Dear Mr.Right

I had the best first date ever, and to top it all off. I, Hayden Terrel, have a boyfriend. Literally, I think I did some witchcraft or something because he's exactly what I've always wanted. I don't wanna be annoying but...

My man my man my man my man my MAN.

"haymakers, I'm in my farmer era—look at me." I joked, again crouching to pick up the fruit, causing Yamir to laugh.

"Yamir say hi," I instructed.

"sup," he muttered, causing me to roll his eyes.

"turn the camera around so they can see your face dumb-dumb," I told him, laughing.

"Oh, my fault." He mumbled, then began following my instructions and turning the camera around.

"sup," Yamir repeated, then flipped the camera back over to me.

__________________________

•PAUSE•

After pressing pause on the video, I threw myself back against my bed and squealed.

I swear this boy was literally the finest man in the world and he had zero clue.

—and he was such a gentleman.

—and he was my boyfriend.

I've been on cloud nine since Saturday, nothing could bring me down at this point.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to see him much today at school though. That being because the school decided to give the entire football team the day off since they had a playoff game later today.

Didn't even know that was legal, or even a thing, but then again, our school treated our football team like European royalty—mostly due to Yamir.

Speaking of which, it was actually fine we didn't get to see each other. He texted me as much as he could, and we shared a call after I got out of school. Plus, I'd be seeing him at this game I was about to have my dad take me to.

All fine, there's no point in crying right?

My god, we've been together for about two days and I already miss him every second of the day.

Never have I resonated more with that tweet I saw on Twitter a while ago.

'I wish I was one of his balls so I could hang with him all-day'

The girls that get it, get it, that's all I can say.

Finally, after embarrassing myself enough in my own thoughts. I closed the recording I'd been watching all day of my date and went back to getting dressed.

Apparently, this game was a lot more important than I thought, even my dad knew about it prior to when I told him I'd need a ride.

So considering that I'm even more surprised they decided to have it on a damn Monday—when literally everyone had work and school the next morning.

My phone then began to ring, breaking me from my thoughts.

After glancing over at the contact name, I swiped over to answer it before heading to my closet.

"Hayden we're about to be on our way, Tania asked if you want her to pick you up after she gets me?" Angie asked.

"Oh yeah, that would work great," I replied, walking back over to my phone, spotting both Angie and Ashley in the Group FaceTime call.

I'm assuming Tania was the only one not here since she was driving.

"Okay, Ashley texts her—I'm putting on my makeup." Angie directed.

"I heard this game is gonna be packed, tonight—we secure new dick ladies and gents!" Ashley announced.

"Well hold on—" I spoke.

"Exactly!" Angie agreed at the same time.

"Oh okay, Hayden, what's the sitch' ?" Ashley questioned teasingly.

"No tea." I shrugged.

"Wait, oh my god," Angie spoke up.

"Is it carnival boy—did the two of you finally make it official?" Angie asked.

"Carnival boy?" Ashley asked.

"okay, when did this become interrogate Hayden night?" I asked.

"Are you finally gonna tell me who he is?" Angie then asked, "Being that he's your boyfriend and all now." She laughed.

"my business is my business for a reason." I replied as I buckled my jeans.

"well excuse me, Papi." She replied, laughing.

"Oh that's not a problem, let's investigate girly," Ashley told Angie.

"—Darren?" Ashley added.

"Nah, he doesn't give me gay vibes, maybe slightly homophobic honestly." Angie replied.

"those are usually the ones." Ashley laughed, "But still, your gaydar is usually better."

"Damonte?" Angie asked Ashley this time.

"I doubt it, he has a baby on the way, plus—he doesn't seem like Hayden's type." Ashley replied.

"Um hello, still here." I spoke up.

And how the hell did this girl think she knew what my type was?

"Should we start naming people on the basketball team?" Ashley asked.

"No, Hayden hasn't been to a game—doubt it's a basketball player." Angie spoke up.

