ARIA
I haven't visited my friends after the incident at Angela's house. It's a very difficult situation when a friendship is being forced into love. I should have never kissed him back, now he thinks I led him on. I talk to Janice once in a while, she understands me and misses me. I just wish Jamie will just be happy for me.
It was a freezing rain outside and yes I had opened the box Colton gave me. It was his spare key to his loft. I am waiting for a cab to go to his place. He is currently on a rehearsal and I wanted to reach his place first before he gets home to surprise him with home cooked meal.
After 30 minutes I reached his place. I stepped onto the elevator and got off the third floor. I started placing the key in the door knob. It was foggy on the windows as I got inside. I opened them to let some cool breeze in the place.
"Hello?" Just trying to make sure if I am alone.
Luckily nobody answered. I placed down the grocery bags I was holding to start cutting and preparing dinner. I am making salmon with tomatoes. I started marinating the salmon with lemon and salt. As I cut the garlic, onions and tomatoes. I started cooking the couscous and place a pot with water to boil on the stove for the asparagus.
After 15 minutes I started frying the salmon then on the other pan I sautéed the onions, garlic and tomatoes. After the tomatoes are cooked I placed the salmon on it and let it simmer for at least 5 minutes more. Everything is almost done. I started setting the table. Then I turned off the stove.
I realized I smelled like a chef. Lol. So I decided to hop on the shower real quick and I went to Colton's drawers and pulled a white plain shirt. Just wearing my panties underneath. Damn, I look hot!
I quickly returned to the living room it has been two hours since I got here. I sat on a very comfy bean bag and started combing my hair. I can hear the honking cars and traffic from the streets. I can also see the ocean from a far. It's a very nice view.
I must've fallen asleep waiting, when I felt my phone fell from my hands. I grabbed it quick and checked the time. It's almost four hours that I'm here. I started to worry. Not even five minutes, I heard noises outside the door. It must be him.
I stayed seated. When he opened the door I was the one surprised. He was with a girl.
"Oh! Aria, what a surprise!" He went to kiss me. The girl was staring at me. She is like a model with long blond curly hair. Wearing a hanging tank top a leather half jacket. Fitted leather black pants and red converse shoes. She has army hat on she looks so cool!
"This is Amanda, she's going on tour with us in three months." She tried to extend a hand.
I shook her hands. I was disappointed. It's a good thing I came here, what if I didn't? They will be left alone by themselves? It's not that I don't trust him but what is she doing here anyways?
"I better head out." She told Colton. "You don't have to, we can still practice, just give me time to freshen up." He replied.
"I didn't know you're gonna have a visitor I would've prepared more.." As I pointed the dining table.
"Oh, you cooked? That is so sweet baby." He hugged me tight.
"I'm sure it would fit all three of us." Colton said as I started grabbing another plate.
"Sorry, I can come back tomorrow. Thanks for the offer." She turned to look at me.
"Are you sure?" Colton asked. Why does he have to ask her twice? I thought. Leave if you like.
"Ok. I'll walk you out." He started standing up from the dining table. Does he have to? She has two feet she can walk by herself. I thought again.
"Baby, I'll be back in five." He kissed me in the cheek and went out the door with her.
"Nice meeting you!" I yelled. Clearly she doesn't like me as well.
After what seemed like more than five minutes he finally came back.
"I'm sorry about Amanda. She can be a snob at times." Colton explained.
"Oh not at all." The feeling is mutual. I thought.
"I can be like that too, especially if I'm surprised and disappointed at the same time." I annoyingly answered.
Colton stared at me. Observing me while cutting the salmon.
"This is really good, Aria." I can sense he's trying to change the subject.
"Why aren't you eating much? It's so yummy!" He looked at my plate.
"I lost my appetite." Which is in fact true.
I wanted to ask more about her "friend" but my blood will definitely boil in anger.
"Aria, come here." As he motioned me to sit on his lap. I did just that. Oh my God! He smells so good! He hugged me real tight.
"Do I smell jealousy?" He asked while tickling me. Okay you got me.
"Why is there a reason to be?" I fired back.
"You don't usually display this kind of mood it's unusual. I can feel it you know?" Man. He is good.
