It had been hours since Jennifer's gym battle against Marius and Blossom after eating dinner with Roy and Diamond. Jennifer was lying in bed looking at the ceiling with Starla curled up at the foot of the bed, breathing softly.
"Ugh," Jennifer groaned quietly as she sat up in bed and carefully got up, walked over to the window, and looked out at the stars.
"Meow?" Starla questioned, yawning as she walked on over toward Jennifer.
"Sorry, Starla, I didn't mean to wake you up," Jennifer said softly, apologizing so she didn't wake up Diamond as well.
"Meowth," Starla said, looking at Jennifer with narrowed eyes.
"It's nothing. Go back to sleep. I'm going to see if mom's still awake," Jennifer said, walking towards the door to head out of the room to call her mom if she hadn't gone to sleep yet.
"Meow," Starla said with a shake of her head and got back on the bed sending Jennifer one last glance as she left the room.

Jennifer was sitting in front of the video phone as it rang for a few minutes until her mom appeared on the screen wearing a pink nightgown and a pink towel wrapped around her hair.
"Ah, Jen, what are you still doing up? Aren't you tired after your gym battle" Jessie asked, taking off the towel and revealing her waist-length magenta hair.
"I couldn't sleep; sorry if I disturbed you getting ready for bed," Jennifer said.
"Oh, Jen, you never disturb me your, my precious Angel," Jessie said smiling."Now what bothering you?" She asked.
"It's just tomorrow entering the Sunēkuuddo City Pokemon contest," Jennifer said.
"Ah, your feeling nervous about your very first Pokemon contest," Jessie commented.
"Yeah, it's just that it's my first contest, and I remembered how you did in your Pokemon Contest and grand festival," Jennifer said, placing her fist against her cheek.
"Hey Jen, you're going to be fantastic tomorrow, and even lf you don't win like your Gym battle, I will be proud of you," Jessie said."Now get to bed, and I be watching you with Persain and the rest of the family. Your dad took tomorrow off."
"Right; good night Mom, and thanks for believing in me despite my main goal being in the Sola league but. I decided that it couldn't hurt to give it a try," She said.
"Of course, I love you and want you to follow your dreams, unlike how I gave up on one until your father gave me hope to try again," Jessie said, smiling.
"Right," Jennifer said, ending the call as she stood up and headed back to her and Diamond's room to sleep for the evening.

The following day everyone was gathered in their seats, waiting for the contest to start, including Roy, who was close to the front holding Jennifer's egg.
While the contestant like Jennifer we're in the dressing room getting ready for the contest. Jennifer was standing in front of a mirror, wearing a beautiful white dress with red bows on the front and back. She also had on white boots, and she tied up in a bun.
"Alright, let's do this," Jennifer heading to the waiting room with the other contestants.
Soon as she got there a few minutes later, she saw a fair young skin with blue eyes and short and curly tawny wearing a red and black dress appear on the screen.
"Greetings and a warm welcome to Coordinators and contest of all ages," She said, smiling."You came here for one exceptional reason and to see who will home the fabulous Sunēkuuddo City ribbon. You have all been waiting patiently. Now it is time to be rewarded!"
The stage lights flashed on, signaling that it was time to begin the Pokemon Contest.
"We're at your live located at the stage located in Sunēkuuddo City as the camera pan away from the stage to show a large round building with the same redish brown facilities with black patches as the other buildings here in Sunēkuuddo City and red roof."The city know for trading and spicy food."
"Where is Diamond?" Jennifer questioned, looking around for her friend.