"Am I muted?" I questioned.

"No we can hear you." Ashley reassured.

"Oh okay just making sure," I nodded, "seeing as you two are trying to find out who I'm talking to like I'm not right here." I responded.

"you won't tell us," Ashley replied, "wait, O.M.G don't tell me he's DL." She said in excitement.

"he's not...it's just not anyone's business—don't you bitches have a hobby or something!" I shot back, laughing.

"Okay well we know he's on the football team." Angie continued, ignoring me.

"You don't." I interjected.

"Well that confirms it." Angie snickered.

shit.

"We've already said two players, and since Hayden has been to a game then it must be someone who actually plays, and not a benchwarmer," Ashley spoke intuitively.

"Daniel?" Angie spoke.

Who the fuck is that, who the hell are any of these people?

"Nope, he's currently in my DM's, plus his people are like—super religious," Ashley told her.

"Oh, I got it!" Angie spoke, shocking me.

"—it's Kameron." She said confidently.

"O.M.G!" Ashley matched her excitement, "tall, dark, and handsome, it's totally him."

"Yep, he's the second-best player on the team, and he's not too much of a man whore, it has to be him." Angie added.

I then went back over to the camera to spot both of their faces, "damn, you guys got me." I played off.

"I knew it!" Ashley said excitedly.

"he's lying." Angie told her.

"oh..." the white girl mumbled.

"—well bitch who could it be, it's definitely not Yamir, I've never seen a boy more straight." Ashley sighed.

oh...

That left the call semi-silent, so Ashley called out Angie's name again.

"Ang.." Ashley said questioningly.

"yeah, it's not him," Angie mumbled, "he's like every girl's dream boy at this school, if he was gay we'd know."

Double oh...

"anyways, since the two of you are never gonna figure it out, I'm gonna hang up and I'll see you when Tania gets here," I told them both.

"Don't hang up, let us see your outfit first." Ashley pleaded.

"Ugh, fine," I mumbled, eyeing a shirt.

Just as I was about to throw it on, I got another call, this time from Yamir himself.

"Actually, on second thought—imma see you guys in the car!" I said quickly, hanging up with them so I could pick up the call from my boyfriend.

"Hello?" I answered with a smile.

" pretty-boy." He responded, placing a broad smile on my lips.

"—I just got to the school, I wanted to check on you." He asked.

"I'm about to leave now, I'm gonna ride with a couple of friends," I told him, finally putting on my shirt.

"okay, lemme know when you get here, and text me the section so I know where you're sitting." He instructed.

"I will," I told him as I eyed myself in the mirror.

"Okay love, I gotta go." He added.

"—send me pictures!" He added quickly, "I wanna see you."

"You're about to see me." I laughed.

"I wanna see you now." He emphasized.

I smirked and rolled my eyes as I replied, "Alright I guess..."

"you guess?" He teased.

"I'll take the pictures bubba', now don't you have a game to be preparing for?" I questioned back, blushing.

"you're right, I'll see you soon." He spoke.

"See you," I replied, and shortly after that, we ended the call.

For about five seconds I just stood still and stared into space with a gigantic Kool-Aid smile on my face.

My god, I know I seemed weak in the knees right now—and if I could stand up I would, but I fear this boy has me head over hills.

This is why I fought it for so long because now there was no turning back.

If I even thought something was going wrong, I might have to go all Kill Bill on him.

Thankfully for my own sake, I finally finished getting dressed and made it outside to carpool with Tania and Angie.

Ashley had her own car so she drove alone, which honestly I was happy to hear because she annoyed me.

Maybe that stems back to the fact I knew she wanted to fuck Yamir. I mean not that she even had a chance—but still.

"You look so hot, let me get a taste!" Angie joked as I hopped in the car.

"Fine as hell, you're definitely taking some pictures tonight," Tania added.

Both their compliments made me smile as I responded, "ladies, ladies, there's enough of me to go around." I joked.

