✩ OCEAN EYES ✩
There were once two eighteen-year olds, Ariel and Nixie, they were swimming with the tide across the waters, Nixie was searching for more things to collect for her bag, Nixie was the youngest by a just couple months apart from Ariel.
Ariel had beautiful brown skin, with orange-like ginger hair, with dreads in them, and with a beautiful long tail that had colors of sage-green, light pink, teal-blue, and bright-blue on it, her top had lots of beautiful shades of purple and navy-blue, and her eyes were a beautiful dark brown color.
Nixie had skin that had a nude-like color, with raven-colored long straight hair, her tail was like Ariel's, but the colors were a navy blue, grey, and a heavenly white color at the ends, the middle part had spots of black on it, her top was also like Ariel's, it had the colors of gold on the edges, and in the middle, it had the colors of blue and purple, and her eyes were a hazel color.
As they were swimming, Nixie then stopped humming and slightly gasped, and stopped to looked at what caught her eye.
It was a sort of tube that had glass at the end of it.
"We aren't supposed to be this far from the palace, Nixie, let's go back." Ariel said.
Flounder was also with the two teenagers, because he couldn't explore on his own.
"Ooh, how does what work?" Nixie said whilst trying to find how the tube worked.
"C'mon, Nix, please?" Flounder said as Nixie put the thin end up to her eye.
"Oh, Flounder, stop being such a guppy." Nixie said.
"I-I'm not a guppy!" Flounder protested.
The three then swam over a hill, and then stopped.
"Okay, I think we've gone far enough." Ariel said. "I don't know why you wanted me to go with you."
"Because, you're my favorite sister."
"Don't think you're getting out of this by trying to make me happy and change my mind, you know father's going to kill you if he finds out you snuck out again."
Nixie rolls her eyes, then puts the tube up to her eye again, and as she was looking through it, something else caught her eye.
"Wait..what is that?" She says "I've never seen that one."
Nixie then takes the tube and puts it in her bag.
"Come on." She said.
"Uh-uh, I'm going back, we're not supposed to explore those, you know this!" Ariel says.
"Fine, you can go back." Nixie says as Ariel swims back to the palace.
"N-Nixie, wait for me!" Flounder said. "You know I can't swim that fast."
"Oh, look at all that." Nixie said. "They must have used the ship for battles or something."
"Yeah, great, now let's get out of here." Flounder said, trying to get the two to go back to the palace.
"Getting cold fins?" Nixie said.
"Who? Me? No way!" Flounder said.
"Good." She said. "Then you can stay out here and watch for sharks."
"Okay, fine." Flounder said. "Wait, sharks?! Nixie, wait!"
A dark then shadow slowly passed him unknowingly.
The two kept swimming inside the ship trying to get a better look.
"Do you really think there could be sharks in here?" Flounder said.
"Oh, Flounder..." Nixie said in annoyance.
She swam over to what caught her eye once more.
"Look at this!" She exclaimed. "It's the smallest trident I've ever seen!"
She then turned to Flounder.
"I'm King Flounder, Lord of the Seven Seas!" She said in a low tone, while the two of them laughed at her joke.
"I wonder why a human would need one that size." Flounder said.
"I bet Scuttle would know, she always does." Nixie says, as the three then swam toward a cloaked object.
She then took off the cloak as Flounder yelped at his reflection.
"Will you relax?" Nixie said, giggling. "It's just your reflection, calm down, nothing is going to happen."
Nixie then looked in the mirror and saw something behind Flounder, it was a shark.
"Flounder, look out!" She shouted.
Flounder then yelped and quickly swam out of the way before the shark got to him, the shark then swam around trying to get to him, Nixie and Flounder both swam away, and as they thought they were safe for about half a second, the shark then came out under the floorboards and began chasing Nixie out, leaving flounder in the sand.
"Flounder!" Nixie shouted.
She then had an idea, she swam to the top of the ship and pushed a barrel down to distract it from getting flounder.
The two then swam away and hid in a part of the ship where the shark saw them, or so he thought, it was inly their reflection tricking him into smashing into the ship and getting stuck.
The two quickly made it out safely before the shark saw them.
They then managed to swim far away from the ship.
"You okay, Flounder?" Nixie asked.
"Sure, I mean, I've seen bigger sharks, just, you know, you can't back down." He said. "You gotta show 'em
who's in cha-" He then screamed as Scuttle dived underwater.
"Come back, Flounder, it's just Scuttle." Nixie said giggling.
Scuttle went back up for a couple seconds then came back down.
"Nixie, hey kid, how ya doin'?" Scuttle said to the two. "Don't mind me, I was just grabbing a snack."
"Scuttle, we found more treasure." Nixie said.
"Yeah, we went into this sunken ship, and it was really creepy."
"Human stuff? A-ha! Alright, let me see." Scuttle says.
"Any idea what this is?" Nixie asked, handing Scuttle the small trident.
"Wow! This...wow, this is very, very unusual." She said.
"What, what is it?" Nixie asked once more.
"It's a...it's a dinglehopper." Scuttle said.
"Dinglehopper?" Kaia said.
"Yeah, humans use these babies, to style their hair, you just, give it a little twirl, a little...yanking- Got some pieces with it, and you're left with a pleasing conflagration of hair that humans go nuts for."
"Really? I'd love to see that." Nixie said, taking the dinglehopper and twirling her hair on it.
"You can't." Flounder says.
"Flounder." Kaia said.
"Your father still won't let you go to the surface, huh?" Scuttle asks.
"No, it's forbidden." Nixje says. "He thinks all humans are...barbarians." She says, taking the dinglehopper out of her hair.
"Oh, they're not so bad, unless you're a coconut, they hate coconuts, that's right, they get a hold of one, they'd smash it to pieces just like that, it's weird." Scuttle says.
"And, what's this?" Nixie said, taking another object from her bag.
"Nixie!" A voice shouted, causing Kaia to jump and accidentally drop the object.
"I swear I go 'cross the whole ocean looking for that child...Nixie!-" The object then hit him on the head as he let out a yelp in pain.
"Sebastian!" Nixie exclaimed. "Sorry about that!"
"Nixie, what are you doing up there? Wasting your time with this loon bird who can't tell swimming from flyin'?" Sebastian says.
"Hey." Scuttle said.
"I suppose you have completely forgotten tonight's the Coral Moon."
"Oh, no.." Nixie said.
"Oh, yes, The gathering of King Triton's daughters, minus one." He said.
"My father is going to kill me..." Nixie said. "Sorry, Scuttle, got to go." Flounder and Nixie both swim to the palace, unknowingly being watched by two eels.
"Yes...hurry home, Princess, we wouldn't want to be late for daddy's gathering now would we? Perhaps I'll join them...oh wait, what a shame, it seems that big brother forgot to invite Auntie Ursula to the party...Again! Oh, I should be the one throwing the parties, not waiting on an invitation. The feasts we had when I lived at the palace, and now, look at me, family pariah, wasting away to practically nothing, banished and exiled, driven to madness in this dim little crevice for 15 long years! While daddy and his spoiled little mer-brats celebrate The Coral Moon...Well...I'll give him something to celebrate... I may have finally found daddy's weakness...Yes...Raven's fascination with humans might be just the opening I've been waiting for..."
{FINALLY MAKING THIS AHHH also the reason ursula called nixie "raven" is bc of her hair color if you guys are confused a bit but im super exited to write this like omg
also i deeply apologize if saying ariel had "beautiful brown skin" sounds like fetishizing but i am NOT trying to fetishize anyone in this i just thought it was good for detailing her character, i thought halle was absolutely amazing in the movie and deserves all the love she gets from it} - devikah <3
