I wish I was
one of those
skinny girls.
The ones who
fit into the smallest sizes of
navy-blue jeans,
and that hug their waists as if they
were created for them –
Because they were.
I wish I was
one of those
blonde girls.
The ones whose
hair is always slick,
never frizzy,
and that brings out their bright blue eyes
which no dark circles
hide underneath.
I wish I was
one of those
tall girls.
The ones who
don't need to wear heels
to give them a boost of confidence,
and that aren't taller than that guy they're dating
but who also isn't a foot shorter.
I wish I was
one of those
pretty girls.
The ones who
don't have to wear makeup
as a mask,
and that don't need to conceal their imperfections
and highlight the only parts of them that should glow.
I wish I was
skinny enough,
blonde enough,
tall enough,
pretty enough,
good enough.
And if you think
I am,
you sure as hell
aren't making
me feel
like it.
