I woke up to the amazing smell of eggs and bacon coming from the kitchen. Spencer must have gotten up early to make breakfast. I walked into the kitchen,
"Wow Spence, it smells ama-" I began, but it wasn't Spencer. It was my mum.
"Hey honey!" She grinned at me,
"How are you here?" I asked, I ran up to her and hugged her tight. "They told me you were dead!"
"I am, silly," she said.
Then I opened my eyes. At first my vision was blurry but I could just make out the outline of a face.
"Spencer?" I tried to say, but nothing came out.
"Shhh," she said "don't try to talk!" It was Spencer. I'd recognise her voice anywhere. My vision cleared and I saw her face, suddenly I felt a little better.
"That was quite a crash," She said, but she was smiling, maybe even laughing a little,
"You've got three broken ribs and you've got a concussion," she said, "and I've got an arm that's broken in three places. I'm just so glad that you're ok." A single tear rested on my cheek.
"I'm sorry," my voice came out as a hoarse whisper. She looked down at me and shook her head.
"Didn't I tell you that I never wanted to hear you say that?"
