As Yn and Sarah approached the city of Newtopia, they waded through the crystal-clear waters that surrounded the city. The sun was high in the sky, casting a warm glow across the water, creating a picturesque scene that Yn couldn't help but admire, as the warmth of the day enveloped them. It had been a day since their adventure in the ruins, and they had taken the time to rest and recover before setting out for Newtopia. In front of him, Sarah was wading through the water with a graceful, almost dance-like step. She swung her arms around, made a little twirl here and there and hummed a little melody.

Yn couldn't help but smile at Sarah's carefree nature, but he also couldn't help but feel a little anxious. This was a big city, and he wasn't entirely sure what to expect.

"Can you believe it? We actually made it to Newtopia!" Sarah exclaimed, a wide grin stretching across her face.

"What? Did you think we wouldn't?", Yn asked, playfully raising an eyebrow and obviously catching Sarah off guard.

"Well, I mean...", She began to stutter but Yn just laughed.

"I'm messing with you", he said and then turned towards Newtopia, scanning the towering and moss covered walls. "It does look beautiful, but how are we going to get in?"

"Don't worry," Sarah said, splashing around. "I've got this." She waded through the water, leading Yn towards the walls. As they approached the city walls, Sarah called out to the guards, "Hello there! My friend and I are here to enter Newtopia!"

"And what business do you have in Newtopia?" One of the guards asked, eyeing them suspiciously.

"We want to meet the King and your Chief Ranger!," Sarah replied with a grin.

The guard shook his head. "I'm sorry, but we can't just let anyone in. You'll need to have an audience with the King."

"Oh, come on now!"Sarah called out and tried other tactics to get the guards to let them in. But nothing seemed to Work. The guards just didn't seem interested in letting them in. But then, one of the guards squinted at Sarah and said, "Hey, wait a Minute aren't you that thief that has been causing Trouble in Town?!"

Yn's eyes widened and he looked at Sarah in shock, but she didn't seem fazed by this at all.

"I wouldn't call myself a thief... More of a treasure Hunter!" Sarah called back, much to Yns dismay. He grabbed her arm and pulled her Close.

"Sarah! What are you doing?" He asked through clenched teeth. "Are you really a thief"

"Kind of", Sarah replied nonchalantly and then turned back to the Wall. Yn watched her in disbelief.

"Who is this with you?" The guard asked and Sarah's expression turned smug as she crossed her arms. "Why, this is my trusty companion and partner in crime, Yn. We're just looking for a place to rest our weary bones, nothing more." She put an arm around Yns shoulder, bringing him closer to her.

Before Yn could even react, a group of guards had descended upon them, grabbing hold of Sarah and Yn and dragging them towards the city. Yn struggled against the guards' grip, yelling at Sarah. "What the hell, Sarah?! You didn't tell me you were a thief!"

Sarah just laughed, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Oh, come on, Yn. You didn't think I was just out there, did you?"

Yn was seething with anger, but he couldn't deny that he was also a little impressed with Sarah's daring nature

◈◈◈

Marcy Wu, Chief Ranger of the Newtopian Night Guard, was strolling through the bustling streets of Newtopia, lost in deep thoughts. She looked down at the diary in her hand, flipping through the pages until she found the one she was looking for. It was a picture of her, Anne, and Sasha, all smiling and huddled together in a group hug. Marcy couldn't help but feel a pang of nostalgia as she looked at the picture. It had been a long time since they had all been together, and she missed her friends dearly. She couldn't help but wonder how her friends were doing, if they were well and happy.

She shook her head, trying to push the thoughts aside. She couldn't afford to dwell on the past. Marcy had a job to do, and she took it very seriously. As Chief Ranger of the Night Guard, it was her duty to protect the citizens of Newtopia from any threats that may arise. She only had the job for a few weeks now, but she was dang good at it. Mainly because she was just roleplaying as an artificer-rogue and everything seemed to go along with it.

Just as she was about to close her diary and focus on the task at hand, she tripped over a rock that was placed unfortunately, and stumbled into another guard. "Oof, sorry!" She immediately apologized, once she regained her composure, but soon realized that she made the guard trip and fall into another, and then another... Marcy watched in dismay and sorry, as the guards all stood up again, dusted themselves off and then looked angrily at Marcy.
"I'm sorry!" She yelled again as the guards turned around and went on with their way.

Marcy sighed. She wasn't going to sugarcoat it. She was a clumsy mess, without Anne or Sasha to keep an eye out for. Especially when she was in her flow. She knew that. But there wasn't really anything she could do about it. Changing this was hard, and so she just focused on what she was good at; being a role playing nerd!

