The gentle hazel that greets me from my sleep,
when I roll over to wrap my arm around you,
I am met with those bright eyes,
dancing across my features.
The specks of gold that shimmer in the sunlight,
the cool brown that seduces me under the moon,
paint my face a deep maroon,
make my lips part as I count the distance from mine to yours,
the distance from me to heaven,
a paradise that awaits me.
Those eyes, how they simply live,
in nothing but beauty and love,
and I am lucky to say
they live for me.
