"What are you doing, love?" He asked curiously.

He was watching as she scribbled words down on small scraps of paper. She laughed evilly instead of responding to his words.

They were back in New Orleans. But instead of heading back to where his siblings and Annabeth were staying, the iconic trio were at a different apartment that Klaus just compelled for them to have.

Percy stopped writing and showed her work to Rudy to get his opinion. The puppy placed his nose on the paper—to sniff the knowledge and understand it, clearly.

"Rudy approves. You wanna see?" She held out the paper toward the hybrid.

His eyes widened. "And you're gonna leave this outside the door?"

"Yes. Isn't it great?" She asked, but honestly it was rhetorical.

She made Klaus dress in all black—which wasn't difficult to accomplish. Rudy was given a black cape (which he loved.) And she adorned the same color.

For this mission, they needed to be stealthy. They needed to blend in with the shadows.

They needed to be ninjas.

They strutted through the streets (very inconspicuously) until they arrived at the apartment building that his siblings were staying in.

They walked in carefully, watchful for anyone they knew. Percy led the group and crept along the hallway, her back against the wall.

Klaus tried to whisper, "Love-"

"Shh. Super spies," She said softly.

He nodded. He knew better than to question Percy.

They turned the corner and made it to the elevator. She hit the button. Once it opened, she looked inside, checked that it was empty, then gestured for her two conspirators to hurry inside.

Klaus and Rudy went in, and Percy stop-drop-and-rolled in after them. To be inconspicuous.

The door shut behind her. She was up again and pressed the button to the floor Klaus told her to go to at the start of this mission.

Elevator music played as it traveled up.

Klaus and Percy were on either side of the elevator, ready for anything.

Rudy was in between them, his tail wagging. He too was ready for anything.

They made it to the floor they were getting off at. Thankfully no one got in their way during this trip. If that happened, she'd have to make them disappear.

The raven haired beauty crept out of the elevator. Her loyal partners followed close behind.

They made it outside the door. Now it was time to carry out the next phase of their mission.

Percy set down the piece of paper she scribbled on right outside the door.

It said,
'Boo! You're being haunted by the ghost of your favorite Percy. To find her, you must follow these clues to her dead spirit.
Xoxo—ur one and only ghost <3'

The back had several hints of where to find her written on it.

Percy opened up the backpack she brought with her.

She pulled out a collapsible tripod and expanded it so it stood upright. Then she pulled a white sheet out of the bag and placed it over the tripod so that the sheet fully covered it.

It of course had googly eyes glued on. Duh.

While she did that, Klaus plugged in the mini fan she brought in her bag into an outlet that was in the hallway.

The fan pointed at the prop ghost to make it the bottom of it move, which made it seem more alive. And theatrical.

Once they were done setting up, Percy made eye contact with Klaus and pointed at Rudy. The original nodded and picked him up.

The sea green eyed woman then pulled out her phone and played the audio she recorded before they arrived.

She placed her other hand on Klaus's arm, so she could vapor travel away once the time comes.

'Oooooo,' the phone sounded. 'This is Percyyyy. You're being haunted. Oooooooo.'

She heard movement from inside. It sounded like a bull was trampling towards the door. Things were definitely breaking and falling over in there.

'Oooo ghost noises. Ooooo.' The audio continued playing.

Inside, a demigod and a handful of original vampires were trying to beat each other in a race to find the creator of the totally spooky and scary noise.

When the doorknob began turning, Percy vapor traveled her ninja squad away.

Klaus' phone started ringing once the three made it back to their own apartment.

He set Rudy back down and answered it. The hybrid looked over at the woman in front of him and placed it on speaker so she could hear too.

"Is Percy alive?" It was Rebekah's voice that spoke.

Klaus opened his mouth as he watched Percy shake her head. "Um, I'm not allowed to say."

The sea green eyed beauty sent him a grin and a thumbs up.

"Do you know anything about this bloody note she left?" Kol asked. "Or the fake ghost?"

Percy placed a finger on her lips in a shush motion.

The hybrid did not look away from her face once. "I can't answer that."

He couldn't help but smile a little bit.

She smiled back proudly.

"Brother, tell us where you are right now," Rebekah commanded.

Klaus admired the daughter of Poseidon's silly smile.

"I don't know where I am."

The people on the other side of the call could tell he did in fact know where he was. And they hated him for it.

"But," the hybrid added, "If there was a note, you should probably do what it says. I, however, have no idea what it could possibly contain or why it was at your door."

Rebekah was not satisfied with these answers. She wanted her friend back and she did not have patience for her brother's words. "Klaus," she practically growled his name.

"I'm afraid I have to go," Klaus said into the phone.

"Wait!" Kol interrupted. "I have one more question."

He waited. "Yes, Kol?"

"Were you kidnapped, and are you being held at gun point? Your answers sound scripted."

Percy jokingly made finger guns at the hybrid with an evil smile.

Klaus smirked.

Then he cleared his throat to sound less amused and more serious. "I definitely wasn't kidnapped. I am definitely not in danger. And everything I'm saying is definitely with my own free will."

Annabeth and the siblings looked at each other with widened eyes.

"And on a completely unrelated note to me potentially being held hostage, I will no longer be staying at that apartment with you all." He informed them. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go back to not being held prisoner and being completely safe."

