Yebin turned her phone off and shoved into a pocket of her purse. She ended wearing a subtle pair of white shoes to match her bag and left her hair tied up. The blonde was faded, and she made a mental note to make an appointment to dye it back.
Her mind kept replaying the limited interactions she'd had with Keita, wondering how she missed his uninterested and distracted replies.
Sighing, Yebin inspected her attire in the mirror at the bottom of the stairs, just a few feet away from the front door. Taerae offered to pick her up, and though her mind felt foggy with emotion, she did her best to push it aside.
She tried not to think about Keita, or his girlfriend, or the fact that she was breaking her promise to Park Hanbin. She was once again overthinking and confusing herself, and Yebin pressed her fingers to her eyes as she took a breath to calm herself.
"You're going on your dream date with a nice guy," she told herself. "Stop thinking about other people and focus on this."
Her phone dinged with a message, and Yebin fished it from her purse to see that Taerae had arrived. She smiled when she read that he didn't want to ring the doorbell in case her mom was asleep, and Yebin figured she must have mentioned her busy hours and messy sleep to him in the past.
Opening the front door, the girl smiled upon finding Taerae standing a couple steps away from her, his phone in his hands and an almost dazed expression on his face.
"Hi," he said, and Yebin nearly blushed when she realized how shy he appeared. "Hi," she smiled back, her lips dropping when Taerae held something out to her.
"I, um, didn't know what you liked, but I didnt want to show up empty handed either, so—"
Yebin cut him off by taking the white rose from his hand and pulling it to her chest. "I love it. You didn't have to get me anything, though."
Taerae's smile turned more boyish than shy. "I wanted to."
When it grew quiet between the two, Taerae extended a hand toward the car. "Ready to go?"
Yebin smiled and twisted the stem of the flower between her fingers. "Ready."
