"Three, two, one," the cameraman signaled the news anchor, who was reporting from the Haiphong port. Delegates from various countries were arriving to attend the ASEAN, where the country's efforts to expand its influence had caught the attention of several countries outside their sphere.

"Good morning and welcome to Southeast Asia News. We have breaking news that ASEAN's efforts have attracted the attention of several countries outside the region, as we see incoming delegates from all around the world," announced the state-sponsored news anchor from Southeast Asia News.

ASEAN, formerly a regional intergovernmental organization of ten nations, had become a transition government of a unified country, sent to another world by late October 2021. They had encountered many monumental events, including first contact, establishing diplomatic ties with a new world civilization, winning their first war, forming an alliance with Mu, engaging in their second war with a superpower, and earning prestige for their victory. They now enjoy peace despite the world being on the brink of a world war.

After the Southeast Asian nations partially successful in their efforts to expand their economies and became more self-sufficient following their transfer to new world, they began to attract interest from nations outside their sphere of influence, including allies from second and third civilizations. ASEAN's economic and military prowess had grown significantly over the years, with recent victories over Lauria and the Parpaldia Empire, as well as their alliance with Mu, placing them in the spotlight and rumored to replace Parpaldia as the superpower reigning over the third civilization. They were also possibly on the path to creating a new civilization zone within their sphere of influence. This growth made them an attractive destination for countries seeking to establish trade relations and alliances.

To further develop friendly countries' infrastructure, ASEAN had made significant strides through loans, technical assistance, and trade with neighboring countries. As their reputation grew, they caught the attention of one of the world's superpowers, Eimor, who finally made contact with them. Eimor delegates arrived in ASEAN to explore the possibility of forming a strategic partnership, although some believed there were other motives behind their visit

However, the most significant event was the arrival of delegates from the Esperanto-Heiskanen Imperial Union, the unified northern Grameus, which is a union of two countries that had been isolated on their continent for several millennia. The Union had been formally created just a month ago, with Bahara and Saffine signing the foundation of the dual-monarchy-based country due to various circumstances associated with the discovery of the outside world. Despite not being a recognized power and being relatively unknown in the world, their presence had a significant impact on ASEAN's international standing upon arrival in Altaras, especially since they were accompanied by a large, 2.5 meters tall, hovering silver carapace, which was one of the sentient species of mechanical and biological hybrid creations, making them as threatening as top powers of this world.

The news anchor provided additional context, stating, "Recent arrivals at the port include delegates from the newly formed Esperanto-Heiskanen Imperial Union, the union representing the previously isolated northern Grameus. This development is surprising given that the two countries comprising the union have been secluded from the rest of the world for thousands of years. It seems that Queen Saffine has now disembarked from the ship, and it appears that she is being escorted by what appears to be a group of flying drones." The cameras quickly zoomed in to capture the unusual sight.

As Saffine stepped off the ship, she was met by a group of knights who escorted her down the gangway. But what caught everyone's attention were the floating drones that seemed to be following her every move. They appeared to be monitoring her every step, and the other delegates were left bewildered by their presence.

The drones were sleek and modern, their metallic bodies glinting in the sunlight. They moved with a graceful efficiency, following Saffine as she made her way down the dock. Some of the other delegates whispered to each other in hushed tones, wondering what kind of technology could produce such impressive machines.

As Saffine and her escort made their way through the crowd, the drones continued to follow, hovering just above her head. Some people tried to take pictures or record video of the scene, hoping to capture a glimpse of the futuristic technology in action.

Saffine's expression was a mix of complexity and bewilderment as she was confronted with the persistent attention. She had become accustomed to being in the spotlight since becoming queen after that certain incident in Esperanto. The presence of the drones was just became another part of her daily routine. As they made their way towards the waiting cars, Saffine took one last look back at the ship, contemplating the significance of the moment. She observed the welcoming ceremony with a sense of curiosity, knowing that her presence alone had attracted attention and paved the way for further diplomatic relations, as she boarded the waiting car.

