I thought you were like me,

broken and lost,

and hoping for a map to guide you.

I thought your humor

was fucked-up like mine,

but your gaze only screamed that I was crazy.

I thought we had common interests,

but every conversation reminded me

how we're from entirely different planets.

I thought you'd make me happy,

but whenever I searched your eyes,

I only questioned more why I was here.

You weren't him,

the boy you came off to be –

the boy of just my imagination.
