the kitchen she is amazed by how big the kitchen is. She stands in a luxurious, state-of-the-art kitchen, filled with gleaming appliances and a large island in the center. She takes in the surroundings, amazed.

“This kitchen is incredible, Alexander. It’s so big and well-equipped. I’ve never seen anything like it before”. she says In awe.

“Thank you”

“Well, you certainly know how to impress. Your attention to detail is incredible. I’m just fascinated by everything you have here. It’s like a dream kitchen.”

“I’m glad you appreciate it. Not many people notice or appreciate these things”.  He says smirking towards her as she examines each and every thing in the kitchen.

“It’s not just about the size or grandeur of the kitchen. It’s the little things, like the way the knives are perfectly arranged and the exquisite choice of cookware. It speaks volumes about your taste and sophistication “

“You have a keen eye. Most people are intimidated by my lifestyle or fail to see beyond the surface. But you… you see more”. He say leaning closer to her and a dark desire uncoils within him as he watches her cheeks develop a red tint.

“I’ve always been drawn to the mysteries hidden beneath the surface. There’s a certain allure in discovering what lies beyond what meets the eye” .she says not meeting his eyes as she speaks trying and obviously failing to hide her red cheeks from him, by the look of his smirk.

“ It’s intriguing to think about the stories this kitchen could tell. The meals that have been prepared here, the conversations held over these countertops. I can’t help but wonder what secrets it holds.” She says as she gazes around the kitchen.

“Ah, love , if these walls could speak, they would reveal tales that would send shivers down your spine. But some secrets are best left untold.” He says with a hint of playfulness and some dark undertone.

“ Secrets can be enticing. They have a way of capturing our imagination and drawing us deeper into the unknown.”

“Perhaps one day, I’ll let you in on some of those secrets. But for now, I appreciate your admiration for my kitchen. It’s a rare quality”. He states lowly leaning even closer her that his breath send chill down her spine .

“I have a feeling you’ll discover more than just stories, love. But be warned, once you enter my world, there’s no turning back.” He continues changing the subject.

“It’s just a small token of my appreciation for everything you do.”

She  blushes, her cheeks turning a rosy shade.

“Well, I wanted to thank you too, Alexander. For everything. So, I thought I could make you a special lunch.” She says ducking her head down

Alexander chuckles softly, his eyes filled with adoration

“That sounds wonderful, Aurelia. I can’t wait to taste your cooking.”

She gets to work, expertly chopping vegetables and marinating meat, her movements graceful and confident. The atmosphere is filled with laughter and the sweet aroma of spices. Time seemed to slip away as Aurelia busied herself in the kitchen, channeling her passion into creating a sumptuous Italian feast. The aroma of herbs and spices filled the air, a tantalizing prelude to what awaited them.. She moves around the kitchen with grace, her eyes occasionally darting toward the dining area where Alexander waits patiently.

Finally, the lunch was ready, and Aurelia carried the dishes to the elegant dining room.

Alexander sits at the head of an elegant dining table, a little smile of anticipation on his face. Aurelia walks in, carrying a beautifully presented plate of food.

“I hope you like it, sir. Bon appétit!”

Alexander takes a moment to appreciate the dish, his eyes widening in surprise.

,” this is amazing! You really Know how to cook. Aurelia .”

He takes a bite, savoring the explosion of flavors in his mouth. Alexander looks at her, his expression softening.

“You’re welcome, sir. I’m glad you enjoyed it.”

As they savored the flavors of the meal, conversation flowed effortlessly between them. Alexander leaned back in his chair, his gaze fixed on Aurelia. His voice, low and seductive, broke the silence.

“Aurelia, my dear, you have no idea how enchanting you look when you’re in your element,” he murmured.

She blushed, her eyes meeting his with a mix of curiosity and desire. Her heart raced, and the air seemed to crackle with unspoken tension.

“You flatter me, Alexander,” she whispered, her voice barely audible.

Their shared laughter and stolen glances painted a picture of a blossoming connection. Alexander was captivated by Aurelia’s every word and movement, his heart longing for something more than what their professional relationship allowed.

. The joy and affection between them are palpable, unaware of the secrets that lie beneath the surface.

Little do they know, this innocent romance is about to collide with the hidden world of the Mafia, testing their bond and the trust they have in each other.

[NIGHT: 5:00 PM] 3  HOURS BEFORE THE BALL]

The luxurious room exuded an air of quiet anticipation as the Mafia Don, paced across the Persian rug, his gaze fixed on the ornate double doors. Tonight, was the day of the ball, he had asked aurelia to meet him in his study.
“Tell me Aurelia,” Alexander  spoke, his voice a low rumble that resonated with desire and uncertainty. “do you have any dress , for tonight’s ball .”

Aurelia‘s eyes widened, momentarily startled by the question. She had been so consumed with her duties that the prospect of attending the event had slipped her mind entirely. The sudden realization of her oversight left her flustered and vulnerable.

“I… I didn’t have time to find a dress,” she stammered, her voice a hesitant whisper. “I’m sorry,  Alexander. I didn’t think I would be attending.”

“But why”

“Alexander,” she began, her voice soft yet resolute, “I appreciate the gesture, but I cannot attend the ball. I don’t have a dress, and I wouldn’t fit in with that crowd.”

A flicker of disappointment danced across Alexander’s face, quickly masked by a veil of determination. He closed the distance between them, his eyes locking with hers, as he reached out to gently take her hands.

