Author's POV
Yoongi always wondered about his mother. He thought about how his mother felt. He had never seen tears in her eyes. No matter how hard it was for her at times she had always smiled at Yoongi.
"Everything will okay."
"It is going to be fine."
It wasn't fine. Yoongi had wanted to say. But he didn't had to heart to. His mother was always so full of hope.
Yoongi still remembers his mother's touch. It was so comforting. It was warm and it always made him feel secure beyond words.
Sometimes he felt bad. Sometimes he thought it would have been better if he wasn't born. Maybe then she could have lived a better life. A normal life. If Yoongi wasn't born his mother wouldn't have suffered through scornful looks. People wouldn't have called her a shameless woman. If only....
"Yoongi?" A voice called breaking Yoongi from his thoughts. He turns back and sees his friend, Hoseok. Yoongi had known Hoseok for years. Hoseok was the only person who had actually tried to understand and know them deeply. Not only that Hoseok was a great fighter as well. He was the commander of the Blood Fangs.
Blood Fangs is the name of Yoongi's own army. They were taught by Yoongi himself who was a great fighter. The members of the Blood Fangs were chosen very carefully. Yoongi had not only considered their talents but their nature as well. He didn't need a fighter who would betray their own masters.
"There is news from your father." Hoseok informs. Yoongi halts all his movement at the words. "News?" Yoongi questioned. "They have finally settled on who your mate would be." Hoseok says feeling slightly nervous.
You see Yoongi was a great friend. Hoseok knew that but he also knew how bad the other's temper was. Yoongi didn't tolerated any bullshit that goes on. He had been against marrying but his father was persistent.
Yoongi scoffs as he sits down. "Who is the unlucky omega or beta being forced to marry me?" He asked. He knew his reputation among the omegas. They wanted Yoongi for his political status but they never had courage to look eye to eye with him. Honestly no omega or beta would think of marrying Yoongi. So it was very likely that his future mate was being forced by their elders to marry him.
The thought makes Yoongi feel bitter. "I heard it is the only omega son of the Park family." Hoseok says. Yoongi paused yet again. Park Family? He knew about them of course. What surprised him is the fact that someone whose family was as strong and well known as his so called 'family' was willing to give their omega son to Yoongi. Just what was going on.
"And?" Yoongi asked urging Hoseok to continue. "Your father wants you to come down to the capital and meet with him." Hoseok says. Yoongi nods. "Prepare to depart. We shouldn't delay much or else that old man would make a fuss." Yoongi says pointedly.
Just then there is a knock on the door. A head peeks in as the door opens slightly. "Hobi... Yoongi hyung are you guys having an important talk?" The person asked. "No we are done. Come in Taehyung." Yoongi says.
Taehyung walks in with a big smile and a plate of cookies. Kim Taehyung. He was the only blood relative that was close to Yoongi. To be honest Yoongi had saved Taehyung. The younger beta was the son of a blood relative that Yoongi wasn't really close to. They had only met at the funeral of Taehyung's parents.
Taehyung was a lot younger back then. Crying in his old nanny's arms. He was a soft hearted person. Every other relative turned away from Taehyung. No one wanted to take care of him. A burden was all they saw.
Yoongi wasn't able to turn away from the younger. So he had made a deal. He had asked his father to take in Taehyung and that he will be responsible for the younger after that. After Yoongi became known as a war hero and the former king granted him a good land as a reward he had taken Taehyung away with him to the new land which he built up from the scratch.
"I heard the news hyung. You are getting married! Do you know who the omega is? I am sooooo curious." Taehyung says excitedly as sits down on one of the chair. "I don't know him well. I have heard about him but I have never seen him." Yoongi answers.
Taehyung nods at that. "I hope he is a good person. You deserve the best hyung." He says. Yoongi sure hoped so. 'Well let's see how it goes when I meet him.' Yoongi thinks to himself. As displeased as he felt about his father planning his marriage, he was also a tad bit curious about his future omega.
[On the other side]
"Mother oh my god I am going to be fine. Why are you treating me like a fragile glass sculpture." Jimin basically cries out. His mother has been hovering over him for days now. Ever since his family and the Mins had finalized about the marriage between him and Yoongi.
Now the patriach of the Min Family had called Jimin. To meet him. That means he is basically meeting his father in law. Jimin wasn't usually a person who got nervous about meeting someone knew. But the patriach had a reputation of his own. He was a person who didn't looked back at someone he deemed worthless.
