Y/N, Ruby, and Jaune rush to the main hall where all the first years are at as Ozpin's speech is about to begin soon.
Y/N: ("Holy crap, we made it! Never relying on them for directions.")
Once they made it, Ruby hears a familiar voice.
Yang: "Ruby! Over here! I saved you a spot!"
Ruby wave at her before turning back to Y/N and Juane.
Ruby: "I got to go. See you guys after the ceremony."
As she leaves to meet her sister, Y/N waves her off.
Jaune: "Ah, great. Where am I supposed to find another nice, quirky girl to talk to?"
Y/N: "Eh, I'm sure you'll meet one."
He said this, while looking at a red-haired girl who is waiting patiently for Ozpin's speech.
Meanwhile, Yang crosses her arms, she looks over to Ruby beside her.
Yang: "So, how's your first day going, sis? Got any new friends so far?"
Ruby looked at her with frustration.
Ruby: "You mean since you ditched me for your friends, and I exploded?"
Yang: "Yikes. Meltdown already?"
Ruby: "No, I literally exploded a hole in front of the school! And there was some fire, and I think some ice?"
Yang smiles broadly as she leans forward a bit.
Yang: "Are you being sarcastic?"
The red hooded girl just scoffs.
Ruby: "I wish! I tripped over some crabby girl's luggage, and then she yelled at me, and then I sneezed, and then I exploded, and then she yelled at me again, then Y/N start talking back at her, they argue, and I felt really, really bad, and I just wanted her to stop yelling at me!"
Weiss: "You again!"
Once she sees Weiss again, Ruby quickly jumps into her sister's arm.
Ruby: "Ah! It's her!"
Weiss: "You're lucky we weren't blown off the side of the cliff!"
Yang: "Wow, you really did exploded."
Ruby then gets off her sister's arms before speaking to Weiss.
Ruby: "It was an accident! I'm really sorry, okay?!"
Weiss holds up a pamphlet titled "DUST for dummies and other Inadequate Individuals" to Ruby
Ruby: "What's this?"
Weiss: "The Schnee Dust Company is not responsible for-"
The heiress listing off policies to a clueless and horrified Ruby, going faster and higher pitched with each word she says.
Ruby: "Uhm...?"
Weiss: "You really wanna start making things up to me?"
Ruby: "Absolutely?"
Weiss then hand out the pamphlet to her and speaks in a demanding tone.
Weiss: "Read this, and never speak to me again. Now, where's your friend from earlier? I need to give him this pamphlet too."
Ruby: "I can give it to him."
Weiss: "And having you lose it? No thanks... Ah, there he is."
Y/N notice the Ice Queen herself approaching him. Jaune also notice but looks excited.
Jaune: "Oh my gosh! She's coming towards me!"
Only for Weiss to just walk past Jaune and stand in front of Y/N, handing him the pamphlet.
Weiss: "Here!"
Y/N just sighs and reluctantly take the pamphlet.
Y/N: "Geez, thanks."
Weiss: "And for the record, it's Weiss Schnee, not Ice Queen, got it?"
Y/N: "Pft, with an attitude like that, it's kind of hard not to."
Weiss: "Tch, dunce."
Both Y/N and Weiss just glare at each other with Jaune unsure what to do in this situation so, opt to remain silent. Yang and Ruby walked towards them as Yang speak.
Yang: "Well, you two sure are getting along well."
Weiss look back at Yang with her cheeks blushing a bit.
Weiss: "Please, we just met! I'm merely handling the situation with grace."
This prompt Y/N to scoff at her remark.
Y/N: "If that's what you call grace, then I can't imagine how you handle it ungracefully."
The heiress snaps back at him.
Weiss: "I handle everything with grace!"
Y/N: "Yeah, maybe in Atlas, but not here. So, don't expect to have any sort of authority in this school."
Ruby attempts to step in and calm the both of them.
Ruby: "Hey, come on guys. We're here to learn to become huntsmen, not start arguing."
