I once knew a boy... A happy go lucky guy. He doesn't care what people thinks of him. His name is Peter.
Then everything changed when he met a girl, a girl with a lot of questions. A girl who wants to be loved. A girl who needs attention. A girl who wants to find true love. A girl who wants to move on from her terrible heartbreak.
The girl is walking alone in a crowded street. The people are so happy. Turns out the street she's walking is invaded by a party. A Valentine party to be exact, reason for her to cry in pain even more.
Suddenly, she bumped into someone. And it's Peter.
"Miss, are you okay?" Peter asked.
"Do I look like I'm okay?!" said the girl while wiping her tears.
Peter noticed that the girl is crying, so he fished his hand in his pocket and took his handkerchief and gave it to the girl.
"Here. Take it. Don't worry, there's no unnecessary substance in my hanky. Take it, please." Peter said while smiling.
The girl took his handkerchief then wiped her tears. "Thank you." The girl said returning the handkerchief.
"No, keep it. Think of it as a friendship gift. I'm Peter." Said Peter while offering his hand as a handshake.
The girl took his hand. "Sandy..."
"You looked like you need a friend. There's a café nearby, do you want to have coffee? The coffee there is so good, you'll forget your problems in a while." Said Peter while flashing his cute smile.
Sandy chuckled, "I think I need to have that coffee you're talking. Tara!"
AT THE COFFEE SHOP
"I had a boyfriend... We were together for 5 years... He was my everything... He was my life. He was my forever." Sandy said while sipping her coffee.
"He worked as a photographer. He has his own studio, He loves taking pictures of me. Believe me, in his studio, there's a wall in there and it's occupied with my photos. Candid or not, he considers me as a work of art. That's what I love about him. He is so positive in every way. He proved me that I'm worthy to be loved. But I was wrong." Sandy wiped her tears.
"It was his birthday. And his birthday is a work day. So I decided to buy a cake and balloons to surprise him. I also bought a new camera for him... Aren't I sweet?" Sandy laughed bitterly.
"When I opened the door of his studio... I was the one who's surprised... He's making out with my best friend... He said I should have nothing to worry about. He said he loves me. He said it was just nothing. I may be a fool to believe."
"Then one day, while we're on a date. I was sharing my boracay experience then he finally said... 'I don't love you anymore, get out of my life.' Ironic, isn't it?" then Sandy bursted out of tears.
"5 years. Then he ended it up with a sentence. 10 words to be exact. Amazing."
Finally Peter spoke, "Bottom-line, he doesn't love you anymore. It means, you should move on."
Peter smiled while looking at Sandy. "I know a great place for stargazing. Finish your coffee and we'll go there."
Once they arrived at the place where Peter is telling, Sandy was amazed. "Peter, how did you know these places? First, you brought me in a café that has amazing coffee. Now, oh my gosh! This is amazing!" Sandy exclaimed.
"Well, you may ask. I'm a traveller. I like to explore places. So, yeah. Expect the unexpected." Peter said.
Sandy looked up to the sky and smiled. "It looks like I can touch the stars."
Peter sat on the grass while looking at the stars, so as Sandy. "Hey, we should lay down. I heard shooting stars came by this time of night." Said Peter. So they lay down together.
"Sandy, there's a shooting star. Make a wish." Said Peter while looking at Sandy.
Sandy closed her eyes and said; "I wish... I'll forget him. I wish someone will help me to move on."
Peter smiled and looked at Sandy. "No need to wish, Sandy. I'm here."
Sandy looked at Peter. "I just met you in the street."
"Yeah, we just met each other. But how about the people whom you knew for decades, did they helped you move on? It doesn't matter if you only met a person by a street, or a mall or whatever. The important is, they'll help with open arms and doesn't want anything in return. They just want to help. End of story."
Sandy smiled, "Okay, but please don't fall in love with me."
"Okay, your wish is my command." Peter looked at the sky.

And so, Sandy and Peter became friends. Peter is always there for Sandy. When Sandy felt like she wants to cry, Peter is there to catch her tears. Peter is there and he kept his promise to help Sandy to move on.
Then Suddenly...
Peter and Sandy went to a mall. They got hungry so they went to a restaurant to fill up their tummies.
Once they're picking their orders, someone called Sandy from another table.
It was Sandy's ex, Lester. Lester walked to Peter and Sandy's table. Sandy stood up because she saw Lester.
"Sandy." Said Lester.
"What are you doing here?" said Sandy, teary-eyed.
"I asked your sister where you're going. So I followed you." Lester said while holding Sandy's hand. Sandy looked at her hand that is being held by Lester.
Peter looked at Sandy, then Sandy looked at Peter... Sandy mouthed at Peter. "No... Peter..."
Peter stood up from his chair and fake a smile, "Sandy, I'll go ahead."
Sandy looked at Peter and mouthed, "Peter, no..."
Peter felt his water from his eyes, so immediately he said, "I'll go ahead. Take care."
And by that, Peter left... with a broken heart.
Little did Sandy know, Peter is already in love with her.
3 DAYS LATER
Sandy was surfing the internet when the doorbell rang.
She opened the door, revealing a mailman... "Ms. Sandy Tatlonghari?"
Sandy nodded, "Please sign this up so you can receive your mail." Said the mail man.
Sandy signed the paper. Once she's done signing it, the mail man gave the mail to her. "Have a good day, Ma'Am." Said the mail man.
Sandy closed her door and sat on her sofa, opening the Letter.
Dear Sandy,
Hi. :) I want to tell you this in person but I'm not strong enough to do it. So, I'll leave it here. I'm in love with you. I'm sorry if I broke my promise. It's just that, you deserve to be loved. It's not that hard falling in love with you, you know. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry I left you 3 days ago. I was hurt. I know in your eyes, you'll get back with him, because you love him. I'm so dumb to think that you'll choose me that day. We were never together at the first place.
I hope you're happy with him. I hope you find the true meaning of love with him. I hope he'll never hurt you again. I hope you'll not cry yourself to sleep again. Because, it hurts me seeing you cry because of him. He doesn't deserve your tears. You're beautiful, you don't deserve to be hurt. You're a goddess. You're a masterpiece. Too bad I can't have you.
Don't worry about me, I'll be fine. I'm okay. I will not showed up to you in the streets again. I promise. And this time, I will not break my promise.
Thank you for the 2 months of happiness, Sandy. You made me happy. That's something I'll cherish for the rest of my life.
I'll never comfort a broken heart again because I will be the one who'll get hurt in the end. I love you Sandy. We were destined to meet but we are not destined to be together. Thank you for everything.
