Carina: babe I have to go to work and I don't want to...
Maya: babe, everything is going to be fine,
Carina: yea I know but ....
Maya: ohhhh right today you are operating on two gorgeous four years old conjoined girls , the little blonde girls right?
Carina: yea, that's them , and sometimes it makes me think that it could have been us with Violet and Scarlett ,
**Carina got to work that day and she was dreading it because she had to operate on two little four years old CONJOINED TWINS , they both share a liver and one kidney. So far the girls have been thriving... and separating the girls at four years old, would be the best option for them. **

Carina: good morning, how are you feeling today?
Carla : good morning Carina, I'm doing okay
Steven : good morning, we are a little bit nervous but excited!
Carina: that is totally normal, so today Dr. Addison Montgomery and I Along with several other doctors, we are going to separate your precious little girls,
** Dr Addison came in the room at this exact moment **
Addison: hi everyone, sorry I'm late , traffic was horrible this morning.
Carina: good morning, I was just about to tell them what is going to be the procedure for their girls separation . And that if it would have been me sitting where Carla is , and having my precious twins be born conjoined, I'd want them to have the best chance of a better quality of life,
Steven : yea Carina has been a huge help with telling us that it's better for our girls to go through with it,
Addison: Dr. Carina is an excellent and brilliant doctor. okay, I know it's incredibly difficult for you parents but you have to understand that if we don't do this operation right now, your girls will not survive past the age of eight.
Carla and Steven : yea we understand, and we will definitely give them a shot at a better life,
Carla : yes exactly, and our nine year old daughter Melody made them a lucky charm bracelet, I know they can't have it on during their surgery, so I'm holding on to them , and will give them back to each of my girls after the operation!
** The girls are in the ICU , waiting to be rolled in the operating room **
Carina: those are beautiful bracelets, have Aria and Avery seen the bracelets?
Carla : No , our oldest daughter made it in a hurry this morning,
Carina: okay that's alright, it will be a wonderful surprise when——-
Addison: I would have them see it first, and that way they can know that they are going to be fine , during the surgery,
Steven : okay yea that makes sense, when can we go give it to them?
Addison: uh now would be a good time, and we will let you spend time with them , it's 8 h am , and we are scheduled to go in at 9 h am.
Carla: okay so we have one precious hour with them?
Addison: yes !
** The surgery went on for 26 hours and they successfully separated the girls at the torso and left them with one leg each. Aria and Avery are in the recovering room now, everything went as expected**
Tuesday April 6 th

Carina and Addison had successfully separated the girls and Carla and Steven couldn't be more grateful for the two head doctors and their incredible team,
Carina texted Maya
Hi Bambina, I'm out of my 26 hours surgery, the girls are successfully separated. I can't wait to get back home to you, I missed you a lot today!

Carina finally got home, she took a two hour nap at work so she wouldn't cause an accident on the road because of how exhausted she was , Maya loved her wife even more,

Carina: hi everyone I'm hooooomeeeeee !
Violet: ohhhhh hi momma!!
Scarlett : hiiiii momma, how did it go with the two little girls?
Carina: It went good, we did it, they both are separated from each other and they have a better chance of a wonderful life now that they are separated .
Alessandro: hi momma, what do you mean they are separated?
** Carina knew that she would be coming home from work that day with her children asking a million questions, she embrace it and explain everything to them**
Maya: I'm glad you are home,
** Maya kisses her wife several times **
Carina: me too!
Ohhhh picolina, come here, ohhhh I missed my little Londyn girl ,
Londyn : hiiii momma, I momma milk pwease
Carina: of course I will give you some breast milk,
** She got her little seven months old daughter ready to feed from her breasts, somehow Carina has extra supply of milk today She tried on her fullest breast which has always been the right one **
Okay, so today momma separated two twins ,
Violet: how does this work ?
Carina: well they were conjoined together at the torso and left them with one leg each.
Lorenzo: wait what ? Who has one leg each?
Carina: hiiii bambino, uhhh two very very precious little princesses , I managed to separate them from each other, from their torse and that left them with one leg each ,
Lorenzo: Woah , that's impressive momma!
Carina: yea?
Chloe: how old are they?
Carina: they are four years old,
Chloe: Awnn , that's very young !
Maya: yea , but momma and her fantastic team of doctors managed to separate them,
Chloe: will their parents send you pictures of them as they grow up momma?
Carina: I uhhh , think so yea, because I kind of encouraged them into having the operation, which does have an extremely high percentage of success,
Anyhow I didn't ask them to give me pictures every once in a while, but who knows maybe they will.
**Steven and Carla really really wanted to keep in touch with Carina, she did save their precious girls after all! Carina received the first picture of the girls after their operation,**
Carina looked at her family and smiled.
Maya: I'm pretty sure they will,
** Carina cellphone rang**
Chloe: ohhhh momma I think your phone is ringing!
Maya: ohhhh , yes it is , here you go my love,
** she handed it over to her wife , her phone was on the living room table**
Carina: ohhhh thank you!
** she was expecting it to be a text from Andy or her brother, but she didn't expect it to be from Carla and Steven **
Carina: ohhhh my goodness,
Violet: what is making you cry momma?
Carina: I don't know... I'm just profoundly grateful and relieved that Addison and I managed to save them , and I know they will have a better chance at living a somewhat normal life, then if they weren't separated...
Chloe: wait so were you the one who actually separated them momma?
Carina: well I was one of the doctors, yes but Arizona and Addison, and Meredith and many other amazing doctors that I work with every day,
**Maya kissed her wife as she knew that what she did for those 26 hours, wasn't easy to whiteness and to have been apart of that miracle. **
Scarlett : wait , could Violet and I have been conjoined twins too?
**Carina whipped tears away from her eyes **
well we will never know for sure but it could have happened yes , that's why we keep saying that you are both miracles, because what I saw today... will remain in my mind forever,
Maya: yes , each and every one of you precious children are miracles sent to us , and we could not be more grateful for you six ,
Carina: yea exactly..
** A FEW HOURS LATER
BEDTIME CAME AROUND
EVERY KID IS SOUND ASLEEP, Maya and Carina both are laying down on their bed , Carina extremely exhausted from her 26 hours shift **
Carina: hrmmmm how I completely forgot how comfortable our bed is ....
Maya: I'm proud of what you did today, and you should too , you gave them a better chance of a better capacity of life ,
Carina: thank youuu Bambina, it really really wasn't easy ,
Maya: yea but they are alive and thriving and it's because of your hard work .
Carina: yea, I hope they use this chance to a better life correctly, why do I feel like they are my children?
** She whipped tears away from her eyes again**
Maya: yea , I know, what you mean,
Carina: anyways I'm extremely extremely exhausted baby, so good night Bambina, I love you so much, to the moon and back forever and always. ** she gave her wife kisses **
Maya: I love you so much too, you have no idea how much you make me the best mommy and better human being ever, I love you I love you so much, to the moon and back forever and always!
