Narrator POV
As the sunrise to bring about the new day, Angie and Azukirius were still out and sleeping. But it wasn't a normal sleep, the two of them were in the astral plane.
And they were both discussing if Angie was going to accept the offer of becoming the next guardian.
In the Astral Plane
"Wow where are we?" Angie questions as she looks around.
"We are in the Astral Plane. In this place we will be able to communicate without causing any harm to your body." Azukirius explains as he reveals his once human self .
"Wait Azu you were human?" Angie questions as she looks at the teen infront of her.
"Yes Angie I use to be human and I became a guardian but, I ended up doing it for the wrong reasons." Azukirius says as he looks at her with guilt.
"What do you mean you did it for the wrong reasons Azu?" Angie questions in confusion.
"Well after I got to certain level of magic, I got seduced by the power of greed that I did some thing's that I'm not proud of doing.
So as a punishment, the ancient magic transformed me into a crystal. And ever since then I have to take on the forms of knowledge that the guardians ask for.
And for the past few eons I have both served and helped previous guardians. Sadly though everytime we get to the certain level of magic, the guardian is seduced by the power greed.
And then they die at the hands of Obsidianas Oscuras." Azukirius says as he looks away from sadness and more guilt.
"Okay so what you're telling me is that if I were to accept this Guardian of the Universe, there will be a time where I'll be tested and it will decide my fate and your's?" Angie says as she looks at Azu.
"That is pretty much correct Angie." Azukirius bluntly says.
"Well then I guess I'll just have to accept the offer." Angie says quickly.
"Okay I understand that this was... Wait you what??? You're going to accept this?" Azukirius exclaims in disbelief.
"Yup you heard me correctly Azu hehe, I'm going to accept the offer of being a Guardian of the Universe." Angie says as she looks at a shocked Azukirius.
"Are you certain that you want to become the next guardian?" Azukirius questions in uncertainty.
"Yes Azu I'm certain. And heck once I've learned everything I need to learn about being a guardian, I do what I can to set you free okay." Angie says as she smiles warmly at Azu.
"Well since your mind has been made up, I will humbly accept your decision and I will do what I can to guide and protect you as best I can." Azukirius says as he ends the connection between their minds.
Out of the Astral Plane
As Angie wakes up and looks at the glowing book, she couldn't help but smile and hugs Azukirius. Even though he couldn't really show his face, Azu just nuzzles into Angie's embrace.
Angie's POV
When I let go of Azukirius, I couldn't help but be curious and opened him up. At first I could tell that he was a little bit uncertain about this but, when I gently stroke the spine of the book, he managed to calm down.
"Are you okay Azu? You really tensed up there for a second or so."
"Yes I'm alright Angie, it's just I'm still not sure that you should become the next guardian. I mean don't get me wrong, I'm a little bit happy that you want to be the new Guardian.
However, I have lost many guardians as it is and, the last thing I want is to see a young soul like you die." Azukirius says as he shakes in sadness.
At first I was going to say something but, no words came out. Only the feeling of being frozen like someone just froze time itself.
So instead of saying something, I just hugged Azu tightly and rubbed his book cover lightly. Surprisingly it worked to calm the poor magical book down.
After a good few minutes, Azukirius calmed down and before I could open him, I noticed the unopened envelope that my parents gave me.
"Hey it's the envelope that my parents gave me. Heh I forgot to open it."
"Oh a gift from your parents? I wonder what it could be since, not many guardians talk about there parents or family." Azu says as he floats behind me.
I chuckled softly and opened up the big envelope and to my surprise, it was money, some pictures, and a note. As I pulled out the note and pictures from the envelope and push aside the money, I started to read the note first.
"Dear Angelique Morta Vasquez, my sweet daughter, I know that things were tough for you in the past. But ever since I married your father, I have wanted nothing more than to see you happy.
And so now that you are in another continent and away from home, your Dad and I decided to give this little gift to you. As much as we worry for you, we both still want to to have a good time.
Love you sweetheart see you when you come back home, sincerely Mommy
P.S. I hope you love the pictures of the four of us together at the amusement park two months ago."
At that point, I believe I was crying from happiness and I just smiled at the pictures of me, Mom, Dad, and Elizabeth at the amusement park.
"That was beyond sweet Angie or is it Angelique?" Azu questions me since he's unsure about what to call me.
"Hehehe just Angie is fine Azukirius haha. Oh can't forget about the money that Mom and Dad left for me."
When I look inside of the envelope, I'm beyond shocked to see at least a good $9,674 there. Instead of going nuts about it, I just smiled warmly and silently thanked my parents for the gift. Even though, I rarely ever accept money from my own family.
"Well I guess I definitely owe my sister a really nice souvenir before I leave for home."
"You seem awfully calm about this gift Angie. I'm surprised that you aren't jumping up and down for the money." Azukirius says as he looks at me.
Narrator POV
After Angie put some of the money in her purse, she quickly put the rest in the envelope and back into her suitcase.
"Well the reason I don't go crazy for money is because, I was raised right by my daddy even though I had a few bumps in my path.
So I'm grateful for what is given to me, regardless of how little something is." Angie says as she finishes putting up the envelope.
Before Azukirius could say anything else, Angie carefully holds Azu and gently opens up the book. As she did this, Azukirius engulfed Angie and sucked her into the void.
In the void aka The Gateway between the Multiverse
Angie looks around the void and tries to figure out what to do. Thankfully Azukirius quickly comes to her aid. However, he accidentally bumps her into a portal.
"Azukirius where are we-ahhhhh!!!" Angie screams as she falls into a portal with Azukirius tailing right behind her.
"Don't worry Angie I'm coming. Oh god's I already regret this-ahhhhh!!" Azukirius shouts as he falls into the portal as well.
And now begins the start of not only training to become the new guardian but, the beginning of a long journey.