This time he stood up, turned on the radio and pulled me closer to him.
"Dance with me." I tiptoed and swirl around him. He does know how to put on some good vibes.
After dancing we lay on the couch. Watched tv. I suddenly realized the time it was 10 pm. I have to go home. I stood up looking at Colton he was fast asleep. I started getting dressed. I shook him a bit, trying to wake him up.
"Baby, don't leave." He murmurs.
"I'll see you tomorrow." I kissed him on the cheeks. He is out cold. I left his apartment with a heavy heart, still thinking about that Amanda girl. I cannot let him go this time. I have to fight for what's mine.
As soon as I returned home I saw Mom and Dad in the dining table having a midnight snack with no other than my friends, Angela and Janice. I was so surprised and happy to see them. I ran towards them and gave them both a hug.
"Where have you been young lady?" Janice asked.
"Why do you ask, of course with Mr. rockstar!" Angela teased.
"Hi Mom Hi Dad!" I gave them both a peck on the cheeks.
"Both of you, let's head upstairs!" I pointed to Angela and Janice.
As soon as I closed the door. They both dragged me in my bathroom and locked the door.
"Aria, tell us the truth are you on the pill?" I was shocked and blushed at her accusation.
"That is none of your business." I replied.
"Hello, when you had sex on my kitchen bathroom I make it my business." She says.
"So you came here to ask me that?" I was pissed.
" We're just kidding! Hahahah!" They both laughed. We went out of the bathroom as I hit their shoulders with my hands.
"Ugh!! I hate you both." We started the pillow fight on top of my bed. We got exhausted and Janice broke the silence.
"So, seriously was he that good?" She started tickling me.
"Stop asking me those questions!" I blushed.
"Well, that's what we're here for to be nosy!" They laughed again.
"So, the verdict is?" Angela asked while Janice do the drum roll.
"Excellent!" I answered. Then they both screamed which almost hurt my ears.
We sat at the bottom of the bed. I started thinking about Amanda. I told both of them what happened. That I did some groceries and surprised him by cooking a meal. Which led to Amanda that I was having doubts. Both of them suggested that it's time to move in since he already gave me a key.
I kept thinking about it the whole night as I looked at both my friends who decided to have a sleepover and were both snoring beside me.
I went downstairs to get some water. I saw mom still awake watching TV.
"Hey, honey come sit here beside me for a bit." She called me as soon as she saw me about to head upstairs.
I leaned on my mom's chest deciding should I tell her what's bugging me or not?
"Aria." She finally read my mind. "If you have something to say tell me, you know I cannot sleep as well when you have something you want to share yet you're having second thoughts." She carefully explained.
"Mom, I love Colton so much I wanted to move in with him." "Will you allow me? Will Dad be mad at me if I follow my heart?" I almost whisper as tears fell from my eyes.
"Oh honey, you don't have to cry." She wiped the tears in my cheeks.
"It's hard because I will miss you and Dad but I cannot sleep in peace when I am away with him." I explained.
"It's being in love, that's what you feel, it's empowering you. Just be careful what you wish for be careful with your decisions, because whatever you do in the end you will suffer if you make bad choices."
"But then you cannot learn on your own if I keep you here with me forever. If it's time to set you free I am more than willing to do so. But keep in mind that we will be here with you always anytime you need us as long as we live."
I cried more and hugged my mom real tight.
"I will talk to your Dad, you will know his answer tomorrow." "For now get some rest." She kissed me on the forehead. I went upstairs Angela and Janice are still both sound asleep.
I looked at my phone Colton called me seven times. Plus text messages. I started texting him since my friends are asleep.
Colton: hey, baby, I woke up you were gone are you at home?
Me: yeah.
Colton: I want to hear your voice. I'm calling you now.
Me: No! Don't. I declined his call.
Colton: Why? Are you still mad about Amanda?
Me: No. Because when I got home my friends Angela and Janice were talking to my parents and they decided to sleep over. Right now they are sound asleep in my bed.
Colton: Really? Lucky them! I miss you already.
Me: I miss you too.
Colton: Ok I will let you sleep now I will go back to bed too. Thanks for the awesome dinner. I love you.
Me: I love you too.
