I wish I were broken ceramic pieces

that could easily

be glued back together.

I wish I were Lego blocks

that you could build up

and not tear down.

I wish my scars

could be covered

with thick coats of red paint.

I wish your arms could pull me up

and fix what is wrong with me,

even though I know you can't.