In response, Weiss gives Ruby the cold stare, making Ruby recoil. Realizing how this train wreck was going to end, Yang decided to try to defuse the tension between them.
Yang: "Look, uh, it sounds like you guys just got off on the wrong foot. Why don't you start over and try to be friends, okay?"
Weiss just gives Yang a blank stare which Yang just half smiled back, while Y/N remains quiet, not wanting to talk to Weiss whatsoever. Ruby perks up a bit at her sister's suggestion.
Ruby: "Yeah! Great idea, sis!"
With an enthusiastic expression, she then holds out her hand as she clears her throat.
Ruby: "Hello, Weiss! I'm Ruby! Wanna hang out? We can go shopping for school supplies!"
However, the white-haired girl doesn't take the remark well, sarcastically saying back.
Weiss: "Yeah! And we can paint our nails and try on clothes and talk about cute boys, like... tall, blonde, scraggly over there!"
Jaune: "Eh?"
Ruby perks up some more with a bright smile.
Ruby: "Wow, really?!"
Weiss is dead silence as she glares at her.
Weiss: "No."
Their attention is then drawn to the stage, where Professor Ozpin is readying the microphone. Soon enough, Ozpin enters the stage, welcoming the new students as he starts his speech. It took a while but, eventually Ozpin start to end his speech.
Ozpin: "In conclusion, you have all traveled here today in search of knowledge, but your time here, you'll learn that knowledge can only carry you so far when comes to being a Huntsman. Especially towards the Grimm. I may seem ancient to you. As old as the mountains that support this prestigious academy but, I hope that my graying hairs and wise words will not be lost on you. Train hard. Listen well. And I have complete faith that you'll surpass what even you believe to be impossible. Thank you."
All the students begin to clap as Ozpin steps away from the microphone. Y/N couldn't help but, feel like Ozpin was staring at him when he said that.
Y/N: ("You sure are a mysterious one, huh.")
After that, Professor Goodwitch walk up the stage alongside with Velvet and her team. One of them, wearing sunglasses, steps in front of the microphone, her team standing behind her and Glynda and begins to speak.
Coco: "I'm Coco Adel. Second-year. Leader of Team CVFY."
As she makes her speech, Y/N notices the same bow-wearing girl among the crowd.
Y/N: ("Her again. How many times do I keep seeing her?")
As he stares at her from the distance, he couldn't help but notice her bow wiggling again. The speech only lasts for a few moments as Coco concludes it.
Coco: "So, I guess I should say is make your time here great. You won't be able to be as good as us, but maybe you'll get close."
Y/N snap back to awareness by the applause as Coco and her team leave the stage and Glynda now standing in front of the microphone. Y/N notice the other students are getting a bit agitated.
Y/N: ("Yeah, I would be tired of just standing here and waiting to be dismiss.")
Glynda: "There will be assigned dorms tomorrow, when teams are decided."
Y/N could see Ruby with a shocked expression when she heard "teams." Glynda continues.
Glynda: "Until then, you'll be issued with sleeping bags and shall be sleeping in the ballroom."
There's a general muttering of discontent among the students, but Glynda raises her hand, making the room completely silence, before speaking.
Glynda: "Initiation begins tomorrow. Good luck. You may spend the rest of today as you wish."
Without a word, she exits the stage, leaving the students to look around in confusion as they wonder what to do.
Y/N: "Well, I guess I go to sleep."

It was nighttime, Roman Torchwick arrive back to his base of operation. He feels frustrated over some of his robberies ending in complete failure and barely escaping from the authority.
Roman: "Damn those authority figures."
He walks towards a more lavishly decorated room, the color schemes being pink, brown, and white. The crime boss finds his partner-in-crime, Neo, currently sick and bed-ridden. His mood begins to soften.
Roman: "Hey, Neo. How you feeling?"
The girl slowly does some hand signals for Roman as he gets a chair and sit next to her and her bed.