"Oh please," Angie laughed, "I'm sure your man would not like that."

"girl..." I stated simply, shaking my head

"Wait, Hayden you have man?" Tania asked as she began to drive,

"I haven't confirmed nor denied anything, Angie and Ashley just think they know everything," I replied.

"anyways, he has a man—and he's on the football team." Angie teased.

"Again, never confirmed or denied," I added.

Tania only laughed for a moment, then stopped her laughing and gasped dramatically, causing both Angie and I to look over at her.

"chile...." She sang lowly, chuckling.

"what?" Angie asked, "What the hell just happened?"

"nothing girl." Tania replied.

"...I'm gagging." She then added lowly, low enough that Angie didn't hear her, but I surely did.

Whatever she was being weird about, it was really amusing her cause the girl kept snickering the entire drive.

Finally, when we arrived at the school, the line wasn't too long. Yamir had gotten me a ticket so I didn't have to pay, and the three of us went ahead to a spot on the bleachers as we waited for the game to start.

"It's so packed oh my god." Angie spoke as we all looked around the field.

"Is it usually like this for the playoff games?" I asked, seeing as this was really my first experience coming to anything like this.

"Yeah, then the championship one is even bigger, it's crazy." Tania spoke.

"wow," I mumbled.

"let's take a pic guys, to commemorate the night." Angie suggested.

"—then we can take separate ones of each other." She added.

I shrugged in agreement while Tania verbally agreed.

With a smile, Angie leaned in toward me and Tania and smiled, prompting us to do the same before she snapped a picture.

"aw look at us." She cooed, showing the photo that we'd just taken.

"yeah that's cool and all, but who's finna take my picture?" Tania spoke, playfully posing.

"It doesn't matter to me." I spoke up laughing.

"Um, okay how about I'll take Hayden's, Hayden will take yours, and you can take mine?" Angie again suggested.

"bet," I nodded, standing up.

where do you want them?" She asked.

"Umm," I mumbled in thought, "get one with my back to the field—so I look like I actually like sports."

They both laughed then Angie nodded and began to get into position.

While I took my stance to pose, they both smiled.

"Look at you," Angie hyped, "Mr.Steal Ya' Man!" She continued.

"stop," I waved off, still maintaining a good enough pose just so I could potentially get a good off-guard photo out of all of this.

"Whoever your man is, he's lucky," Tania smirked.

I didn't respond, but honestly, I didn't even have to because I immediately felt myself blushing.

"Oh my god, you're turning red," Angie squealed.

"—Hayden who is it, cause he has you blushing at nothing but the slightest mention of him!" She questioned excitedly again.

"he knows who he is, that's all I'm saying." I shrugged.

"I know that's right," Tania spoke, laughing.

"Unt' unt', don't encourage him, we need to know who Prince Charming is." Angie continued.

"I still don't know why you wanna know so bad." I shook my head.

"Because it's cute! You're in a gay relationship with a football player, it's adorable." She giggled.

"Well I appreciate it, and I'll tell you who he is one day—but for now, privacy is key." I spoke, cheesing dramatically.

Tania laughed while Angie playfully gave me a flat look.

It took us about thirty minutes to take all of our pictures. Oddly enough, I genuinely liked how mine came out, which was new because I usually hated pictures of me.

I sent Yamir a couple of selfies like he'd asked, and a couple of pictures I had Angie take as well.

Also, I let him know which section I was in. He didn't respond to anything, which I'm sure was because they were all preparing for the game that was about to start, I just hope he saw.

"I'll be right back guys, Ashely's at the gate I'm gonna go get her really quick," Angie announced as she stood back up.

Both Tania and I nodded before turning our attention back to the field, which was about to be full of our school's football players—who were preparing to make their entrance.

As she walked off and disappeared into the distance, the entrance music of our school's team played—and of course, they made their normal entrance.

Immediately, my eyes darted to Yamir, who was naturally leading the team.

