Tae was the happiest, it was his first time celebrating his birthday with Irene after their mother's death. And this was the first time someone gave him such a big surprise. He was smiling looking at jungkook who was smiling back at him.
"What's your name?" Lisa asked to Irene snapping tae out from his thoughts.
"Irene, kim Irene." She spoke lowly.
"Tae, she is so cute. How can you make her live in a foreign country, you could have let her stay here with us." Mi Kyung spoke making the Kim siblings frown, they both looked at each other and tae then looked at Jungkook.
"Yeah, mom is right. But it's fine, she will stay here with you both and with all of us now." Yeo bin spoke smiling at Irene.
"Yeah sure she will." Tae spoke patting her head who smiled at her brother. They all cut the cake, ate lots of delicious food, danced and had lots of fun. The jeon's went to their own mansion to sleep while tae and Irene slept in tae's room.
The next day went with happiness, yeo bin send delicious breakfast for the three of them especially for Irene, Jungkook told tae how he got to know about tae and his family, he even said sorry to other, tae don't know if he should be angry or be grateful for the elder. Tae assured Jungkook that it was ok as whatever the elder did was for tae's own good.
Jungkook told that he told his family about their urgent departure from Busan was because Irene was coming from la, where she used to stay and study. Tae didn't liked why Jungkook lied to his family. But than Jungkook said he thought it was better to just lie than to tell truth as they both were in hurry and that is all was he able to thought that time.
They all celebrated the new year together, with the hope of being like this. Jungkook was determined to make tae his real boyfriend this new year, while on the other side tae was stuck in a war within himself.
He was hesitant to tell Jungkook about his feelings, especially after knowing all the things elder had did for him. He felt like he was now being a burden to other.
It's been 5 days Irene was living with taekook, everything was going perfect. Tae wasn't able to talk to Jungkook as he was busy making Irene comfortable with the jeon's. Irene was now more better then before.
She didn't get scared of any of the jeon's, she started to open up with the whole family, and she was getting along with Jungkook the most. For Jungkook she was like a younger sister. He felt the happiness of being an elder brother, while Irene also took Jungkook as her second brother.
Their bond sometimes made tae wonder, how can they be so close in such a short period. But tae was nevertheless happy, he felt glad that Irene was now more happier and was living a life she deserved. Tae had told Irene about everything between him and Jungkook. He had made her understand that they aren't real but contract based boyfriends. Irene was a mature girl who understood their perspective, but still she wished everything was real and his brother really be jungkook's boyfriend.
Currently it was 8 in the evening, Irene was hella tired today as she had played with the kids the whole day. Having her dinner early she slept. Taking the opportunity tae thought to talk to Jungkook, to ask him why other was being so good to him, the things he had did for tae was too much to do for just a mere employee.
Knocking on jungkook's room door tae walked in. Jungkook was standing near the window too deep in thoughts, he didn't even heard the knock nor he felt tae getting inside. Tae went near him and stood next to him, staring at the sky filled with stars.
"The sky looks so beautiful today." Tae spoke making Jungkook flinch a little.
"Sorry, did I scared you." Tae asked, Jungkook just shook his head taking deep breaths to inhale the sweet fragrance of tae.
"Hmm, it's too beautiful." Jungkook agreed, but become silent and just admiring the shining sky.
"Can I ask you something?" Tae asked, Jungkook hummed.
"Why you did all this for me?" Tae asked making Jungkook frown.
"Did what?" He asked looking at tae who was just staring at the sky.
"Everything, you did so much for me. Saved my sister, put my father behind the bars, gave me the best birthday gift by that surprise, and what not. You are doing all this things without asking for anything in return. Why?" Tae asked eyes getting glossy. Jungkook sighed.
"Because you are a part of my family, people do everything for their family." Jungkook spoke making tae chuckle dryly.
"No one do anything for their employees, atleast not this much. And you said your employees are your family, but still the reason is something different. Please tell me why?" Tae asked looking at jungkook.
Both stared at each other, getting lost in each other's eyes once again. Forgetting what they were talking for some seconds, just the sound of soft breeze was in the silent room.
"Because..." Jungkook spok, taking a deep breath, he finally thought it was time to tell other about his feelings. Even tho he wanted to make everything special but for now it is important for tae to know his real feelings before he assume things on his own.
"Because, I love you." He spoke out, knocking tae's breath, tae's eyes went wide.
"I love you not like a friend but as a lover. I am fallen for you too deep. I don't know when this fake relationship made me fall for you, but I really love you." Jungkook spoke with a soft smile. Eyes holding nothing but love and confess for other. While tae's heart was beating so furiously that he was scared it might come out from his chest.
"I know you love me too tae, right. You have feels for me too.?" Jungkook asked, tae parted his lips to say yes. But... Fear started to crawl in him, what if other might hate him after knowing the left out story of his life, what if Jungkook will get bored of him, what if they won't make it. And the biggest fear tae had was his father.
Tae didn't wanted turn out like his own father, what if after they became real couples he started to act like his father.
"No...I don't." He spoke face showing no emotions, Jungkook was shocked hearing this.
"You...you don't love me. It's fine, I will make you fall for me." Jungkook spoke with a soft smile, he stepped ahead, but felt hurt when tae stepped back.
"You can't, you can't make me fall for you. Because... Because I will never love you. I can't love you. It's not good for us." Tae spoke shaking his head.
"Listen to me, why can't you fall for me?" Jungkook asked stepping ahead a little again but tae just stepped back.
"Jungkook, no. We can't. Believe me, I don't love you and I will never." Tae spoke and stared at other with blank eyes, Jungkook was hurt. He really believed other had feelings for him.
He wasn't a fool, he had caught other staring at himself with so much love. But then why is tae saying all this.
"Tae." Jungkook called, but tae stopped him putting his hands infront of him.
"I had myself clear, I am sorry but I don't love you. And you have to believe it." Tae spoke and turn, leaving the room. Tears slipped from jungkook's eyes, he never thought he will be rejected like this. He believed he will get his love, but there was still some hope in his heart.
"He will love me, I will make you fall for me." He spoke wiping the tears holding determination in his voice.
Only if he knew tae is going to have too different plans. At a moment he will give up too.
