"Unghh!"
Nami's head snapped towards the sound and she found her captain jumping off the Sunny's figurehead, his shoulders slumped and steps heavy. The navigator's eyes followed the young man as he moved about the deck, bumping into a sleepy Zoro, barely apologizing or even recognizing his actions.
"Something wrong Captain?" Zoro asked lazily and proceeded to sit up straight.
"Don't sleep in the middle of the deck." Luffy snapped and was on his way to the kitchen, screaming repeatedly about food.
"The hell?" Zoro echoed the words going through Nami's own head and the two made brief eye contact.
"Wait outside! There's still time till lunch!" Sanji's voice cut through the moment and both Zoro and Nami looked at the cook kicking Luffy out of the kitchen.
"But I'm hungry now!" Luffy shouted back and when no response came his way, he stomped his foot with a loud enough 'stupid Sanji and his stupid eyebrow.'
"Luffy, is something wrong?" Nami asked, beckoning the boy. Zoro was keeping an eye from afar in case Luffy snapped at Nami too.
"I wanna punch something! And I'm hungry! And we've been sailing for so long! When are we reaching an island?" Luffy complained, irritability clear as day.
"There is still a few days before we enter an island's magnetic field." Nami answered. "Why don't you spar with Zoro while Sanji-kun makes lunch?" The mentioned swordsman sat up at his mention, eager to see how Luffy would answer.
"No, I don't wanna fight with swords." Just then a flock of birds flew overhead, the noise subduing any other sound for a while. "Shut up you stupid birds!" Luffy shot his rubber arm up towards the birds in an attempt to quieten them.
"I think it's time we made a call." Nami jumped out of her seat at the appearance of Robin's mouth on the arm rest of her chair. Luffy was busy fighting birds.
"Guess so." The orange haired woman sighed and went to gather her sea charts, taking them with her to make the said call.

"Why are we anchoring in the middle of the day? I wanna get to the next island, now!" Luffy complained going to the helm and hanging off Jinbe. "Why are we stopping?!"
"Luffy! Come here!" Nami called from the railing of the upper deck, sparing Jinbe from having to pacify the captain.
"Why?!" Luffy shouted back.
"Just come here!" The captain made a face but shot himself towards his friend nonetheless. "Look down there." Nami pointed at a spot in the blue ocean.
"It's just the sea Nami."
"Wait for it."
Luffy rolled his eyes, impatient but since it was Nami showing him something, it was probably worth the wait so the boy kept his eyes glued to the gentle waves until there began a disturbance below the surface of the sea, followed by bubbles rising up along with something... yellow.
"TORAO!" A wide grin split Luffy's face and he jumped off the railing to the still emerging submarine.
"You're going to-!" Nami's warning was too late for the eager ears of her captain, who had slipped on the wet metal of the Heart Pirates' deck and landed himself in the sea.
"That idiot..." Law muttered shaking his head, appearing on deck, Bepo already diving to search for his captain's boyfriend in the blue sea.
"I thought I'd die..." Luffy coughed, tears in his eyes once he was on the Polar Tang's deck.
"When will your rubber ass learn some self-preservation?" Law scolded, poking the rubber forehead with the end of Kikoku's sheath.
"Toraoooo!" Apparently Law being near him was enough for Luffy to spring up from the sea water puddle of his making. The younger wrapped his arms around the older captain half a dozen times, rubbing his cheek against the other's.
"At least dry yourself first!" The surgeon griped pulling at the back of Luffy's shirt to make some distance.
"Give it up Torao-kun, it's no use." Nami called, grinning.
"You owe me onigiri for a whole year!"
"Fair bargain!"
"Are you getting off?" Law asked his monkey of a boyfriend in a low voice.
"Nuh-uh." Luffy said and wrapped himself tighter against the doctor.
Law sighed and walked stiffly back in the sub. Once the door to his quarters was closed, the Hearts captain tapped Luffy's elbow, he thought it was the elbow, to get the boy off him. "Down."
"Noooooooooo." Luffy pouted.
"I can't breathe." Law lied and Luffy was off him immediately. "ROOM." The moment the blue sphere surrounded the men, Luffy realized his boyfriend had lied and what was to come. In the next few seconds, Luffy's clothes were on the ground and he himself was teleported to the bathroom, Law had taken off his own shirt and now grabbed a showerhead.
"Don't do it Torao!" Luffy bargained.
"You're not touching anything in my room without taking a bath, I don't want that sea water smell anywhere."
"I promise-bluehuhueuehe!" Luffy's words got lost when Law started the water on his face, drenching him then brushing the boy down like a dog. "Even Nami isn't this mean!" Luffy complained when the watery assault was finally over.
"I have some shirts that I'm willing to give to you, as compensation." Law smiled at the way Luffy's eyes lit up and the boy got off the bathroom floor, rushing to take the clothes Law was handing him. Law's shirt was a bit big on him but the shorts were perfect. "Sit down." Once Luffy had seated himself on the bed, Law rubbed a towel in his head to dry the hair.
"Puru puru puru puru~"
Both the boys looked at the den den mushi on Law's desk and the surgeon abandoned his task to answer the call.
"Katcha!"
"Yes?" Law asked ringing the mouthpiece close to him.
"We're going to start sailing now, Bepo and Shachi roped the submarine to Sunny so you guys are following. Some of your crew are on board here so don't worry about that." Nami informed.
"That's fine. Add another two months of onigiri for cleaning your captain for you."
"Three weeks!" Nami negotiated.
"Fine."
Law put the snail to sleep and went back to Luffy, who was curiously listening to the entire exchange. After deeming Luffy's hair dry enough, Law put the clothes and towel aside and sat beside his boyfriend, bringing him in a hug and falling back on the bed. The older felt something was off with the way Luffy was pulling himself impossibly closer.
"What happened?" Law asked in the silence of the room.
"What do you mean?" Luffy asked in return, confused. His words were already sounding lazy from sleep that Law knew would pull him under any moment.
"Nami-ya called the other day and said you were being an asshole to everyone."
"I was?" Luffy raised his head to look at Law.
"That's what she said, that you were irritated and anxious, and annoyed, complaining about everything, lashing out."
"I dunno... but I'm ok now." Luffy buried his head in Law's neck again, kissing there.
"And why is that?"
"Because you're here."
Law sighed. "So if I hadn't met you today, you'd still have continued being a bitch?"
"Maybe." Luffy took a breath and decided to answer fully. "I had a dream about Ace and that made me sad, then I was angry and I wanted to punch things but there was only the sea and then we had been sailing for so long and I hadn't seen you for so long! I missed you and then Sanji kicked me out of the kitchen, then I was hungry and I wanted to see you but I didn't wanna tell Nami to go off course for me but I really really wanted to see you... I don't know what I'm saying."
"It's ok. I get it." Law brought Luffy closer now and kissed as much of his face as he could see. "You were just touch starved, it happens."
"What's that?"
"As embarrassing as it is to say out loud, you were craving my touch."
"Guess I was, since I'm ok now." Luffy laughed. "You feel that too?"
"I control it better."
Luffy hummed, eyes closing and sleeping starting to pull him under. "Wanna spar later? Hand-to-hand?"
"Still got those seastone necklaces?" Law asked in return, feeling sleepy himself.
"Yapp."
"Let's do it then."
