strong-willed and fearless, isabelle is not afraid to speak her mind, nor will she hesitate to defend her family. she is undeniably loyal to her family and friends. as a half-werewolf, isabelle inherited severe anger issues with a snarky attitude, but she has shown to have compassion to those who return kindness. isabelle is a completely selfless person and hated when the people she thought were her friends killed finn and kol for their own selfish gain, two people she cared for. isabelle has shown to be vengeful as she magically locked elena in her vampire soul, so the cure would not cure her vampirism.
isabelle's impending motherhood has also made her more tender and dedicated to keeping her child safe. she has also expressed a desire to raise her child alongside atlas. she is able to handle herself very well despite her delicate state, even holding her own against threats like mikael.
isabelle has a deep hatred for the witches of new orleans (except davina claire), partly because they used her for their own selfishness, as well as the fact that a member of their coven, céleste dubois, cursed her pack, and mainly because the witches tried to kill her unborn child.
isabelle died shortly after giving birth to her daughter, but her soulmate bond to atlas revived her. although her daughter's blood was in her system, she and atlas' connection kept her from becoming part vampire. when she awakes, she shows the ability to know where her baby is, even if she is hidden from her by a powerful spell. isabelle is also a very protective mother; it is especially shown in the chapter where she kills genevieve out of revenge, because she tried to kill her daughter, hope mikaelson. she selflessly puts her daughter's safety and fate before her own needs by giving up her daughter to rebekah, even if it breaks her heart.
isabelle's hatred for the witches became worse than ever after their attempt to kill her newborn daughter.
isabelle goes on a rampage against those for making her give up hope. she goes down a dark path, becoming ruthless, cold, and cruel. when she kills francesca, this seems to impact her immensely, causing her to lose her temper and go on a spree of tearing up hope's nursery. she states that she doesn't feel any better. she wishes to go back to her old life where she was happy with the lunar wolf pack she was adopted into. atlas takes on a role of comforting her and helps her cope.
losing her husband, jaxon, has become a turning point for isabelle, as she stubbornly refused to embrace her deeply passionate love for atlas as she feels it is an insult to her husband's memory as well as resorting to effortlessly murdering every single member of the strix who had a hand in jaxon's death. however, she has not gone completely off the rails as she was able to help camille process her new identity as a vampire and continues to work alongside the mikaelsons in fending off their enemies.
getting back together with atlas has also improved to some degree, showing appreciation for him not leaving her side as they and klaus investigated lucien's clandestine activities and even following closely after her lover and best friend to aid in the fight against lucien and aurora.