“oh darling ,” he spoke, his voice a low, persuasive rumble, “you really have no idea about how much beauty and the allure you possess.”

Isabella’s gaze flickered with surprise and curiosity. The idea of stepping into a world she had only seen from the periphery enticed her, though fear held her back.

“But Alexander,” she whispered, her voice tinged with doubt, “I don’t belong in that world. I’m just your secretary. What will people think?”

“It’s okay. You don’t have to worry about anyone saying anything. And as for the dress. I have already bought a it for you to wear.” He said as he went towards the velvet  pedestal that was in the corner, which Aurelia seem to have noticed now. He went towards it and lifted the veil which was covering something on it .

Her eyes widening at the sight of the exquisite blood red ball gown elegantly displayed on a velvet-covered pedestal. The fabric shimmered like molten silver, the delicate lacework leaving her breathless. Yet, apprehension tugged at her heart, for she knew the price that accompanied such extravagance.

“Alexander, I… I can’t accept this,” Aurelia stammered, her voice laced with uncertainty. “It’s far too expensive. I could never repay you.  this is too extravagant,” she protested, her voice barely above a whisper. “I cannot possibly wear something so… costly.”

Alexander turned, his eyes piercing hers with a mix of determination and tenderness. “Aurelia, you deserve nothing less than the finest. Consider it a gift, a token of my appreciation for your loyalty and dedication .”

She looked at the unveiled dress again, her heart pounding with trepidation. “Alexander, I appreciate your gesture, but I can’t accept such extravagant gifts. It’s too much.”

He moved closer, his gaze unwavering. “Isabella, tonight’s event is crucial. We must make a statement, show our power. This gown is not just a gift; it’s a necessity.”

His words, though gentle, held an undercurrent of authority that left little room for argument. Her protests remained suspended on her lips as she reluctantly accepted his generosity, her fingers trembling as they grazed the fabric.

“However,” Alexander continued, a hint of a smile playing at the corners of his mouth, “I’ve made arrangements for a makeup artist to help you prepare for the evening. You must be impeccable, Isabella, as my companion.”

Her eyes widened in surprise. The thought of being meticulously adorned, transformed into a vision of grace and allure, unnerved her. She had grown accustomed to her simplicity, the mask she wore to navigate their clandestine world.

“Alexander, I’m not sure I’m comfortable with all of this,” she confessed, her voice filled with a mix of fear and apprehension. “I don’t want to attract unnecessary attention.”

A flicker of disappointment shadowed Alexander’s gaze, though he masked it quickly, his expression once again inscrutable. “Isabella, tonight you are going into a world where appearances matter. Allow yourself this indulgence. Trust me.”

His words hung in the air, a barely there plea wrapped in an order. She reluctantly nodded, silently acknowledging the weight of his words. She understood the precarious dance they engaged in, where masks were both literal and metaphorical.

[ NIGHT TIME 7:00PM 2 HOURS BEFORE THE BALL ]

As the nightfall deepened, the makeup artist arrived, her expertise evident in her confident stride and the array of brushes adorning her kit. Isabella reluctantly submitted to the artist’s skillful touch, the transformation beginning as each stroke of color highlighted her natural beauty.

She helped Aurelia with the dress and then ordered her assistant  do open the boxes which contained makeup and hair accessories.

When the artist finally stepped back, “Look in the mirror darling”

[ Her makeup, hairstyle and accessories]

As she looked towards the mirror she saw a vision of ethereal elegance. The ball gown clung to her like moonlit mist, every detail meticulously chosen to accentuate her allure.

She looked towards the mirror and was shocked this was her never in all her life has she ever looked this beautiful.  Tears gather in her eyes that she was barely able to stop.

“ thank you” she said the voice barely above a whisper as she was still awed by her appearance. For she has had nothing in her life that required her to dress up to her hearts desire.

As she descended the staircase, the sound of her heels clicking against the marble steps echoed through the quiet hallway. Aurelia’s gown hugged her curves, accentuating her elegance and grace. The fabric shimmered under the gentle illumination, reminiscent of a starlit night.

Alexander stood at the bottom of the staircase, his usually composed demeanor shattered in an instant. His dark eyes widened as they took in the sight before him. The blood red dress clung to Aurelia’s form, the color contrasting beautifully against her fair skin. It was as though she had stepped out of a dream, a vision of unparalleled beauty.

*i couldn't find a suit that matched her dress so if you guys don't like it just use your imagination.*

For a moment, Alexander forgot about his role as a powerful Mafia don. He was simply a man, captivated by the enchanting woman who had graced his mansion. His usual charm and confidence faltered, leaving him momentarily speechless.

She descended the final step and stood before him, a smile gracing her lips. “Good evening, Alexander,” she greeted him politely, oblivious to the effect she had on him.

Alexander found his voice, though it came out in a hushed whisper. “Good evening, Aurelia,” he managed to reply, his eyes still locked onto her radiant presence.

He extended his arm, a gesture of invitation. “Shall we?” He asked, his voice filled with a newfound vulnerability. He hoped she would accept, wanting nothing more than to spend the night in her captivating company.

Her cheeks flushed with a delicate pink as she placed her hand on his proffered arm. “I would be honored,” she replied softly, her gaze meeting his. There was a warmth in her eyes, a connection that neither of them fully understood.

With that they both ventured out of the mansion as he escorts aurelia through the mansion's opulent corridors, finally arriving at a sleek, black luxury car parked in the driveway.