Just as she was about to continue on her way a voice interrupted her thoughts. "Ah, just who I was looking for." Marcy turned around to see Lady Olivia standing before her, her expression unreadable. She wore her navy blue hair tied into a bun with a shell band and her clothes consisted of the same old purple and yellow taffeta dress with scale-like designs stitched into a pattern. She also wore white gloves. Marcy wondered If she ever wore anything else.

"Hello, Lady Olivia!" Marcy gave a little wave and put away her Journal. "What's up?"

"There is something Andrias wants you to see."

"What is it?" Marcy asked, excitement creeping into her voice.

Olivia gestured for Marcy to follow her, and the two of them began walking towards the dungeon. Marcy couldn't help but feel a little apprehensive. She had been in the dungeon before, of course, but it wasn't exactly her favorite place in the world.

As they descended the steps to the dungeon, Marcy tried to keep her nerves at bay. She didn't know what was waiting for her down there, but she trusted Olivia. The two of them had worked together some time now, and Marcy knew that Olivia was one of the most trustworthy people in Newtopia.

Once they reached the bottom, Olivia led Marcy to a cell and her eyes widened in surprise. Inside the cell was a figure slumped against the wall, their face hidden by the shadows.

◈◈◈

"Who is this?" Yn could hear a voice ask, but he wasn't about to Look Up. Why should he? He was in a cell, and that was enough humiliation for the day. Maybe they would make it quick and just put him under the guillotine or whatever they do with people who associate with criminals around here.

"We thought you might know", another voice replied. Still, Yn didn't bother to look up. It was no use anyway. What was he gonna see, more newts? He really didn't need that! He saw enough newts for the last of his days. He shuffled around a bit, pulling his knees towards him and making the chains on his leg rattle against the stone floor. He slung his arms around his legs and started at the floor, as he listened to the conversation between the two people, who he identified as female, until a familiar voice spoke up.

"That's Yn", Sarah said, her voice cheery as usual. Of course she was. How was she not able to be at least a little bit serious right now? He sighed softly.

"Oh so he- wait, how did you get out of your cell?" One of the voices asked, surprised. And that finally made Yn perk up. He lifted his head and looked towards the people in front of his cell; Sarah, an unfamiliar newt woman and...then his heart skipped a beat. A human girl stood right there with them! She had short, shiny black hair, which probably got held up by the green hair clip she wore. The next thing Yn noticed was her...fantasy-esque clothing. Somehow reminded him of a ranger. Though the cape seemed impractical. But the mini-crossbow she wore on her wrist was cool!

"Oh, Olivia", another voice said, pulling Yn out of his thoughts. Behind Marcy a huge Newt approached. He wore armor with an x shaped mark on his abdomen and a crown on his head. The King. YN thought as he continued to speak. "You know that it's almost impossible to keep her caged up."

"Oh, Andrias", Sarah said and followed up with a giggle. "You know me so well."

"You got caught many times already, ánd everytime you escaped. It's hard not to know your strengths after that." The King, who was apparently called Andrias, replied with a chuckle himself. Yn didn't know why, but he immediately had a whole lot of respect for this huge newt. Something about him just impressed Yn. But he couldn't tell what it was. "So is this human really, your companion and partner in crime?" King Andrias asked and Sarah replied with a giggle.

"Companion, yes. Partner in crime, no" She said and waved dismissively. "I don't think he ever stole anything, to be honest." The look on her face turned into something a little more thoughtful and it seems like she was looking at nothing. Yn had noticed this look several times. But he never understood which situation caused it. King Andrias laughed in reply.

"Well, then" he walked towards the cell and out of instinct Yn flinched and pressed himself against the wall behind him. But Andrias just smiled at him, as he opened the door and then took the chain from Yns foot. Surprised, he looked up at the king and felt a bit of confusion in his chest. He really didn't expect to be let out so early. But he wasn't gonna complain. Slowly and carefully he stood up, wary to not make any hasty movements, which seemed to amuse Andrias. The King let out a loud laugh and pated Yn on his back. The force of the big hand made Yn stumble forward and out of his cell. He caught himself, let out a sigh and then looked up at the three people in front of him; Sarah, the newt woman, who apparently was named Olivia, and the human girl. The locked eyes for a moment and then she smiled brightly and held a hand out to him,

"Hi there, I'm Marcy!" She said cheerily. Not as much as Sarah, but still a little too much for Yn. But he wasn't going to be impolite, so he took her hand.

"Yn", he replied and Marcy immediately began to energetically shaked his hand.

"I've got so many questions!" She said, pulling him a bit closer. "How did you get here? How long are you here?" She gasped, her eyes sparkling with wonder. "Wee you maybe born here and there are other humans in amphibia"

"I-" Yn began, but was immediately interrupted by King Andrias.

"How about we take this conversation into my Throne room, shall we?"

