I couldn't help but feel a bit displaced seeing Park chat so animatedly with Aim. He didn't even bother to talk to me even once.
I turned away and decided to just focus on my attention on Kong who was asking me something. Kong could sense I was displaced and kept looking at Park and me. I caught him twice and glared at him to stop making it so obvious. He chuckled lowly.
Once dinner was over, Kong went to Aim and asked if he could get a ride. Aim agreed and both boys went off. Fucker. The plan was for us to cab home together. We all broke up after dinner making our way home. I went to the main road, waiting for a cab when Park rode by.
"Let me drop you P?"
"It's ok Park. You can go ahead. I can see a cab coming already."
"We stay at the same dorm P. Why waste money taking a cab?"
"It's ok. Didn't seem like you were too keen in realizing I was there earlier during dinner. No need to worry about me now." The words flew out of my mouth before I could even filter them, making me seem like an extremely childish person. But I couldn't help it. He didnt even say a hello to me.
Park looked at me for a bit. But he swallowed back whatever he wanted to say and just tried to persuade me to take the bike instead. I just shook my head and walked abit further down. A few steps down, I felt my hand being tugged only to turn and see Park glaring at me.
"Well you seemed to be only invested in talking to Kong. Going to see Kong, hanging out with Kong, being with Kong. It didn't look like you cared about anymore else. So was it wrong of me to keep a distance? I don't want to be the one to want to be friends with you and you don't want it. Like do you even see me? Or I don't even exist and only Kong does?!"
Park retorted angrily at me. I just looked at him stunned. I didn't even realize I had been that negligent towards Park. I didn't mean to actually.
"Do you want to take the bike or still wait for your damned cab?" Park snapped at me. He let go of my hand after a few seconds and turned away, walking back to his bike. I quickly went after him and grabbed his hand.
"I'm sorry okays? I didn't realize... I mean.. can I get that ride home?"
Park just handed me a helmet quietly, not even looking at me. I got onto the bike and held him by his waist and I realize his eyes were a little teary. Shit. But he snapped his visor down, blocking out all vision and I couldn't see anything anymore. It was a quiet ride home and when we reached the dorm, Park dropped me off and went off to park his bike. I waited for him and he came back only to see me waiting at the entrance.
He didn't say a word and just continued walking towards the lift. I ran up and grabbed his hand.
"Can we talk please?"
"There's nothing to talk about P. Its cool. I just invested abit more of effort in this friendship or so I thought. I shouldn't have. I needn't have."
"Park. I'm sorry okays? I didn't realize what I was doing too. Kong and I are just friends. We are just good friends. I'm sorry if I have ignored you. I didn't mean to."
"It's okays. Not like we know each other for long. I shouldn't even care. I don't even know why this is getting to me. Just let me go please."
"Park."
But before I could say anything else, Park took off my hands and ran up the stairs instead. I just watched blankly as he disappeared. He didn't respond to any of my texts and went offline instead. I sighed.
The next day, I went for my classes as usual being AT. Some modules had Park but he completely ignored me. He didn't even spare me a glance. I sighed as I went about my day.
During lunch, the seniors and juniors had the same break. I went for lunch only to find Forth and gang at the same table as us. There was an empty spot next to Park so i quickly slipped in before he could say anything. But Park didn't even acknowledge my presence and chatted with Aim and Lam. Lunch was a pleasant affair but no matter what I did or even said, Park refused to look at me. I even texted him whilst at the table. He saw the messages but just left them on unread.
I sighed but held myself back from screaming at him. Once lunch was over, Park disappeared before I could even say anything. It was a long day and I only ended around 8pmm and decided to stop by Sotus.
I went into the hall, only to find the boys crowded around someone. I walked up to realize that Pha and Beam were there, administering first aid to Park and Lam. Apparently, a beam had nearly fell on Lam and Park had pushed him out of the way but got hit on his back and cut his hand in the process. It was quite a deep cut so Pha was administering first aid before Park could go to the hospital. My eyes opened big at this.
I knelt down next to Park and asked him if he was OK. I didn't care that the rest of the boys were there.
"Are you ok?!"
Park looked at me blankly for a bit and just nodded and went back to staring at his hand.
"Damn it Park. Answer me properly. Are you ok? Once Pha is done, I'm bringing you to the hospital."
Park looked at me again about to answer when I cut him off, "I'm not taking no for an answer."
Park just looked at me stunned and finally nodded his head in agreement. Luckily Lam didn't get hurt much but suffered cuts too. Both Forth and I brought both boys to the hospital for a check once Pha had administered first aid.
Forth just sat quietly next to me whilst both boys were getting medical aid.
"Is everything ok P?"
"Why do u ask Forth?"
"I'm not sure if you realized. But I didn't even know you and Park were that close. You sounded really upset and worried earlier. It was all over your face."
"I.. nothing. Its just.. I thought... you know my junior. That's all."
"Oh okays. But, it's ok if it's more than that too. No one cares. In fact I saw the way Park looked at you. It was different."
I just looked at Forth stunned. Was I that obvious?! And what did he mean by Park looking at me different?
"What do you mean?! Fellow has been glaring at me constantly. He has ignored me since the last dinner. He refuses to answer my calls or texts. He's treating me like air!" Once again, I snapped without filtering.
Forth looked at me stunned and then he chuckled. He chuckled deeply. He tried to hold in his laughter but he couldn't. I flicked his forehead and he waiied and apologised profusely.
"That's what I meant by different. He only behaves like that when he is affected by someone. Park gets extremely jealous and upset when someone he is fond of is being cold towards him. My question is, what did you do to deserve that? You must have done something. And for him to react like this, it's clear you are different to him than us."
I fell silent when I heard that. Just as I was about to answer, Park and Lam came out with their cuts properly treated and some painkillers. They walked up to us and Forth asked on how they were doing. Both boys said they were OK. Then this Forth dropped the fucking bombshell.
"P, can you send Park home since you guys are in the same dorm? Lam is staying over at mine so I bring him back."
I stared incredulously at Forth and I swore I saw a look of "What the fuck was going on" flit over Lam's face. But before I could reply, Forth dragged Lam off after telling Park to take care, leaving us alone there.
I looked at Park who was about to open his mouth to say something when I cut him off.
"I will call for a cab and send you home. No questions asked." Park looked at me for a bit before finally sighing and nodding in agreement.
The cab came and it was a silent ride home. I watched as Park just looked out of the window. I looked at his hand that was on the seat between us. I took his hand in mine and clasped it tightly. I moved in closer much to Park's surprise and just sat next to him, his hand in mine.
The driver noticed our vibes and tried to make casual conversation.
"Boy, did you make your boyfriend angry?" He directed the question towards me. Before Park could say anything, I replied.
"I did, Uncle. And trying to seek his forgiveness but its been a bit difficult."
"Su su na. I am sure he will forgive you. He probably isn't angry with you. Just needs the time to cool down."
I laughed as the uncle smiled and Park just glared at me. Once we got to our dorm, I tipped the uncle on top of the fare and we got off. I sent Park to his dorm.
"Rest tomorrow. I do not want to see you in classes nor Sotus. Get it? Stop fighting me on this Park. Please. Your anger on me, don't let it ruin your health. Please."
With those words, I turned to go but then Park held onto my hand. I turned to him and all he did was, hug me briefly, thanking me before he disappeared onto his room.
I just stood stunned, by what had happened before a smile crept over my face.
1 win for the day. Park was finally responding to me.