Neo: "I'm doing well. Much better than yesterday."
Roman: "I see."
A moment of silence occurs before Roman speaks again.
Roman: "Listen, Neo. I got something big planned and as soon as you get better, I need your help to make it work, so you better get better, okay?"
Neo merely nods to him. Roman looks out the room's window, gazing upon the broken moon.

Students are preparing their sleeping bags to sleep for the night. Y/N, however, looks around the school's hall to find the men's bathroom, but ended up lost.
Y/N: "Ugh, how hard is it to find a bathroom? I can find a Grimm faster than this."
As he walks past a corner, he stumbled upon the bow girl.
Y/N: ("Okay, that's it. This is too many coincidences. I'm going-")
What caught his attention was the cat ears as she's crouching while looking at a small mirror. The moment she saw Y/N in the mirror, looking at her, she disappears in a split second. Sensing her presence, Y/N turns around to find her staring at him with a fierce look on her face and having her weapon pointed at his neck.
Blake: "You do realize what I have to do, right?"
Y/N: "Look, we can talk about this. No need to point that thing."
Blake just glares at him, still pointing her weapon at him. Y/N merely has his hands raise a bit before his eyes look away from her gaze.
Y/N: "Look, they're coming this way."
She turns around over the direction he was looking only to see nobody, giving Y/N the chance to escape from her grasp.
Y/N: "Look, I don't have time for this and I'm guessing you don't either."
She collided her blade with his Violet when he pulls it out from his waist.
Y/N: "Okay. How about a trade for the bow you dropped."
Blake: "What?"
Once she realized that she drops it, she back off upon seeing Y/N having the bow in his hand. Hesitant, Blake lowers her weapon and asks coldly.
Blake: "What do you want?"
Y/N: "Your name?"
Blake: "Blake. Anything else?"
Y/N can hear the emotionless tone from her voice but continues speaking.
Y/N: "What's your opinion on the recent White Fang's activities?"
Blake: "They're not the same as back then. They... They lost their way. Why?"
Y/N: "Just wondering, considering you're... you know."
Blake: "It has nothing to do with you."
Y/N: ("If she only knew.") "Sure, sure."
Blake: "So, you want anything else?"
She still continues to glare at him.
Y/N: "Can I... pet your ears?"
Blake: "Huh...?"
Taken aback by this, she ponders for a bit before responding back.
Blake: "Um... I mean... if it means I get my bow back, then... go ahead."
Y/N approach her and proceed to pet her ears and they were soft and fuzzy. Feeling embarrassed, Blake push away his hand.
Blake: "Okay, that's enough."
Y/N: "Oh, sorry."
Much to his disappointment, Y/N handed over the bow and she quickly puts it on.
Y/N: "Why hide your ears, there are other Faunus who attend here who are not hiding their traits."
Blake: "I... I think that's enough secrets for one day."
Y/N: "Yeah, that's fair."
She looks back at Y/N.
Blake: "So... you won't tell anyone?"
Y/N: "No, not really. I don't attend to. You have your business and I have mine. Besides, you look pretty cute without the bow. Sure, the bow is quite stylish, but those ears are cute."
Blake: "Oh, um, t-thanks..."
Red cheeks in her face, she was about to leave before Y/N shout back.
Y/N: "Wait!"
Blake: "W-What?"
Y/N: "Do you know where the men's bathroom? I really need to use it."
Blake went silent for a second before responding.
Blake: "It's over to the left of that hallway."
Y/N: "Thanks! See you later, Blake."
Blake waves her hand at Y/N and then stopped as she realizes how embarrassing she's being.

The first night at Beacon, students are spread out in sleeping bags in the ballroom. Y/N changed into his PJ's, which are just a shirt and a sweatpant. As he settled down his sleeping bag, he come across Jaune and his blue onesie PJ.
Y/N: "Don't tell me you're wearing that from now on."
Jaune: "What do you mean? I wear this every night."
