Every midnight, if you're quiet enough, you can hear the ticking of a clock.
Only for a brief moment, and only at 12.
For years, I've tried finding the noise and calling friends over to help. They say they hear nothing, but I know there is a ticking sound. There has to be.
Why am I the only one who can hear the ticking?
Why is it only at midnight?
Am I imagining it? Am I going crazy?
Then one night, it stopped.
Silence. For the first time in 8 years, it stopped.
I went to my bedroom door to see if it had maybe gotten quiet, but it was gone.
The ticking was gone.
When I tried calling my friends to see if one of them knew what happened, they all had the same answer.