He spoke in a way that made them question if he was actually kidnapped.

Klaus ended the call.

Percy raised her finger gun. "Put your hands in the air."

He smiled in amusement and held up his hands.

He'd always surrender to her. He couldn't help it.

Percy giggled and rushed forward to place a kiss on his lips.

His smile grew as he looked at her. Slowly his hands returned to his sides.

"Do you wanna have a duel but with finger guns?" She asked.

He shook his head with a gentle smile. "I could never risk you getting hurt, so I wouldn't be able to shoot."

The sea green eyed woman nodded. She gestured to her own hand in understanding. "Yeah, these things are dangerous."

From pretending to be a ghost, to a fake kidnapper, and now acting as though bullets could come out of her pointer finger, Percy truly was in her villain era.

"You know what else is dangerous?" He asked with an innocent smile.

"Hm?" She looked up at him with her curious sea green eyes.

He took one step closer. "You," he said softly, "Because you stole my heart."

Percy's hand moved up to hold the side of his neck and she pulled him closer.

Their lips met, soft and gentle, slow and sweet.

And Percy felt like she should steal things more often.

She couldn't help but wonder if she could rob a bank.

But then he pulled her closer, and the kiss became more passionate, and she found herself forgetting about anything else.

All her focus turned to him.

Because somehow being in his embrace made her feel richer than robbing a bank ever could.

With him, she felt as though she was on top of the world.

It was fitting, since one day the two of them would take over it too.

Not much time had passed when a knock sounded at the door of the apartment.

The hybrid looked at Percy and then went to answer the door.

Rudy's tail was wagging as he looked in the direction of the door, which told Percy it was someone they knew.

He still had his cape on and he looked adorable.

When Klaus turned the doorknob and opened the door, Percy had just enough time to see long blonde hair. Then suddenly a blur of a person was sprinting towards her.

The sea green eyed woman was pushed back a few feet from the force of the person crashing into her. Arms wrapped around her tightly and a familiar scent of her best friend's perfume met her nose.

Percy instantly hugged back. "Hi, Wise Girl."

"I was so worried about you, Seaweed Brain," Annabeth told her. "Don't you dare die ever again, you hear me?"

The raven haired beauty nodded. "Yes, boss. I promise."

The blonde, choosing not to respond to being addressed as boss, replied, "And how dare you use my love of solving things against me?"

"It was fun though wasn't it?" Percy asked hopefully.

"Not the point." She replied and tightened her grip on Percy.

The daughter of Poseidon laughed. It definitely was the point.

Annabeth's voice softened when she spoke next. "I love you, Percy."

"I love you, Annabeth," She responded back.

Annabeth squeezed her one more time before loosening her grip and pulling away slightly. Percy noticed the tear that fell from her best friend's eye. And suddenly Percy was aware of her own eyes feeling watery.

The sound of loud footsteps running up the steps came from outside their apartment.

They looked over just in time to see the Mikaelson siblings right outside the doorway.

Percy smiled slightly. "You can come in."

The instantly ran inside.

They too gave Percy a hug, but this time it was a giant group one and Annabeth had joined again.

Rudy walked over to lean against people's legs.

Klaus was still watching from the door.

Percy, through the heads of people, managed to find the hybrid's eyes from across the room. And even though she didn't say the words out loud, he could just tell her wish from the sight of her eyes.

So he walked forward, towards the group and he joined the hug.

A small smile appeared on her face as they held eye contact through the chaos of bodies.

"Hello, Persephone," Elijah said softly.

"Hi, Elijah," she said with a grin.

Kol spoke, "Sorry, we're late. Annabeth didn't let us on the elevator. And we didn't know where to go."

"I'm the one that figured out the hints." Annabeth replied.

"So?" He asked as though that didn't matter.

The blonde demigod replied, "It's not my fault you're all bad at following me."

Kol gasped in mock hurt.

Annabeth had been tempted to let Rebekah come on the elevator with her. But before they all left the apartment, they had all agreed to make the search for Percy be a competition with every person for themself.

And Annabeth Chase was competitive by nature.

And Rebekah Mikaelson happened to admire that about her.

In an attempt to change the subject, Rebekah spoke, "We missed you so much, Percy."

The giant hug ball made her stumble again. "And I missed you guys too," she said with a smile.

"I missed you most," Kol said.

Elijah calmly disagreed. "That is immensely incorrect. It was clearly I."

"You're both wrong," Rebekah interjected.

"Bekah is right," Annabeth confirmed. "Because I'm the one who missed her the most."

Kol argued, "Not true."

What a chaotic bunch.

The daughter of Poseidon spoke up with an amused smile, "Can you all shut up and stop fighting?"

A chorus of responses ensued. "My apologies, Persephone." "Sorry." "Yeah, sorry Percy." "Sorry mom." "Kol, kindly shut it, will you?" "Woof woof!"

Aw, Rudy.

Rudy, of course, knew he was the real winner here.

The Mikaelsons, Annabeth, and Rudy stayed up for a while to spend time with their favorite undead Percy.

When everyone had gone to bed, the sea green eyed woman looked over at Klaus. "I love it here."

The hybrid looked over at her and his face softened. "So do I, love." His tone was gentle and sincere.

And Percy found that for the first time in a while, she really had hope for what was to come in the future.

If only that thought could have lasted.