Y/N look around the ballroom, seeing multiple students either settling down their sleeping bags or already asleep. He then notices Yang and Ruby in their PJ's.
Yang took notice of him and giving him a flirty look on her face. Her expression change once she sees Jaune in his PJ's. Y/N then decide to walk over to Ruby and Yang to see what's up.
Y/N: "What's up you two?"
Yang: "Oh, Ruby is just writing a letter to her old friends at Signal. And it's so cuuute.~"
Her sister launched a pillow at her face.
Ruby: "Shut up!"
Yang: "Come on, sis. You got some friends here. You have Y/N here."
Ruby: "That's something I'm glad about."
Yang: "There's Jaune. See? You're making progress."
Ruby: "I'm guessing Weiss counts as a negative friend."
Y/N: "Come on, cheer up, Ruby. Things will go smoothly the next days. So, just hang in there, okay?"
Ruby: "Yeah... maybe you're right."
Someone light up a candle, which caught their attention and to Y/N's surprise, it was Blake, who's reading a book, in her PJs, and periodically look up from her book to look at the sisters and Y/N.
Y/N: "Welp, later girls. I have someone to chat with."
He gets up from his spot and walks towards Blake to say hello.
Y/N: "Hey, Blake.
Blake: "Nice to see you here."
Y/N: "I was just hanging out with those two over there."
He motions to the two sisters behind him.
Blake: "I... see."
Y/N: "Yeah, well. I was wondering what you been up to?"
Blake: "Just... reading."
He looks to see several other books beside her. Noticing his gaze, Blake looks at him.
Blake: "If you want, I can give you one to read."
She takes out a nearby book, giving it to Y/N as he read the title.
Y/N: "'The Wolf Cub and the Crow.' Huh, Interesting title. What's it about?"
Blake giggles a bit before going back to her book.
Blake: "Read it and find out."
Y/N merely smirk and rolls his eyes before beginning to read.
Y/N: ("Eh, I could kill some time with some reading.")
Meanwhile, Yang and Ruby look at the bow-wearing girl and Y/N sitting and reading with Ruby pouting.
Ruby: ("Man, he makes it so easy.")
Yang glances over to Ruby.
Yang: "Say, you know her?"
Ruby: "Not really. She saw what happened in the courtyard this morning. She left before I could say anything."
Yang: "Well, now's your chance!"
The blonde proceeds to grab her sister's arm, lifting her up.
Ruby: "Wait! What are you doing!?"
Back with Y/N and Blake, they notice the approaching sisters as Blake continues to read her book. Yang wave at them as Ruby struggle to be free from her sister's grasp.
Yang: "Hel-looooo! I believe you two may know each other?"
Blake: "Aren't you... that girl that exploded?"
Ruby: "Uh, yeah! My name's Ruby! But you can just call me Crater... Actually, you can just call me Ruby."
Blake gaze upon her before looking back to her book.
Blake: "Okay."
Sensing the awkward silence, Yang whisper to Ruby.
Yang: "What are you doing?"
Ruby: "I don't know! Help me!"
Her big sister does just that as she turns to Blake and asks.
Yang: "So... what's your name?"
The bow-wearing girl sigh before answering.
Blake: "Blake..."
Yang looks at Y/N.
Y/N: "I met her twice today. First at the courtyard and then the hallways."
As he said that, Blake glance a bit at Y/N's direction.
Yang: "Oh, someone's good with the ladies.~"
Rolling his eyes at her remark, Y/N just idly comments.
Y/N: "Haha, very funny."
She then turns her head back to Blake.
Yang: "Anyway, I'm Yang, Ruby's older sister! I like your bow!"
Blake: "Thanks..."
Yang: "It goes great with your... pajamas!"
Blake: "Right..."
Ruby laughs uncomfortably as Yang continues, trying to keep the conversation going.
Yang: "Nice night, don't you think?"
Blake: "Yes, it's lovely. Almost as lovely as this book. That I will continue to read. As soon as you leave."
