As I was shutting down my computer my phone blared it's familiar ringtone. I sighed and looked at the caller ID before clicking ignore. I don't want to talk to him ever again. I don't care if he apologizes, my cousin still blames his sister. "Who was it?" Felicity asked me. I looked up from the computer and saw Felicity standing there in a dress, hair curled, no contacts, and high heels.
"What are you dressed up for?" I asked her. She smiled a little before responding.
"Mr. Queen is having a party at his house. Why aren't you ready?" I gave her a confused look before Oliver Queen walked in.
"Felicity, are you ready to go?" He asked as he straightened his blue tie. I put my phone in my purse and started walking out.
"Have fun," I said and gave them a small smile. Oliver put his hand on my shoulder.
"You're not going?" He asked me. I shook my head.
"I'm not the party type. I'm a loner. Don't like people. I Never have and never will. Plus, my cousin's coming back from Florida. I want to spend time with her before she goes to Central City," I explained and walked out. Once I stepped in the elevator my phone rang, once again. I sighed and answered it, hoping Jake leaves me alone.
"What do you want, Jacob?" I asked. I could hear a bunch of talking in the background.
"Kat, it's Clarity. She's in a coma. She was struck by lightning. You need to get to Central City now," He told me. I gasped and nodded even though he can't see me.
"I-I'm on my way," I replied and hung up. I let the tears stream down my face as I hailed a cab.
"Where to, Miss?"
"Central City Hospital. Step on it." I leaned back in the seat and watched the Starling City scenery pass by. I was asleep when we reached the hospital.
I woke up to a bump in the road. I tossed the guy a hundred and raced in the hospital lobby.
"I'm here to see Clarity Parker. She was struck by lightning," I told the woman at the desk. She nodded and looked through some papers.
"Clarity Parker was just moved to S.T.A.R. Labs with one other patient, Barry Allen." I nodded and thanked her for the information before running to S.T.A.R. Labs. The address is implanted in my brain from visiting one of my friends there, Ronnie Raymond. Unfortunately, he died in the Particle Accelerator explosion. I walked in the cortex, greeted by Dr. Wells, Cisco, Caitlin, and two other people.
"Where's Clarity?" I asked them. Caitlin gestured over to a hospital bed to my right. My gaze followed her hand and I saw Clarity. She's so pale. She's like a ghost. Her hair is lighter than usual, probably from the bright lights. I watched as her chest moved up and down slowly with every breath she took. I noticed a guy on a bed next to her. His brown hair seemed to be perfect, despite the fact that their both in a coma. I sat down next to my cousin and took her icy cold hand in mine.
"Her and Barry were struck by lightning created by the Particle Accelerator. They've been in a coma for 4 months now. Her brother just got notice of her condition, giving the information to you," Cisco explained. I nodded, sniffling a little.
"How is she alive?" I asked him. They all exchanged glances before Caitlin piped up.
"We don't know...yet. Her cells, they're like nothing we've ever seen before. She should wake up soon. We just don't know when. We'll let you know when Clarity wakes up, though," Caitlin told me, giving me a small smile. What if she dies? If Clarity dies, I don't know what I'd do.
"Do you think she'll make it? I can't lose anyone else in my life. I've lost my parents, my little sister, Ronnie. I can't lose her. She's the only thing I have left," I whispered. Dr. Wells put his hand on mine. I looked into his eyes. They're colder than usual. It must be from all that he's lost.
"Kat, Clarity will wake up. Now go back to Starling and live your life. We'll give you updates every Sunday. Sound good?" He suggested. I nodded, gave them a small smile, and walked out. It was like a bullet to my heart. Clarity's like a sister to me. She's all I have left.
"Good morning, Ms. Parker." Felicity smiled as I sat down. I gave her a small smile before turning on my computer. Clarity has been on my mind all night. I barely got any sleep. The nightmares kept sleep from me. They were the same nightmares I have every week: my older brother's death.
"Morning Ms. Smoak. Sorry. I'm out of it today. My cousin's in a coma. I had to go to Central City to visit her," I explained. Felicity's face fell at my statement.
"I also know someone in a coma. He was struck by lightning 9 months ago. His name's Barry Allen," she replied. I smiled a little knowing we're going through the same exact thing.
