"I asked you something vaidehi " Vishal inquired again
" Huh … No .. I mean, yes i met him in school "'

" What happened bhai ?"
"Today the PA of Dr thapar called me , he informed me that Dr thapar along with his wife wanted to meet our family. As their only son intrested in marrying you ."
"What?.. " vaidehi was shocked to hear this she never thought varun could act so fast with his decision
"I was surprised to know this too, but now they want to meet you personally, I mean mr and mrs Thapar. So I agreed for tomorrow though it's the weekend so it will be easy to make the arrangements ."
Vaidehi didn't reply as she doesn't know what she should respond . Vishal just patted her head and left form the room
The next morning everyone was busy with the arrangements ,Uma Devi rearranged the living room with the help of Ganga and Vishal got some snacks from the market and some expensive sweet boxes .
Whereas mala was examining the circus with no excitement on her face she was shocked as well as disappointed to know that the well known family of Dr thapar asked for vaidehi 's hand .As she heard about the good looks of varun and she also had an idea of vaidehi 's dreams about her life partner.

The moment Varun announced his interest in vaidehi the thapar couple was shocked . But they decided to go with their son's choice so mr thapar did a background check on the Verma family
The moment he told Mrs Thapar about Vaidehi's background . Mrs . Nalini thapar couldn't held her rage
"If he has gone mad , the girl is not anywhere near our standards . Her brother runs a medical shop ,can you believe it a small medical shop . I think we should say no to this proposal now "
" No we will not do any sort of this ,we are going to met them tomorrow i already informed them "
"What?really !! Do you realize what you are even doing Ajay, you will marry our only son to a low class girl .Just give it a thought how will you introduce her family to our relatives . Oh God, I am already frightened by the thought only . No my son will not get married to this girl and that's final "
"Yes, Varun will not marry her but it will be them who will say no to this proposal . You knew how adamant Varun could be so we have to agree with him on his face at least "
"But,why will they say no and Varun will also be present there to support them"
" No, Varun is leaving for Delhi tonight to attend some friends' engagement . And until he return we will be done with our job "
Nalini smirked at her husband's sharp mind . And they did a full proof plan in which they will not get accused to deny this alliance

It was evening when a BMW halted in front of Verma house
Vishal and Uma Devi welcomed the Thapar couple politely
Mr and Mrs thapar greeted them in same way.the moment they entered the small living room of Verma house .,the couple gave a disgusting look at the interiors of the house
Old style five seater sofa, a wooden center table. In name of decorations some hand made paintings were hanging on the walls
Mala also greeted the couple in formality and got settled on a single sofa
Ganga served water to the couple which they denied politely . ,So uma Devi asked ganga to serve the snacks soon the center table was filled with the plates of different delicacies
" I hope Mr Verma that we didn't disturbed you ,I know this meeting is arranged on short notice but what can I say my son wanted us to meet your sister ..what's her name ?"
" Vaidehi "
" Yes vaidehi .. so we have to visit you ."
"It's ok Mr thapar actually yesterday only vaidehi told me about meeting Varun ."
Vishal signaled mala to bring vaidehi in the living room .
Mala gave a nod and went to vaidehi:s room
She found Vaidehi all dressed up in a beautiful silk saree sitting in front of the dressing table , fidgeting with her fingers. She was missing Archana 's existence during this hard time but Archana was at her in-laws' place to attend some wedding.
The same moment ganga enters the room and passed the tray full of teacup towards vaidehi
Vaidehi held it with shivering hands she was nervous to meet the thapar couple
Vaidehi arrived in the living room and mala was behind her , she greeted the guest with a nod and then forwarded the tea
The couple held the cup with a calm face ,to be honest they were awestruck by her natural beauty, no wonder that their son fell for her at first sight
The situation has been different if vaidehi "s family status fits the thapar family but now they are more concerned about their family status
The couple asked some normal questions to vaidehi like her education ,her work. They were doing all this for formality sake. Whereas vaidehi was intimidated by the personality of the couple , she tried to overcome her nervousness and politely answered all their questions
After the conversation ,Dr thapar started his discussions
" Mr Verma there is no doubt that your sister has all the qualities that we are searching in our daughter in law .and for us nothing matters more than our sons happiness "
The Verma family who were still skeptical.,about this proposal were surprised to hear about their consent whereas vaidehi was still trying to believe what she heard
" Well we will also like to meet Varun , why didn't he came today? "
" Actually he is in Delhi to attend some close friends wedding , Varun is here for only 15 days , we went to get him married before he leave for Singapore "
"15 days isn't it too soon i mean we have to do so many preparations "
" I understand but after this Varun will not return to India for two years as he is incharge of some new project in Singapore "
" Oh ok " Uma devi gave a assuring nod to Vishal to ask further about the wedding plans
"Well Mr Verma we don't support dowry system but as you all know our family is blessed with name and status in this society . Varun is our only son so we also have dreams about his big day "
" Yes we understand " Vishal replied
" So we have decided that the engagement will be a small affair; only our close relatives will be invited . Approximately 200 people and yes we have already selected the venue, the marriott . It's a great place with great ambience and good food"
The Verma family were shocked to listen this as marriott was a five star hotel of indore and over budget for them
"marriott" Vishal whispered in worry
"Yes, but don't worry for wedding we selected Radisson blu ,and that will be grand wedding as we are expecting more than thousand guests"
Uma Devi shared a look at Vishal who was already tensed by this new information
" Mrs Verma one more thing ,please don't bother to buy gifts for us or our relatives . As they all are very choosy in the matter of gifts ,so it will be better that we will do all the shopping for gifts and will send you the bill later " Maliki commented in a sugar coated tone
Uma Devi doesn't know how to react ,still she asked hesitantly
" It will be better if you could give us an idea of the amount that will be spent in gifts "
" Nothing much hardly 10 to 12 lakhs "
Vaidehi blinked her eyes to believe what she was listening to , the demands of thapar family were not in reach of her family . Her brother is still struggling with the responsibilities of family and the loan of solankis .
The thapar family provided some more list of their demands in the name of their status and than told Vishal that they will talk the priest for the nearest date
The Verma family see off the couple politely the moment they left the house Vishal slumped on the sofa
Uma Devi was also worried about the long list of demands
Mala was the only one who enjoyed the show . She was glad that her sister's in-law didn't get her prince charming .
"Engagement in marriott, wedding in Radisson
And the amount for gifts .i think at least fifty lakh will be required for this wedding " mala commented
Vishal noticed her just sisters dull face and her unshed tears, so he reached to her and told her
"You like that boy right, don 't worry I will try to arrange the money. Nothing is more valuable than your happiness "
Vaidehi smiled the way her brother is concern for her happiness , even she knew that the demand list of Thapar family is impossible to match still he is ready to take a chance
Her thoughts broke by mala's harsh words
" Very nice to know that Vishal, so tell me what you have decided to sell this house or sell your shop or both after all it's more important to take care of your sister's choice and then how does we matter to you . But no matter what your sister should marry her prince charming. "
" Shut up!! … " Vishal roared in anger
"Bhai please, don't fight with bhabhi she is right we should not forget our limitations
Call them and tell them that we are not good enough to marry their only son. Just refuse for this marriage "
stating this vaidehi left for her room.and locked the door, she could hear the voices of her brother and mother who were calling her but she just wanted to be alone with her grief .