Yang looks back her sister with a defeated shrug.
Yang: "Well, I got nothing."
Ruby, however, gaze upon the book Blake is reading before asking.
Ruby: "Is that 'The Man with Two Souls'?"
Blake: "Yes, it is. Why?"
Ruby: "I love that book. My mom and Yang would read it to me sometimes before bed. Heroes. Monsters. Good stories are half the reason that I'm here."
Y/N: "Well, books are the fragments of knowledge."
The three girls look at him with confusion.
Y/N: "Oops, my mind slips a bit."
Blake looks back to Ruby.
Blake: "And why is that? Hoping you'll live happily ever after?"
Ruby: "Well, I'm hoping we all will."
Blake: "That's... very ambitious of you. Unfortunately, the real world isn't the same as a fairy tale."
Ruby: "Well, that's why we're here! To make it come true and be better."
Chiming in is the seated Y/N as he remarks.
Y/N: "Setting goals in life, keep heading down the road where you know you can see it. That's quite ambitious of you, Ruby."
Ruby starts giggling in embarrassment.
Yang: "Oh, I am so proud of my baby sister! I knew you would make some friends here!"
The blonde comes in for a hug only for Ruby to struggle to escape.
Ruby: "Yang! Cut it out!"
Briefly watching the sister's antics, Y/N goes to sit next to Blake. She taps him on the shoulder, gaining his attention.
Y/N: "What's up?"
Blake begins to whisper to him.
Blake: "You haven't told anyone about my 'secret,' right?"
In response, Y/N just shrugs.
Y/N: "Don't worry. I won't say anything if you don't want me to."
Blake: "Okay. Thank you."
Y/N: "No prob-"
Suddenly, a familiar voice appears and approaching them.
Weiss: "What's all this commotion about?! Don't you realize some of us are trying to sleep?"
Weiss, in her nightgown, notice both Ruby and Yang as they do too.
Weiss & Yang: "Oh, not you again!"
Ruby: "Shh! Guys, she's right! People are trying to sleep!"
Weiss: "Oh, now you're on my side!"
Ruby: "I was always on your side!"
Yang: "Yeah, what's your problem with my sister? She's only trying to be nice!"
Weiss: "My servants call her a hazard to my health! And I'm inclined to agree!"
This is when Y/N cuts in with a somewhat mocking tone.
Y/N: "Nice dress, Ice Queen. Never knew nightgowns are still a thing."
Weiss look over to Y/N, embarrassed and flustered at the same time.
Wiess: "W-What? What are you doing on the girl's side?"
Y/N: "Wait, is that rule? I didn't know that."
Shaking her head from her blushing, Weiss point at Y/N.
Weiss: "You need to leave, or else Glynda and security will find you here."
Yang: "Hey, Y/N. What about mine?"
Y/N look at Yang's PJ for a bit.
Y/N: "Not half bad. You look fit."
Yang: "Aww, you flirt~"
They then resume arguing with one another until Blake goes and grab the candle and shows it to Y/N as she asks.
Blake: "Would you mind blowing them out?"
Y/N: "Sure thing."
Once the lights are out, Y/N felt something on his cheek, sort of like a kiss. Blake whisper to Y/N.
Blake: "A token of appreciation for not letting out the truth."
Y/N: "Uh, thanks, Blake."
He couldn't help but blush a bit as Blake continues.
Blake: "Oh, you better go before security and Glynda show up. If they see you here..."
She's able to see the security guards thanks to her strong sense of hearing and night vision.
Y/N: "I get expelled."
With Blake's help via pointing where the girls' location and where he should go to avoid. Y/N then whispers to them.
Y/N: "Later ladies. See you tomorrow."
Yang: "Bye!"
Weiss: "Hey! We're not done talking to you, you dunce!"
Y/N: "Sorry, girls and Ice Queen. I gotta go."
He managed to make it to his sleeping bag and proceed to drift off to sleep, thinking that things will be better tomorrow than today.
