February 26
I look the building up and down, proud of the accomplishment.
James bumps my arm with his own, "You did it. You are officially a business owner. How does it feel?"
I shake my head. "I can't take all of the credit. I wouldn't be here if it weren't for you." he waves a hand to brush off the comment.
"Nah, this was all you." I have to do something to show him how much I appreciate him. That he made this possible. A thought crosses my mind and I turn my body so I'm facing him.
"You got your degree in business, right? Why don't you be the COO?" I ask and he looks at me like I'm crazy.
"But I don't know anything about investing and graphs and all that weird stuff. Plus this is your moment. I'm not taking that away from you."
"It's easy to learn, and I can't do this without you. You want me to shine? Be my partner."
He sighs and looks back at the building with a sign that says lifetime investments on the front.
"Fine, but you're paying for the classes I have to take." I smile and playfully punch him in the arm. I walk to the door, unlocking it with my key.
The feeling of success washes over me as soon as I step inside my building. It's nothing big but I plan on taking this company past its limits. I plan to make LifeTime Investments the biggest in the industry.
I plan to make my mother proud. Wherever she is.
-again, I'm sorry about the super short chapters. There are filler chapters because I hate ending a book at an uneven number. But good thing is, either this chapter or the next chapter is the last short chapter :)