The Altaran delegation found themselves overwhelmed by the grandeur of the reception, despite being used to occasional patrols by ASEAN combat aircrafts and navy warships in their waters, as well as some Muish and Milishial ships docking in their ports after the war. They had not expected such a warm welcome and were impressed by the level of organization and attention to detail put into the event, considering their small presence. As they made their way towards the waiting convoy of cars, they exchanged pleasantries with the ASEAN officials and expressed their gratitude for the hospitality.

Similarly, the delegates from Central Law Kingdom and Argatha were equally impressed by the reception they received. They appreciated the ASEAN's initiative to establish friendly relations and looked forward to exploring the possibilities of cooperation and partnership.

Despite the presence of conflict and tension in the region and on the other part of the world, the ASEAN still went all out in welcoming their guests. The Haiphong port was alive with activity as the cruise ships carrying the delegates from Altaras International Port arrived. The red carpet was immediately rolled out, and military honors and elaborate welcoming ceremonies were initiated. The delegates were greeted with great respect as a squadron of Yak-130, F-16, and F-15 fighter jets flew by overhead, and dozens of helicopters dropped flowers and drew colored smoke in the sky. The ASEAN's chairman Ahmad and his cabinet members recognized the historical significance of their arrival and saw this as a chance to establish friendly relations, with diplomats from ASEAN taking the initiative to welcome them to the mainland.

The anchor continued "The ASEAN has left no stone unturned in welcoming its other esteemed guests. The delegates from Central Law Kingdom and Argatha have been received with a standard military contingent of our SEADF Marines, trained by Muish naval infantries, who have been stationed in far-flung regions of the Second Civilization. These soldiers serve as the ASEAN contingent to the Muish exchange units, and ensure the safety of our people as well as the diplomatic and economic associates of both nations. Talks of cooperation and partnership are already underway."

After the grand arrival of the Central Law Kingdom and Argatha delegates, the atmosphere at Haiphong port was electric with excitement as everyone eagerly awaited the arrival of the much-anticipated Eimorian delegates. These delegates represented a superpower, the fourth of its kind, and were expected to have a significant impact on ASEAN's international standing.

At long last, the fourth group of delegates that everyone had been eagerly anticipating had arrived in the ASEAN. The Eimorian delegation was comprised of beings that were distinctly non-human, unlike the elven and human delegates from Argatha and Central Law Kingdom. The Eimorians had been hailed as a superpower, and their arrival at the ASEAN conference was a significant event that was bound to impact the region in unforeseeable ways.

The Eimorians were unique in appearance and physique, with scaled bodies, sharp features, and towering figures. Their lizard-like eyes and razor-sharp teeth were hidden behind their lips, giving them an imposing presence. It was clear that they were not from this world, and their arrival had created a buzz of excitement and curiosity among the attendees.

The ASEAN's efforts in welcoming the Eimorian delegates were exceptional, providing them with luxurious accommodations and top-notch security. The ASEAN leaders acknowledged the significance of establishing cordial relations with Eimor.

"Breaking news! The highly-anticipated delegates from Eimor have just arrived. While the prospect of a potential partnership between ASEAN and Eimor is still unknown, but many speculating for a non-aggression pact and trade treaty to be signed this week," the news anchor announced, displaying footage of the Eimorian delegates disembarking their ship amidst the flurry of camera flashes and shutters. "We will continue to provide updates on this developing story. This is Rachel Kang reporting for Southeast Asia News. Thank you for tuning in," she concluded, with the arrival of the Eimorian delegates marking a significant moment in ASEAN's pursuit of fostering peaceful and mutually beneficial relationships with nations beyond its borders.