I physically tried to stop the smile from covering my face, but I couldn't.

Without realizing it, I was full-on cheesing widely at their formation.

Something that I found to be so unnecessary when I came to the first game, now I was admiring it.

..because my boyfriend was in the middle.

As usual, we all cheered when they finished, even Tania screamed her man's name, which I'd never heard her do before.

While transitioning to their side of the field, Yamir removed his helmet and looked over at my section.

I could visibly see his eyes scanning the crowd for me, and when we made eye contact, he smiled and sent me a wink.

I blushed at the action and then sent him a thumbs up, all while mouthing "Good luck."

He nodded at me and continued to stare for a while before turning back around and focusing on the game.

"Hey guys!!!" Ashley yelled loudly, flanked by Angie.

Both Tania and I cringed at her volume but greeted her anyways.

"Hey girly," Tania spoke first.

"Hi." I followed up.

"Oh my gosh no, we missed their entrance," Ashley said in disappointment.

"—did you just come for the boys again?" Angie asked.

"That's literally the only reason I've ever come to these." The white girl replied with an obvious tone.

"A game this packed, there's literally fine boys everywhere." Tania motioned.

"and I'm dressed to impress, you see it." Ashley spoke, flipping her blonde hair and puckering her lips.

Even though I found her insufferably annoying, I can't deny she had funny moments.

"girl sit down," Tania laughed, shaking her head.

"No I'm trying to stand before the game starts, just so one of the players notices me." She replied.

"None of them are focused on anybody in the crowd," Angie shook her head.

"Well yeah but—" Ashley then paused her speaking and smiled.

"Hold that thought, because the finest player out there keeps glancing over here." She said, smirking seductively.

"What are you talking about" Tania questioned.

"Yamir keeps looking over here!" She told them, "I swear, last game he winked at me, now he already can't take his eyes off of me—"

"Why are you so certain that out of the hundreds of people out here, that he's looking at you?" I questioned, speaking before thinking.

"oh..." she muttered, jerking her neck back and blinking dramatically.

"oop..." Tania chuckled.

"damn." Angie said lowly.

"somebody sounds jealous." Ashley teased, placing her hand on her hip as she smiled.

"Of what?" I questioned.

"you must want him to be winking and staring at you." She continued.

He quite literally is, and I plan on letting him do a lot more than that to me too.

But I won't say that, despite how badly I wanted to.

"he's not even doing it to you, so why would I be jealous of delusions?" I asked.

"Delusions?" She scoffed.

"Ashley just let it go, he's reading you..." Tania mumbled tucking her lips to contain a laugh.

I didn't even mean to be rude, or confrontational—it just happened.

Why couldn't she thirst over literally anyone else, why did it have to be him.

"No shade Ashley, Yamir isn't even all that to be fiending over." Angie interjected, shaking her head.

Wait what's that supposed to mean?

I looked over at the Latina girl this time with a raised eyebrow.

"Well let's not lie now, the boy is fine as hell," Tania spoke up.

"Right, we can still be realistic without downplaying someone," I told them.

"why are you going so hard right now?" Ashley questioned.

"I'm not, I'm just saying.." I defended.

"Uhuh...." Angie nodded suspiciously.

"y'all so weird," Tania laughed.

"Hello, how am I weird?" Ashley asked defensively, "Hayden is the one that attacked me first, over a boy he doesn't even know like that—don't you have a boyfriend!"

"You guys just assumed I did" I shot back, " and how do you know who I know?"

"Okay guys, the game starting, let's just let it go." Angie spoke, hoping to end the semi-argument.

"I guess." I mumbled.

"yeah you're right, let me watch my man." Ashley teased.

"there's nothing in that brain but Starbucks and hairspray." I scoffed.

"Ashley stop calling him your  man." Angie sighed.

"Don't tell me you're jealous too," Ashley gasped dramatically.

I swear I was getting more irritated by the second at this point.