"Ms. Smoak, Barry was on the bed next to my cousin's. The doctors say they should wake soon. Don't worry, they're in good hands." I gave her a reassuring smile before getting to work. She nodded and walked into Oliver's office to discuss something. My phone beeped, signaling that someone texted me. I picked it up and looked at the caller ID. I shook my head and clicked ignore. I can't deal with anyone right now. My phone kept beeping as texts kept coming through.

I shuddered at the sight of the texts and turned off my phone, hoping the problem will dissolve within seconds. But I was proved wrong. The phone on my desk rang, grabbing my attention. I picked it up and answered. "Queen Consolidated, this is Katherine speaking how may I help you?" I asked. There was breathing into the receiver before they spoke.
"Hello, Katherine," he said. I slammed down the phone. I wouldn't be surprised if I cracked it in the process. Felicity looked up from her desk.
"Everything okay?" she asked. I nodded and ran a hand through my hair, trying to calm myself down by breathing in and out. "You sure? Most people don't hang up on callers by slamming down the phone," she added.
"It was just someone that I knew. Someone dangerous," I replied. She nodded and went back to work after giving me an unsure look.
By the time work was over, I was ready to get out of there. I turned on my phone and saw I had 150 missed texts and 30 missed calls. I rolled my eyes and kept walking down the street. It was fine until someone's hand was on my mouth.
"If you scream or try to get away, I will snap your neck," he whispered. I nodded and he threw me in the back of a van.
"Hello Katherine," Caleb said. I glared at him, willing his head to explode. But of course we're in the real world. Which means I'll either be raped or murdered. When the van stopped, Caleb grabbed me by my ponytail and dragged me in the warehouse, tying me to a pole. I shivered a little from the cold. "Cold? Too bad. If you didn't leave me then you'd have a nice warm home," he told me. I tried to go after him but the ropes yanked me back to the pole.
"When I get out of here I'm gonna kill you!" I screamed. He came over and slapped me across the face.
"What did I say about screaming, Kitty Kat?" he whispered in my ear, sending shivers down my spine. He put a piece of duct tape over my mouth, keeping me from making any noise. He crouched down and traced my jawline before wiping the tears from my eyes. "Sh. Don't worry. This will all be over soon, Katherine," he whispered before he started to unbutton my shirt. He slid it off, exposing my stomach and bra. I shivered from the freezing cold biting at my skin. Next thing I knew a green arrow flew by, plunging into Caleb's hand. He let out an ear piercing scream from the pain before standing up. I saw the Vigilante standing in front of me. I've heard of him. They call him the Hood.
"Let the girl go," he yelled. Caleb smirked.
"No," he hissed before going to fight the Hood. I watched as he drew his bow and let it fly into Caleb's chest, earning a muffled scream from me. Tears streamed down my face as I watched him bleed out. The Hood turned around and started to untie me.
"Are you hurt? What did he do to you, Kat?" he asked me. I looked him in the eyes, shaking with fear.
"H-how do you know my name? How'd you know where I was?" I asked. He realized he was stuck. I quickly grabbed my shirt and slipped it on before letting him speak. He sighed, pressed a button, and pulled off the mask and hood. My eyes widened in shock. "Oliver?" I whispered. He nodded and picked me up and ran out of the warehouse with his bow slung over his shoulder. Once we made it to a black van he opened the doors and helped me inside. I saw Felicity up front, looking back at us.
"Felicity?" I questioned. She smiled and waved a little.
"You alright, Kat?" I nodded, still in shock from everything that's happened.
I sipped some of the hot chocolate from the mug as Felicity wrapped a blanket around my shoulders. I gave her a grateful smile. "Hey, Kat. How're you holding up?" Diggle asked me. I shrugged.
"As best as I could, I guess," I whispered, staring at the floor of Arrow HQ. Oliver walked over to me and handed me an arrow. I looked up at him in confusion.
"Well I'm not just gonna let you in on my secret," he said. I raised an eyebrow. "I'm gonna let you be apart of it. Pick your weapon, Kat. You're now officially apart of our crusade," he told me. I looked over to the bow and sheath of arrows on the table before looking at the green arrow in my hand. I stared into Oliver's blue eyes.
"Bow and arrows," I said simply before wrapping my hand around the arrow in my hand.
