A little bunny
Squealed at me,
Utterly horrified;
Clutching her mommy's skirt.
Red, sticky substance
Seeped through my dress,
Trickling down my feet.
Thousands of tiny hands
Clenched my abdomen's frame,
Valiantly fighting to rend it apart.
Arrows and darts gored my side.
Kangaroo-strong feet kicked to be released.
Gut inflated: fat and stiff.
The most dreaded came forward,
Flung herself toward me.
'Twasn't a mere visit.
She hadn't the intent to talk.
She had come to leave me lame,
And crippled for nought.