"Can we just watch the game!" Angie spoke, irritation evident in her voice.

wait why didn't she deny it...

My god, having a fine boyfriend is not for the weak. It's been like two days and I'm already losing my mind.  There needs to be a handbook for this shit.

Eventually, though, we did stop our arguing and turned our focus to the game which was surprisingly very good.

It was back and forth for a while, but the longer it went—our team began gaining the upper hand.

As of now, they were resetting across from each other again, and as usual, our team had the ball.

Their stance looked familiar, then Yamir yelled something and they switched last second, which reminded me of his run from the last game I came to.

I was really skeptical he'd pull it off again, or even try to, but that skepticism disappeared when he once again began sprinting through the players and down the field, garnering cheers from the entire crowd.

My whole body felt jittery watching him. Some nerves, some excitement, all mixed into one.

But when he made it to the end and our commentator yelled 'TOUCHDOWN', I couldn't do anything but jump to my feet and cheer with the crowd.

For the second time, Yamir and I made eye contact after he removed his helmet.

Of course, his charismatic smile was the first thing I noticed. Even when he was visibly exhausted, the first thing he did was look up to see my reaction.

It felt like the crowd cheered forever, and the game somewhat came to a pause, just while everyone lost their minds out of amazement at what he'd just done.

"Whoever he marries is gonna be set for life, that boy is Definitely going D1." Tania spoke, "And pro after that." She continued.

"it was okay," Angie mumbled.

"Hater." I teased, laughing.

"Careful Angie, you don't want to upset Yamirs number one fan." Ashley teased, looking over at me with a taunting expression.

"Or his delusional stalker." I shot back.

"I'm not delusional or a st—"

"Anyways!" Tania spoke up, cutting her off.

Which was probably better for the white girl, because it was getting harder to hold my tongue at this point.

"—you think they have a chance to come back?" I asked aloud, referring to the enemy team who was behind by like 21 points at this point.

"Doubt it." Tania shook her head.

"When's the last time our football team has even lost a game?" I asked out of curiosity.

"last year Yamir was out sick for a week, and we lost our first game since he joined the team our freshman year," Angie answered.

"Jesus" I mumbled.

Now I'm starting to understand why this school treats Yamir the way they do, he was basically the only reason our football team was good.

We all fell into a comfortable silence again as we watched both teams reposition to start playing again.

As usual, when the opposite team's captain called a play, they began to execute it.

I had always found it kind of odd Yamir played both offense and defense, but he was actually surprisingly really good at defense.

As nice and gentle as he was with me, on the field it was like he turned into a different person.

We'd definitely be having a nice talk later because there is no reason for boys to play so rough like that. They treated these sports games like they were "fight to the death"  battles.

Yes, I'm a boy, but I'm one of the smart boys who doesn't partake in these barbaric activities!

Once again I cringed as they resumed their play, to my surprise this time though, rather than ruin the team's plans by tackling someone—Yamir performed an interception, which got everyone on their feet.

I and the three girls I'd sat with all jumped to our feet along with the crowd as we watched Yamir sprint to our team's touchdown zone.

And it was all going so well, up until.

"Oh my god!" Tania gasped.

"Jesus!" Ashley said at the same time.

Angie only screamed, and I slapped my hands over my mouth.

All reactions to what's were Yamir being brutally blindsided and tackled to the ground by a member of the opposing team.

Now of course, I really didn't know football that well, but by all the words coming from the crowd and the sounds they were making, whatever just happened was not legal or within the rules.

My heart was literally pounding as I watched Yamir lay there on the ground.

"w-wait." I mumbled

"—why isn't he moving?" I questioned, pushing passed Angie and Ashley.

"Hayden where are you going?" Angie asked.

I ignore her and continued to walk down the bleachers as an eerie hush fell over the crowd once everyone else came to the realization that Yamir really hadn't moved since he was tackled.

