I looked at my wrist watch, it's nearly 3' o clock. I gathered the documents given by David to scan them.

I went to the other corner of the room where the copy machine is. Tom already taught me how to use it.

"Excuse me." the voice was so hypnotic and it cause me turn almost immediately to see who owns it.

Alexandra Williams.

I have heard her voice already from interviews but somehow in person, it seems different, good different.

She was staring at me as I was to her. It's not just her voice that was so hypnotic but her appearance seems to pull me in to her.

Her brown hair was pulled up, leaving some bangs on the two sides of her face. She has a brown piercing eyes that looks so mysterious, her nose so slender and her heart shaped lips that seems to be inviting.

She was wearing a stylish pleated black skirt, paired it with white long sleeves top and strappy heels.

Before I could assess her more, she cleared her throat.

"Excuse me." She repeated.

"U-Uhh, y-yes, Ma'am." I moved to the side and gave her way to the copy machine.

"Ma'am?" She laughed a little, I don't know if it is a good or a bad thing.

"I-I'm sorry, Ms. Williams." I can't help but stutter.

She made 2 steps towards the copy machine, leveling with me.

"You must be the new intern." She lean to get the printed documents and looked at me again.

I nodded at her, not knowing how to address her or if I should introduce myself properly.

My heart was beating so fast and loud and if she would cross the distance between us, I'm sure she would heart it.

Why am I feeling nervous?

Because she's your Boss, it's normal to feel nervous around your Boss. My mind shouted.

She walked past me heading towards the door but before she leave, she turns to me.

"Please send the IT to my office, I can't seem to use my printer."

She didn't even wait for me to answer and just left. Not even a thank you.

Rude!

I went out of the copy room and went to Lisa's table.

"Lis, who from IT should I call to check on Ms. William's printer?" I asked her.

"Just call the reception downstairs and asked them to call IT. Here, use my land phone, just dial 0." Lisa instructed me.

I dialed 0 and told one of the receptionists to send the IT guy.

"Thanks, Lis." She just nodded and didn't even look at me.

I went back in the copy room and finish my work.

I was headed to my table when the IT guy came.

That was fast. I thought.

When the guy opened Ms. William's door, her table was facing to my seat where I could see her sitting, our eyes met again before her door closes.

Those eyes, I can't seem to shake the nervousness I felt when she was near me. The way she stared at me, there's really something in her eyes that I can't put a finger on. Was it sadness? Hiding behind those mysterious eyes?

But why would she be so sad, she's rich, all the men in the world probably pining for her, she literally has everything.

For the rest of the day, Ms. Williams didn't leave the room, though from time to time some of the staff go to her office and I would look under my lashes every time her door's open, she never looked at me again.

Before I left, Richard from the HR gave me my Intern ID which I need to use for clocking in and out of the building.

As I stood up from my seat, David came over to ask me if I wanted to hang out with them, some of the staff planned on eating Japanese food across the building as it is newly opened.

I politely declined as I have plans with my Dad. He wanted to see me and hear about my first day at work.

"Next time, David, I promise." I told him.

Before I left, I took a last glance at Ms. William's door.

----------------------------------------------------------------

"Hello, Dad!" I kissed him in the cheek as I greeted him.

We are in our favorite restaurant near my apartment.

"Hey, sweetie! You look beautiful." He looked at me with proudness in his eyes.

I smiled at him sweetly before I hug him.

"So, how's your day, honey?" He pulled the chair for me to sit on before he sits.

"Hmm, interesting. I got to meet the daughter of the owner of the company on my first day. My colleagues are nice, so far so good." I responded to him before I signaled for the waiter to come.

"How are the boys? Anybody showed interest?"

"Dad, you know that's not my priority right now."

He laughed a little bit.

"Cara, you're 22 years old..."

"Dad, I know how old I am, I'm not in a hurry to have a boyfriend, let it go, please?" I cut him off.

I don't know what's the big deal about being single in the age of 22.

So I have another priorities than having a man beside me, big deal.

Was that really the reason?

Yeah Ok, I haven't met someone that makes my heart skip a beat, or makes me nervous when they're near, or someone that makes me think of them the whole day...

Wait..

Why am I thinking about my Boss?

I shook that thought and my Dad notice it.

"So there is someone, hmm. I'm okay, I'm fine with that, and I'm gonna stop now." he was smiling while both his hands were on the air.

I shook my head and laughed at him.

We mostly talked about my first day at work, I could see how proud he is and I am silently wishing that my Mom would feel the same about me.

My Dad doesn't like it when I talked about Mom. I guess he still care for her but she hurt him too much, she treats him like crap even though he was the one caring for her their whole marriage.

He was the one who took the responsibility of me instead of her.

So I understand him. I know his pain as it was the same as mine.

"I was planning to visit her on the weekends, just to see how she is." I told him.

He kept his silence for 2 minutes.

"Is your Aunt Millie not texting you of how she is? Why do you need to go there still?" He bitterly said.

My Aunt is staying with my Mom. My Aunt needed the house for her family and my Mom needed someone to take care of her so they benefit each other, I guess.

I reached for my Dad's hand in the table.

"Weren't you the one who always reminded me that whatever and however she treated me, she's always gonna be my Mother? That I need to be the bigger person between the both of us? And I need to be kind and keep my feet on the ground at all times?"

He looked at me with sadness in his eyes and it cause me tear up a little bit.

"Oh, dad.."

"Shhhh. I'm fine... And I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that, I just, I'm happy for you, I'm happy that you are happy with your job now and I don't want her to ruin it for you... You know, she's gonna say things to you when you go there, right? And I don't want you..."

"Dad..." I cut him off.

"I'm a big girl. I think I can handle her."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, Dad. I'm sure."

He put his other hand on top of mine and looked at me lovingly.

"I don't know what I did in my past life to deserve a daughter like you."

My heart melted hearing those words from him. I stood up from my chair and gave him the tightest hug.
