Tw: sh cuts/scars and drowning
Derek's pov:
Tara y/n and were chasing down the unsub.
"Y/n slow down!!" Tara yells as y/n us running towards the water.
And then she jumped in the boat.
"Garcia!" I yell after her
What the hell is she thinking.
"Hotch we got a problem...y/n jumped in the boat with the unsub" I say over the walky talky.
" oo she's throwing out some punches "
"Derek! We can use this guys boat!" I hear Tara call after me.
It was a medium size boat.
We start chasing them down over the water.
"Can't this thing go any faster!" I look over at the guy.
"No sorry this is the fastest it gets"
"What was she thinking, she can't overpower him on a fuxking boat and what was she going to do when she got him!"
We kept following the boat when I saw the unsub hit her in the head and made her fall over board
"Y/n!!!" Both me ans Tara scream.
I take control over this guys boat and get there as fast as i could.
"She's not coming up! Why isn't she coming up!"
"Derek she was hit in the head, she might be incounsious already " Tara said worried
" What's happening over there?!" Hotch asked.
"Y/n she overboard. I'm trying to get to her! "
" hotch we are going to need an ambulance she was hit in the head aswell" Tara added
It took us 3 minutes to get there. The whole team is waiting on a response.
I jump in the water and look around to find her. I swam up to get air again and went down to get her. I drag her body up to the boat,I've only been in the water for a second and I'm already freezing.
"Help me get her up!"
Tara and the guy from the boat help me lift her up and help me get in too.
Her sleeves where lift up revealing alot of cuts on her arm. Maybe a day old some older.
Tara moves in to listen to her heart beat.
" it's not beating she needs cpr!"
I began to do cpr and give her mouth to mouth. While the guy drives us back to the deck
"We got the guy, how is y/n?" We hear rossi
" we have het but she's not breathing, Derek is giving her cpr rn" Tara spoke.
The cpr doesn't have any effect. Her body is hypodermic the guy laid his vest on her but she going to Need way more than that.
When we got to the deck the rest of team was done standing there. Paramedics rushed up to us. And took over the cpr

" she hasn't responded yet" I say as they wheel her past the team.
Jj is on the phone with penelope and emily is calming reid down while holding back her own tears. The paramedics guide me to the ambulance aswell and put a thermic blanket on top of both of us.
"Pls be oke, I can't loose you garcia"
The paramedics call in the closes hospital and put one of the doctors on the line.
" Keep her warm and continue cpr, She's not dead until she's warm and dead!" I hear I female doctor call out
They rush her in the hospital.
"She's hypodermic, been out for quite awhile. She also suffered from a blow to the head" the paramedics said to the doctors waiting in line on her
" oke someone page cardio, general and Nero." One if the doctors said as they take over cpr.
"Sur we need to get you warmed up aswell"
"She's an fbi agent, you have to save her!!" They wheel her away
"Pls y/n fight"
They get me warmed up and then put me in the waiting room . Y/n was immediately brought to an OR for surgery.
The rest of the team is rushing in.
"How is she!" Emily asked first.
"I-i I don't know, she's still in surgery. They haven't updated me yet"
"Where is penelope " I ask
"She's on a plane ride here. She should be here soon" hotch said.
I paced around for another half hour
"Derek you should sit down" jj said
I was still pacing around the room
"I cant sit down. I should have seen it!"
" seen what?" Rossi asked
"You were right Emily. She's not oke. She's far from oke"
"Derek what do you mean?" Emily asked.
"Her arms" Tara answer
"They were full with-with cuts." She continued.
"She's been self-harming" I explain as tears fell from my eyes. I could see that everyone was shocked by this
We hear bags drop to the floor. I look and see penelope standing there in tears.
"Pen" jj said with tears in her eyes
"No no,NO! she promised me she would never do that again. I-"
Emily ran up to her and joined her in a hug.
"She-she did this before?" Spence asked while his voice trembled.
Penelope cried out before she spoke
"She didn't want you guys to know. She always coverd her scars with foundation. She's been through some much-"
In that moment on of the doctors came in. Everybody stood up.
" she's still in surgery, but I'd thought you would liked to know her heart is beating on her own- "
Everybody left out a sign of relieve
"She's a fighter"
The doctor left to go back to surgery
We all sat in de waiting room in silence.
After an hour the doctor came back in.
"She's out of surgery, she's doing oke so far. She was out for a very long time so it's hard to tell if she will wake up."
"If?!" Penelope said afraid
"Her brain was without oxygen for way to long. So we don't know if she will wake up. And when she does we can't tell how much damage has been done. All we can do now is pray "
"Right bc god can help us" reid said annoyed
"You can see her now"