Now that I was closer to the gate, I tried to lean forward so I could hear, but there were still decently far away.

"Is he okay?" I questioned the rest of the team that was on the bench.

I'm sure they heard me, but they ignored me. That's why they were riding the bench now...assholes

Now I could even see his mom and a man who I'm guessing was his dad, approach.

As expected, his mom looked angry...but his dad, his dad looked furious.

After a few moments of just watching, the anxiousness won and I hopped the gate. I then started jogging to the field while ignoring the whistles that were being blown at me by the refs.

I pushed passed the mountain of boys that crowded around him before finally spotting Yamir, lying down on the ground.

His mom was crouched next to him, and seemed to be talking, while his dad was yelling angrily at both coaches.

When I approached there were lots of looks that I got from the players on both teams, but I ignored them as I dropped down next to Yamir.

His fingers were moving now, which was good, and his eyes seemed to be fluttering open a little, but he still hadn't moved.

"Oh thank god," his mom exclaimed, holding her hand over her heart.

As his eyes finally opened completely, they darted around, only lingering on me and his mom.

Slowly I trailed my hand down to hold his, which he squeezed gently in response

"What happened?" He asked.

"you got blindsided hun'," she told Yamir, before standing up,  "can we get a doctor over here!" She yelled out angrily, which I guess worked because seconds later the Medical volunteers ran over.

"my head hurts," Yamir responded to their questions.

"Can you stand?" As EMT asked as he approached.

"I think, I don't know." My boyfriend replied again, trying to sit up slowly.

"Be careful!" I mumbled immediately.

He did manage to sit up, and I watched as everyone backed up to give him room while two of his teammates supported his weight when he made it to his feet.

As the crowd realized he was up and walking now, they all began to clap.

Eventually, the two teammates were swapped with his dad who now supported his son's weight while he walked.

"I can still play," Yamir argued, looking over at his mom.

"Yamir Marino, you are going to the back and you will allow this EMT to look at you in further detail, and that is final." His mom said strictly.

My boyfriend looked frustrated, but didn't further argue—he did, however, look over at me, who by this point was a nervous wreck.

"Hayden is coming then," Yamir stated.

"That's fine, but you're going." His mother reiterated.

"C'mon." His dad spoke, leading his son to the back.

I followed next to them silently, feeling both awkward to be around his parents, and nervous to figure out his condition.

But when we did get to the back of the field, they had laid Yamir down on the stretcher while the onsight doctors prepared to evaluate him.

His mom and dad had stepped aside to have a conversation about how I guess they wanted to handle everything.

And that left me with Yamir, whose hand had been holding mine since he laid down.

"Are you okay?" He finally questioned after my minutes of silence.

"You're the one hurt—not me, I should be asking you that." I replied.

"Hey," he stated foremost, "don't worry about me, I'm fine love." He comforted.

"Why would he hit you that hard!" I complained, "and he literally came out of nowhere, it's never that serious." I ranted.

"Hayden, don't stress about it." He told me.

"I'm always gonna stress about you," I pouted, "can you play a soft sport like golf or something, I can't handle this." I whined.

He laughed softly at me, then smiled, "I'll look into it, but football is where my heart's at." He Joked.

I rolled my eyes playfully at that then spoke, "I haven't been that scared in a long time, when I saw you weren't moving I panicked. I'm gonna get in so much trouble for hopping the gate." I sighed.

"you won't, I'll handle it." He told me.

"—All I want for you to do is kiss me." He added, looking across at me.

My eyes went wide at his words, but his demeanor didn't seem like he was joking.

After looking around, I leaned in and kissed him.

—and while I was gonna make it quick before I could even think about breaking away, his hand was securely around my neck, not squeezing—but holding me in place.

When we did break away, it was only because someone cleared their throat.

I almost broke my neck pulling back from Yamir who only scratched his neck sheepishly, matching my red tinge of embarrassment.

