The woman who watches my house from her tree is odd
She stares at me through my window and analyzes my moves
Her gaze keeps me unnerved and shaky.
But I can't get rid of her.
I'll buy shades but they're ripped off the frame,
I change bedrooms but she appears.
But what scares me the most is I think she's getting closer.
The tree started across the street in the abandoned yard.
It was an old willow tree that looked like it was always about to collapse.
But one day the new homeowners cut it down.
From that day on it kept appearing.
No matter how many times they cut it,
It was like the tree was demonic.
The tree was close to the house, causing damage.
And maybe it's just me, but I see it inch closer every day.
And the woman in the tree won't stop staring at me.
She's in the same position every time
And it's scary knowing she does nothing
But stare at me all day.
I painted my windows black,
And a month later, when it was summer, I opened the window.
And the tree was gone.
I stared at the woman in the same position as if the tree remained there
I fell back scared.
Because this time she was face-to-face with me.