Northeastern Philades

At the tri-border of Rheem, the Brunswick Federation, and the Duro Commonwealth, a total of 29 former colonies are accounted for, with Duro having the highest number of colonies under their wing - 13 in total. They have aligned themselves with ASEAN for better protection and trade, and are already associated with Altaras. They are even attempting to reach out to Mu for a 'sios-like' treatment to guarantee their protection and development.

The Brunswick Federation, on the other hand, accounts for 10 colonies, but they are far smaller and less agrarian compared to Duro. Duro is almost self-sufficient and major industrial-based region even before the war began, with additional support from their large swaths of arable lands that were left almost untouched by Arde's scorch-earth tactics. This left millions of people in imminent starvation and death. Therefore, out of all the former colonies turned independent states, except for the Southern Philades Autonomous Region, all are in bad shape, and their self-sufficiency is almost non-existent, making them easy to exploit.

Due to this, Duro has garnered much envy and animosity from other former colonies because of their blessed territories and quick-witted decision to align themselves with ASEAN in the early months of the war. Thus, they were spared from annihilation by ASEAN's unrestricted industrial and military fortification bombing or Arde's scorch-earth tactics spree.

Meanwhile, Rheem greatly expanded after the war with 6 colonies choosing to be absorbed into the country. Formerly called the Bergam Region of the Parpaldia Empire, they now associate themselves with Rheem. Most of the loyalist imperial factions, who were opposed to Hanson loyalists led by now-detained Remille, Empire under Ludius and Arde, and the most concerning is being most antagonistic to ASEAN due to their actions that led to the empire's downfall that reduced them to mere feudal lords of weaker countries in northern Philades. These radical loyalists have concerning goals of reunifying the former empire of Parpaldia and reinstating their former glory while expelling ASEAN influence from the balkanized country.

However, Rheem is well aware that they cannot afford to pick a fight with ASEAN due to their massive military and industrial capabilities, learned from past wars. The ASEAN would not hesitate to use their bombers to flatten their capital and force them into submission or what Muish merchants passed down to ignorant masses on Philades, thinking if they stood a chance — challenging ASEAN hegemony in the third civilization. Furthermore, there are rumors that the ASEAN can be ruthless in their actions, which have led to hundreds of thousands, millions of Parpaldian deaths, which been exaggerated and diluted over time.

The extremists' ideals of reunified Parpaldia have reached the ears of ASEAN, leading to some skirmishes, especially with the remnants of the Imperial Army who refused to accept the negotiations for ending the war in the Esthirant Bay. They consider the Esthirant referendum as a sham, and up to 5,000 Imperial Army remnants are presently being hunted down by the SEADF and Territorial Defense Groups (TDG).

Most of the TDGs are comprised of former Hanson rebel armies who were previously loyal to Remille. As their seats on newly founded countries are precarious due to their apparent betrayal, they are seeking ASEAN's assistance to stabilize their affiliated countries and guarantee their protection. Furthermore, there have been a number of defections from the Imperial Army who find joining ASEAN more attractive than remaining with the sinking boat of Parpaldia. Presently, as many as 100,000 paramilitary TDG members are unofficially under the SEADF's military authority.

Despite the war having officially ended, the fighting was far from over.

The sounds of intense chopping helicopter noise and constant explosions could be heard amidst the lush jungle scenery. The very swampy land had turned into a fiery, cratered no-man's land. High-speed rockets shrilled and zoomed in on their targets, delivering saturation fire that almost completely annihilated the rebel encampment near the tri-border. Additionally, constant artillery barrages from mortars and lightweight guns pounded their position, making it impossible for the rebels to escape or survive from their fortifications.

Combat helicopters delivered continuous strafing fire, riddling the ground with bullets and causing innumerable rebel casualties, piling up dead and mangle corpses on the ranks of hostile camp. The destruction left behind included numerous destroyed huts littered across the ground.

"This is Alpha-1 to ground units, we have successfully cleared the area of hostiles. I repeat, the area is clear for ground units to advance."