His dad looked between us along with his mom. Their response wasn't really what I expected. I'm not sure if they knew about Yamir's sexuality, but their demeanors didn't seem to be disappointed because we were two boys, but rather because it just wasn't the time to be doing that. Which was understandable seeing as the EMT had been standing there as well.

"It's my fault, sorry," Yamir spoke up.

"I understand." The EMT responded, waving us off with a friendly smile.

"Sorry," I apologized, dropping my gaze to the ground.

While the EMT worked with Yamir and asked him a couple of questions, I found myself in between his parents, fighting off an anxiety attack.

"I assume you and my son are together now?" His mom asked.

Anxiously, I responded, "yes ma'am."

"I see," she nodded, "he must really like you, he's never allowed us to meet anyone." She continued, still watching the doctor evaluate her son.

"I'm Yamirs father, you can call me Paul." His dad spoke up finally, extending his hand for me to shake.

His accent was very strong, and now I understood where Yamir got the Italian side from.

The handshake was uncomfortably stern at first, but I guess when he realized the strength wasn't reciprocated he changed his approach, because the handshake then turned gentle and soft.

"You are Hayden?" He questioned, "last name?" He then asked.

"Terrel," I answered, "my name is Hayden Terrel."

After nodding in response his dad spoke, "you with my son—you his girlfriend—boyfriend, I'm trying to understand?"  His dad asked gently.

Honestly, I tucked my lips so I wouldn't laugh. He was being genuine with his questions, but it was so clear he had no idea how to fathom a gay relationship, it was both cute and admirable to see him try.

My dad is like that sometimes, but he's gotten better.

"Boyfriend." I nodded.

"Ah boyfriend," he nodded, "so soft though,"

"Pauly!" Yamirs mom spoke up, scolding her husband.

"Sorry, sorry my love," the man replied, "I'm trying to understand, he's just so soft ya know—like an itsy-bitsy flower." His dad defended.

"I'm so sorry sweetie, my husband means well." Yamirs mom told me, shaking her head.

"It's fine, really," I spoke up to them both.

Our conversation was cut short when the doctor called us all over.

"So it seems that your son has suffered a light concussion." He announced.

"—recovery time is going to be a week, minimum." He added.

His mom nodded, but his dad ad cursed off in a language I did not understand.

As the doctor continued talking with his parents, Yamir waved me over.

Slowly I approached him and spoke, "you have a concussion Yamir, you're not finishing that game." I told him.

"I know that." He told me.

"—can you take care of me?" He then asked.

"My mom is probably gonna hire someone, but I don't want them, I want you to do it." He spoke.

"Yamir, I don't think they'll let me." I told him lowly, blushing, "I have school, and I'm not a real doctor."

"They will if I ask my dad." He told me, "and you don't have to be a real doctor, just be there so they won't worry about me falling or anything—although I'm one hundred percent sure I'll be fine." He explained.

I thought to myself  for a couple seconds then responded, "are you sure?"

"yea, I like when you take care of me—it'll make me feel better." He told me, causing butterflies to flutter within.

I then watched as he laid back against the stretcher and closed his eyes, resting the back of his hand on his forehead.

"okay." I agreed.

"Do I have to stay the night?" I asked.

"Well I'll be in recovery for a week, and I doubt your dad will be okay with that, so I'll have rides for you if you can't." He responded, opening his eyes to look at me.

"If I stay can I bring Mr.Tiggles and Pandiggles?"  I asked genuinely, causing him to smile.

"You can bring whatever you want, as long as you come included." He told me.

"Deal," nodded, "I've just got to let my dad know."

Yamirs smile grew wider at that, then he responded.

"thank you,"

"Now promise you're not gonna worry me like that again—I mean it Yamir." I whined lowly, pouting.

Again his eyes closed, probably due to the lights being really hard on his sensitive eyes right now.

"I won't worry you like that anymore," he stated.

"promise," I told him.

He opened his eyes again and locked them with mine, "I promise baby."