Diamond was sitting in the dressing room muttering with herself trying to tie her hair back with a bow but wasn't having any luck.
"Come on, it's almost time, and I can't even tie my hair back. This is stupid, and Jen is already gone and can't help me," Diamond muttered in annoyance.
"Here, I help you," A girl around the same age with beautiful neck-length blonde hair and olive green eyes wearing a red suit with a yellow lightning bolt, light blue pants, and flat black shoes said as she tied the bow around Diamond's hair into a ponytail.
"Oh, thank you. My name is Diamond," Diamond said.
"My name is Sammy," The girl introduced."So is this your first Pokemon Contest?" She asked.
"Yeah, how did you know?"
"You are giving off first-time vibes," Sammy replied.
"That's just lovely," Diamond said with an embarrassed sigh."So have you been in any contest?" She asked.
"I have," Sammy replied.
"Cool, have you won any ribbons yet?" Diamond asked.
"Two contests and one ribbon," Sammy said.
"Amazing, can I see it?"
"Yeah, here," Sammy said, heading to Diamon, a green case with one hand as she continued to tie Diamaond's hair back.
Diamond opened the case to see a beautiful shiny pink tied to a heart-shaped golden metal.
"It's beautiful."
"Alright, all ready to go," Sammy said, done with Diamond hair.
"Thank you. Now im going to win a ribbon," Diamond said, standing up to peek at her hair and that was looking great with her blue dress.
"Oh really?"
"I'm sure of it!" Diamond said, smiling.
"Well then, hope to see you in the finals," Sammy said, leaving the dressing room.
"She thinks I will make it to the finals, and it is my first contest," Diamond said, looking at the floor, blushing at her behavior and confidence.

Meanwhile, in the rafters...
Roy was sitting in the rafters holding the egg as he listened to the announcer on stage.
"So let's get down to busy and find out who will be leaving with the Sunēkuuddo City ribbon and its beauty," The announcer said, holding up a beautiful teal ribbon with a golden diamond piece of metal. "Add four more ribbons to this, and you can participate in the Grand festival!"
"Alright, here we go. It's almost time," Roy said.
"I take it both of the girls are entered," Oswald said, sitting next to Roy.
"Oh, you, the boy from the gym," Roy commented."Yeah, they're both in the Pokemon Contest."
"I figure she was only in Gym battles," Oswald said.
"That's why she's a Pokemon trainer, but she is mainly doing it for her mom.
"Really?"
"Time to introduce the judges," The announcer said."And here they are," She said, pointing toward a pink curtain open where two men and Nurse Joy stood."The Pokemon contest director Mr. Contesta.
The man wearing a red suit then walked on forward."Thank you. Im looking forward to seeing real teamwork between the coordinator and their Pokemon.
The crowd then started cheering loudly.
"And now the head of the Pokemon Fan Club, Mr. Sukio!"
The short man wearing a black suit said," Remarkable is the word thanks."
"And finally, Sunēkuuddo City Nurse Joy!"
"Wow, when it comes to seeing all the splendid Pokemon, I can't wait," Nusre Joy said, waving to the crowd.
"I believe that we all relate to that," She said."Oh, right, my name is Rhian, and i'm looking forward to being your announcer of ceremonies and thanks so much for coming! Now time for the first round, where Pokemon, one by one, take their positions on the performance stage!"
Roy nodded his head.
"The purpose of this round is to see how Pokemon coordinators make their Pokemon shine, showing off power and beauty!"

Back in the waiting room...
Jennifer sighed in relief as she saw Diamond run into the waiting room.
"There you are," Jennifer said.
"I was having trouble tieing my hair, but Sammy, a girl I met, helped fix it for me," She said, looking around for Sammy."Strange, I don't see her anywhere."
"Diamond focus," Jennifer said.
Diamond nodded."She said she was going to compete."
"And now for contestant number one," She said as a pink curtain lifted up slightly."It's Sammy!"
"That her on stage!" Diamond said with a smile.