"Artillery units to ground troops, our barrage is complete and the enemy positions have been neutralized. You are clear to advance and secure the area."

The SEADF have been tracking this rebel group for weeks, monitoring their movements and gathering intelligence. Finally, they were able to pinpoint the location of the rebel camp and plan a coordinated attack with the help of helicopter and artillery units.

With the helicopter and artillery units giving the green light, the SEADF infantry units move in to close the gap. The grunts, who are well-versed in the tropical terrain of Southeast Asia, are able to outmaneuver the retreating imperial army remnants in the jungle. Despite the enemy's attempts at evasion, ASEAN's advanced tracking technology, combined with air support and infantry assault, proves to be too much for them to handle.

As the SEADF troops close in, they face stiff resistance from the remaining rebel fighters. Despite being poorly armed and underprepared for the assault, they put up a fight. However, their muskets are no match for the relentless barrage of automatic fire from the Southeast Asian automatic rifles and light machine guns. The rebels quickly realize that they are at a major disadvantage, with their inaccurate and slow-reloading weapons providing little cover against the advancing ASEAN troops. The rebels begin to falter under the pressure of the SEADF assault, with many being forced to retreat and abandon their positions.

The SEADF ground troops used their superior tactics and training to outflank the rebel fighters and neutralize their positions one by one. The artillery units provided constant support with precise strikes that decimated the rebel fortifications and broke their morale. The combat helicopters provided air support, taking out key targets and providing a bird's eye view of the battlefield.

As the rebels attempted to retreat to reorganize or escape, they were met with swift pursuit from the SEADF troops. The Southeast Asians quickly moved in and captured the rebel camp, securing the area and searching for any remaining rebels or weapons caches. With the assistance of the artillery units and helicopters, the SEADF were able to effectively clear the area, ensuring the safety of the surrounding communities.

The helicopter units continued to provide critical air support, constantly surveying the surrounding area for any potential threats and neutralizing any enemy reinforcements that attempted to approach or flee from the camp. Meanwhile, the artillery units remained on standby, prepared to engage any targets that were identified by the troops on the ground.

After a few minutes, around 30 of the remaining rebels who had either surrendered or been captured were lined up in the open grounds of the now-destroyed rebel camp. The Southeast Asian troops seemed lackluster in their efforts to secure the prisoners, with only a few guards pointing their guns at the rebels as if they were invincible. However, they weren't the only ones keeping watch, as helicopters hovered in the sky, providing a warning to anyone who dared to make a move.

The battalion commander immediately disembarked from the legacy Huey, which had been recommissioned en masse and was now providing the bulk of the reserve and overseas policing efforts for ASEAN's regional stability in Philades. This responsibility fell to ASEAN after the end of the ASEAN Parpaldian war, which left them with numerous regional and overseas issues to address. Despite being hefty and expensive, ASEAN could not withdraw from Philades as it risked a continental-scale civil war with disastrous consequences from a moral, political, and humanitarian perspective. Therefore, they remained in the former Parpaldian empire, working to maintain stability and prevent further conflict.

"Sir, all clear," the lieutenant in front of him saluted, showcasing the captured weapons and paraphernalia of the rebels. Among the items were muskets, camouflaged clothing, swords, and even books that had been supplied by ASEAN, translated by Muish, and sold to allied countries, which mostly contained entertaining illustrations.

The battalion commander nodded immediately. "Who's in charge here? Who is the most senior among you?" he asked the group of huddled prisoners. However, there was no answer, and someone even clicked their tongue in annoyance.

The battalion commander raised his eyebrow at the lack of response and the disrespectful gesture. He walked up to the prisoner who clicked their tongue and said sternly, "Is there a problem?"

The prisoner sneered at him and said, "We don't recognize your authority. We are fighting for our land and our people, and we will continue to do so, no matter how many of us you capture."

The battalion commander maintained his composure and replied calmly, "I understand that you have grievances, but violence and rebellion are not the solution. ASEAN is committed to working towards a peaceful resolution for all parties involved."