"But you are meeting the patriach. How can I not worry about it? He is known for making people upset. You know what if he makes you sad I don't care whether he is the patriach of Min Family or not I am going to make your father start a war." Shieun says. Jimin sighs as he gives his mother a hug to calm him down.
"Mother who am I? Park Jimin. That's right. I would never ever let anyone insult me. I am not scared of the patriach. He isn't even the king anyway." Jimin says. He was not going to lie but he didn't really respect the patriach.
The patriach was great at politics but with what Jimin had gathered he was an absolute failure as a parent and as a husband. "Okay if you say so." Shieun says relaxing.
After getting ready and dressing up, Jimin is finally ready to go to the Min's residence where the patriach resides. He wore a beautiful white clothes that compliments his skin and hair. He wear small jewelleries and accessories which looked subtle but also showed off the fact that he came from a well known family.
When he arrived at the residence he is greeted by various maids and the butler, who guides him to the room where the patriach is waiting for him. "Your grace. Thank you for giving me a chance to meet you. It is an honour." Jimin says with a little bow. "Hmm sit down. The journey must have been a bit troublesome as this meeting was urgently planned."
Jimin smiles despite wanting to scoff. "It was not troublesome at all. How could I not come when your grace called for me?" He said. The Patriach laughs at his words, startling Jimin a bit. "As expected of the son of the Park Family. Such confidence and elegance." The patriach mentions.
'Yes the etiquette were shoved down my throat by my mother.' Jimin wanted to say but held himself back.
"Did you really wanted to marry my son?" He asked.
Jimin looks up a bit surprised at the question thrown at him. "Of course your grace." He answers shortly. "Are you aware of the reputation my son holds? And the disadvantage you will be in as the omega of the illegitimate son of Min Family?" The patriach questioned again.
Jimin stays quiet at the question. He takes a deep breath and answers, "Of course I am aware of the reputation Yoongi-ssi holds. But I don't really believe in the rumours that surrounds him. Rumours are baseless gossips told between people who likes to stick into people's business. I also belief Yoongi-ssi is not a bad person. All over that as the child of the Park Family I am also aware of my duties. With this marriage I shall bring my family's name higher. After all illegitimate son or not, there is no denying that Yoongi-ssi is a part of Min Family." He says.
Quiet. Everything goes quiet after that but soon he hears the patriach laugh again. "I see. I have made a good choice to have you as my son's mate." The patriach says, a soft look appearing on his face but it quickly goes away as if it was never there.
A solemn expression takes place. "Yoongi is a child who have suffered all because of me. I was selfish. I pushed away his mother and him. And I couldn't even apologize because I lost the right to beg for forgiveness. But with this marriage I am hoping he opens up his heart to you. Even a little bit. And after this marriage he will also be able to compete to be my heir." The patriach says taking a sip out of the tea which was prepared for them.
Jimin feels angry because it feels like the patriach is trying to find excuses for being a shitty parent to Yoongi. He doesn't understand why he feels so angry but it doesn't matter why for now. He feels angry and that's it. "Your grace can I be honest with you?" He asked to which the patriach nods.
"I believe what your grace is saying is just an excuse. It is never too late to apologize. Getting forgiven is a different matter. From what I can understand your grace is a coward. You are not making an effort to apologise because you are scared that he wouldn't forgive you. In my opinion, putting aside the matter of being forgiven, it would be better to apologise even now. Before it really is too late." Jimin says.
The patriach smiles at his words. "Speaking your mind out loudy with confidence and without fear. I like this." He says as he puts down the tea cup he was holding. "I appreciate you trying to defend my son so fiercely. And I will take your advice about apologising." He adds.
It surprise Jimin because honestly when he called the patriach a coward he thought he was going to be thrown out and that the marriage would be get cancelled.
"If it is for my alpha, I shall stand beside him and defend him, shouldn't I?." Jimin says. God why did he sounded so cheesy saying that. "I am glad you think that way. Anyway.... I am planning a meeting between you and my son so I will be calling you here again when he comes. You can return for now." The patriach says.
"Yes your grace." Jimin says standing up, giving him a slight bow as he walks towards the door.
"Park Jimin." The patriach calls out.
Jimin turns back towards him. "Yes your grace?" He asked thinking that the patriach had forgotten to say something important. But the elder only smiles and says, "I am glad that you wanted to marry my son."
Jimin give him an awkward smile and with another bow he is out. Walking towards the carriage he came in. On his way back to home Jimin could only think of one thing.
The patriach was a lot softer than people had thought.