Yn let out a sigh of relief, when Marcy let go of his hand, she had a surprisingly tight grip, and looked up at the king who smiled down at him. He shot him a quick thankful nod, before asking the important question. "What about my stuff? My backpack?"

"You will get them back, once we are done with the formalities, don't you worry." Andrias replied and Yn sighed. There probably was nothing he could do so he decided to ask anymore. And after a few more words from Andrias, they all made their way up to the Kings Throne Room.

◈◈◈

The throne room was huge with big pillars on the sides. The throne, on which Andrias now sat down, was formed like a crab with a backrest that looked like a coral. Yn was awestruck to say the least. His heart was pounding and he felt like he was at the introduction of an Anime or a RPG where he is the main character, and the king was about to give him his first quest. But not everything was fantasy and so he was pulled out of his thoughts, when the king spoke up again.

"So, Yn" Andrias said, and Yn immediately responded by standing straight and looking directly at him. The King chuckled in response. "No need to be nervous, I, we, just wasnt to know how exactly you got here. According to Marcy, there was only one music boy"

'Music box' Yn tilted his head. How could a music box send someone here? Was it magical? Probably, that would be the only explanation...Though not really sensible. Magic didn't exist and even if it did, it would've probably already been in the news, if somebody randomly threw around fireballs or began to fly. Then again, a whole civilization of highly intelligent newts, that can talk, fight and understand the and understand the principle of monarchy should not exist either. But here they were. As Yn stood there, lost in thoughts, he felt the eyes of everyone else on him. He looked around in confusion and blinked a few times.. "...What?"

"He's still waiting for an answer, you know" Sarah whispered.

"An answer?" Yn questioned before he realized. "Oh, of course. Sorry. I landed her after a failed test of my parents. They built a portal and it began to go haywire. Now I am here."

"A portal you say?" Andrias asked and Yn nodded in response, as he felt Marcy getting all excited next to him. He looked at her through the corner of his eye and just knew that she wanted to bombard him with all kinds of questions. But luckily it seemed like Andrias had the same questions, because once Yn began to answer them, Marcy slowly began to calm down. It were the normal kind of questions you would ask in this situation; like how Yn survived in the wild, how he met Sarah and so on and so forth. Once the King was done asking his questions he nodded.
"Good. You and Marcy seem to follow the same goal. So you can stay here. Provided you actually do something to go towards this goal and help us with our problems." Yn tilted his head.

"What kind of problems?"

"Let that be the concern of tomorrow. For now I guess you must be tired and want to chill a bit", after he said that Andrias looked over to Marcy. "Did I use that right?" Yn couldn't help but cringe at this. He didn't show it, at least he hoped that he didn't, but Andrias talking like that reminded him of his history teacher, who tried to stay young but failed miserably. Marcy didn't seem to think the same though because she smiled up at the huge newt and gave him two thumbs up. This seemed to be enough for Andrias. He leaned back into his chair and smiled. "Yn, for tonight, you and Marcy will share her room. Tomorrow your own room should be ready." Yn nodded, even though he didn't want to. It would not be fair to have pretensions after the king was already so hospitable. Even though he really didn't want to share a room with this girl. Not because he already hated her or something, but because she was a girl and he was a boy and..He shook his head and then looked over to Marcy who didn't seem to share his feelings at all. She was smiling brightly as she jumped and down excitedly.

"Roomies!" Was the only word Yn could understand from her mostly incomprehensible wave of words that left her lips. He sighed and rubbed his forehead. Immediately regretting every decision he made up to this point. His regret didn't get better, when Sarah nudged him with her elbow and gave him a teasing smirk.

"No", Was Yns only answer, as they left the throne room.

◈◈◈

It was already evening when Yn settled into his shared room with Marcy. His backpack leaned against a wall as he laid down his sleeping bag and made himself ready to go to sleep.

"Hey roomie", A voice then called out when he was done fluffing up his pillow. He turned around and saw Marcy smiling brightly at him. She has changed into her pajamas consisting of a simple shirt that was a little too big for her and a simple pair of pants.

"Hey", he simply replied as he finished setting up his sleeping bag. Ater he was done he sat down on it and completely faced Marcy. "What's up?" She looked at him for a moment and then sat down in front of him.

"Wanna play a game?" She asked, smiling. "Haven't had anyone to play something since I got here. Except for Andrias. But to always play with the same person gets boring"

Yn shrugged. "Sure, why not. Don't have anything better to do right now." Marcy smiled and then pulled out a chess board from under her band and began to set it up between them. "Chess?"

"Flipwart." Marcy replied as she finished setting up the game. "It's like chess, but still a bit different."

"Alright", Yn said with a nod. And as Marcy began to explain the rules to him, she sounded very excited, he looked out of the window and sighed softly.

Hopefully, he would now be able to find a way back home.