The prisoner scoffed and said, "Peaceful resolution? Your people have been exploiting our resources and suppressing what's rightfully ours! We will never bow down to your imperialist agenda, this is parpaldia! This is our territory! Invaders!." The prisoner's defiant outburst was not unexpected, as it had become a common sight among the captured rebels. They often played the victim and spouted ridiculous accusations against their captors. The Southeast Asians, however, just laughed wryly at his words.

The battalion commander sighed and shook his head. The prisoner's accusations of exploitation and imperialism were ironic, given that the empire had invaded and conquered this land, despite its lack of historical or geographical ties to the region. He knew that words alone would not bridge the divide between the rebel group and ASEAN. Escalating the conflict with facts would also be unfruitful, as the rebels appeared to be caught up in a state of pure madness and unlikely to answer directly.

"Escort them to the transport vehicles and take them to a secure location for processing and interrogation," the battalion commander instructed the guards.

"Huh!? Bastards! You don't have the right to detain us! This is our territories! You fucking invaders! Heretical. Diabolic. murderers!." However, the rebel continued to shout hysterically, claiming that they had no right to detain them, that they were invaders and heretical diabolic murderers.

The lieutenant then approached the battalion commander and showed him a crumpled piece of paper. "Sir, it's been a week since we began and captured various contrabands, but we found this among their belongings," he said, "it's meth." opening the paper to reveal a small amount of methamphetamine.

"They are high on drugs?" the battalion commander asked, surprised, while observing the prisoner in question with interest.

"Yes, probably to deal with the lack of sleep due to our constant pursuit. Some of the people here are likely experiencing traumatic experiences such as shell shock or PTSD after being bombed day and night during the war, or perhaps more recently, using it to stabilize themselves," the lieutenant replied.

"Where did they get it?" the battalion commander asked, determined to find the source and put an end to the spread of drugs in the region.

"It came from the north, but we haven't pinpointed the exact location yet," the lieutenant replied apologetically.

"Understood," the battalion commander replied, taking note of the information. "We'll have to increase our efforts to locate and eliminate the source of this drug trade. It's only adding to the instability of this region."

He turned back to the rebel prisoner who was still ranting and raving. "Take him away," he said to the guards. "And make sure he's searched thoroughly before being transported."

The lieutenant nodded and signaled for the guards to take the prisoner away. As the prisoners were led away, the battalion commander turned to the Lt. and said, "Get a report together and send it up the chain of command. We need to keep them informed about the situation on the ground."

The Lieutenant nodded and quickly got to work, gathering information from the ground troops and compiling a detailed report for the higher-ups. Meanwhile, the battalion commander surveyed the area, making sure that all traces of the rebel encampment were cleared and that there were no more threats in the immediate vicinity.

It was a small victory, but it was a step towards the ultimate goal of achieving lasting peace and stability in the region.

The successful operations against the remaining rebel factions in the region continued for the next few days with SEADF troops gaining support from the local communities who provided intelligence on rebel movements and hideouts. The SEADF troops eliminated several key rebel leaders and captured dozens of fighters, while also focusing on eradicating the spread of drugs. Thanks to their efforts, the region started to see a significant reduction in rebel activity, and people began to feel safer. However, the work was far from over as there were still pockets of resistance that being backed by unknown factions, still needed to be dealt with.

Notif:

I intended to put the explanation for the reason why Mu got uranium stuff BS shells, but I already made an actual excerpt chapter for that. So I found it unnecessary and also realized it's too long too, I could literally make a chapter section sole for it, 500+ words? So I didn't. For the record. It's more like refreshments for the information of Mu, and some added lore for them. Either to make it as full chapter on main publishing or other book as side story is still pending if I found it convenient or troublesome to put in either way. Lastly, If I put the information prematurely, it's like making me desperately defending my long ass lame excuse so, meh...