Back in the rafters...
Roy and Oswald watched as Sammy took out her Pokeball from a yellow capsule and threw it.
"Eevee showtime!"
The Pokeball open a barge of hearts surrounding around Eevee.
"Now, Swift!" Sammy commanded.
"Eevee let a cry as it swung her tail and hit the hearts breaking into tiny pieces.
"Tha performance shows the beauty of Eevee's fluffy tail and power," Rhian announced.
"She definitely knows Pokemon contests," Roy commented.
'"It's a perfect performance for a cute Pokemon like Eevee," Oswald said.
"Let's use Baby Doll's eyes!"
Eevee eyes got all big as they stared at the crowd cutely, with tiny hearts falling down toward her.
"Use Swift and Hidden Power!" Sammy commanded.
"Eev!" Eevee cried out, letting loose a swift attack and combining it with Hidden Power creating beautiful sparks and light as the swift was destroyed.
The crowd cheers loudly at the display of Eevee's performance.
"It was like Eevee and Sammy. We're connected as one!" Rhian announced.
"Show off her Pokemon cuteness like that was a great performance," Mr. Contesta said.
"And Remarkable."
"It was an excellent balance between Eevee charm and power, a first-rate performance," Nurse Joy said.
"That not something you hear from Nurse Joy often," Rhian said."Next up!"
The next performance was of a boy with a Spearow destroying a piece of wood with Aerial Ace. Then after, he was a girl with a Kanto Meowth using Furry Swipes to mold a miniature boat out of ice.
Roy couldn't help but the performance of the other contestants after Sammy, especially the odd ones, like the girl with a Psymo jumping around in hops.
"And next, we got the Sunēkuuddo City debut of Anabel all the way from Sunny Town in the Kanto Region," Rhain announced.
Roy couldn't help but raise an eyebrow as he saw a girl with shoulder-length teal hair run on stage, smiling and wearing a yellow dress and matching boots.
"Tangela, come on out!" She shouted, sending out Tangela, who was surrounded by stars."Vine Whip!" She said, tossing a ball up in the air as Tangla used its vines to toss it high in the air.
"Now use Leaf Storm and Confusion!"Anabel command.
Taglea releases a storm of leaves' eyes and spins the ball around, and its eyes glow blue, increasing the spinning of the leaves and ball.
"Well, look at the grass display with Pyshic powers from Tanglea!" Rhian announced.
"Now we have the debut of Jennifer from Dusk Town!"
Roy's eyes widened momentarily at the sight of Jennifer as she ran onto the stage and threw a Pokeball, smiling.

Back in Dusk Town...
Jessie, Mysau, Persian, Tyler, and Anthony sat on the couch watching Jennifer on TV.
"Here comes big sister's turn," Tyler said.
Jessie nodded with a smile seeing how beautiful her daughter looked in her dress.
"Alright, Starla, I choose you !" She shouted, throwing a pokerall as multiple pink stars as Starla appeared."Now use Swift!" She commanded.
Starla used Swift and collided with the stars making almost a flashing rainbow.
"Wow, look at the rainbow entrance made by Solan Meowth!"
"Now use Lunar Glow!"
Starla let out a beautiful cry as she surrounded the area in a beautiful pink glow adding a shine to her pink body.
"Now, Disarming voice!"
Starla released a Disarming voice in the sky, flashing with a Lunar glow creating a spotlight on Starla.
"A creative way to show off a Fairy type.
"Remarkable!"
"It was quite the display of power and beauty between trainer and Pokemon."
"That was an excellent performance for the kiddo and Starla," Persain commented.
"Yes, seems there both doing good for a couple of days if traveling," Mysau said.
"Agree," Anthony said.

"That wasn't a bad performance for her Meowth seems a bit calmer than yesterday," Oswald stated.
"Maybe for now," Roy said.
"Now we have a Diamond from Guren Town!"
"Let's shine, Chimchar!" Diamond tossed her Pokeball in the air after taking a deep breath.
Chimchar then pops out with a cloud of smoke behind him.
"Ember!"
"Chimchar!" He exclaimed, jumping up and spinning around as the flames fell down toward him.
"Now, Flame Wheel!
Chimchar spun around in a wheel combined with flames creating a beautiful fire trail around his body and igniting its tail flame as it stopped spinning.
"A true display of Firepower. It kept me glew to the performance."
"Besides Remarkable."
"It was so easy to see Chimchar's talent. I could see my eyes off of them," Nurse Joy said.
"Now it's time for judges' results! So here are the coordinators moving on to the next round!"
