Third POV
Sophie waited for Unalaq's command to strike.
She felt a certain rage run through her body.
It made her want to destroy anything in her way, as if that would make it go away.
Just as Korra started fighting with Unalaq, she took her que to defend him.
She bend what looked like dark light along her fingers and shot it at Korra.
Korra jerked back, making her look at Sophie in shock, wondering what they had done with her.
Unalaq dropped onto the floor and nodded his head to the boys behind Korra.
"Take them out.I'll take Korra."he commands loud enough for Korra to hear.
All Sophie does is nod and grab onto a spirit flying past.
She uses the spirt to take her to the boys and bends the light around her hands again.
"Sophie, we don't want to hurt you.Please...stop."Mako pleads as Bolin and him take a pose to defend themselves.
With her mind now feeling a bit clearer, she chuckles.
"What a pity, because I want to hurt you."she reply's and bends at them.
They jump out of the way and Bolin bends a rock out of the floor that Sophie shoots to dust.
"Bad Sophie! Bad Sophie!"Bolin shouts as she lets out a scream of rage.
She jumps over the other rocks and uses it as a boost to get in front of Bolin and round house kick him to the floor.
Unalaq flys above them and through the portal making Sophie look.
Mako uses this opportunity to try and knock her out.
He only manages to throw her a couple of feet away from them.
They follow Korra's comand and follow Unalaq out of the portal to stop him from coming back in.
Sophie quickly get up and decides to follow Unalaq's comand too and carry on trying to take out the boys.
As she steps through the portal there's a voice inside of her screaming at her to stop and help them.
She ignored it and covered her fists in that dark light again.
She had a command and nothing else mattered.
She didn't even know what she did before all this, all she knew was that she had to help the rise of the new Avatar and kill anything that stood in it's way.
When she reached the woods, the boys were already fighting against a unknown force.
Sophie quietly walked in further , sure to not make a sound, too not let the boys know of her arrival.
She forms a ball of matter in each hand and shoots it at the boys.
Not being able to react fast enough the boys fall to the ground looking around for their newest attacker.
"What did he do with her?"Bolin mutters, terrified.
Mako says nothing but jumps on his feet and defects one of the ice shards coming from the forest.
While the boys are fighting a physical battle, Sophie's fighting an internal one too.
The muffled voice inside her head won't stop screaming at her to wake up, to remember who she is and what she actually stands for.
Sophie shakes her head trying to silence it and just for a second her real consciousness regains control.
Her eyes flicker from the dark almost black to their usual gold.
As quickly as if came, it vaished but the brothers had seen it and it gave them hope to get their little sister back.
The ice shards stop coming at them but the attack was replaced by Sophie.
Sophie wasn't holding back but she could feel the boys were which she used to her advantage.
She didn't know who they were but they meant a lot to that voice in her head, motivating her even more to get rid of them.
By luck, Bolin had managed to catapult her deep into the forest.
Hopping to either knock her out for a bit or just give them some time to regroup.
Even through Bolin managed to earth bend her quite far, she tumbled on her feet and felt the rage spike in her again.
She signaled for a spirit, who grabbed onto her and brought her back to the fight.
By the time she got there the twins had already knocked the boys out.
Unalaq had now also returned and sophie stood silently, waiting for his next command.
"Don't let them escape again."he hissed, while walking into the portal.
She nods and walks towards the boys with Eska and Desna walking closely behind her.
They didn't know what their father had done to Sophie either.
All they knew was that her eyes looked almost spiritless and she radiated rage and spite, which Eska would usually find quite pleasant but this felt weird, wrong.
They didn't know how to treat her, scared that they'd trigger some of this new power.
Eska and Desna started pulling the boys away from the portal while Sophie walked in front of the group.
Sophie only realised that the boys were awake when Mako bended fire at Eska.
Sophie jumped out of the way and kicked her leg out making a wave of light shoot towards them, blocking the bending the boys were shooting at the twins.
She ran towards the boys but one of them bended a rock at her chest making her jump and fall on her back.
She growled in annoyance and got up, quickly following into the portal where the boys had just jumped through.
She felt the power taking more control over her as this feeling of failure and uselessness started to rise.
She watched as the boys ran towards the old Avatar, who was laying on the floor all battered and bruised.
When Sophie first saw the girl, she felt a pang of concern run through her, which she quickly shook off not understanding her emotions.
Just as the boys reached the avatar, Sophie sent a ball of light towards them, that Bolin deflected.
Mako, now standing above Korra, looked at Sophie with a heavy heart.
That person standing there wasn't his sister right now, it was someone who wanted to kill his family and he had to treat her as such.
They turned back to Sophie and ran away from Korra towards her but before either side could attack, Eska froze the boys in ice.
Just as Eska froze the boys Unalaq became one with Vatuu.
Sophie felt when Unalaq and Vatuu became one.
She let out a scream as she felt the power run through her and being sucked out of her again.
"We are now one."Unalaq announces as Sophies eyes went from a almost black to red.
"Now a new era for spirits and humans will begin, and I will lead them all as the new avatar."Unalaq's voice echos.
"Well, I'm the old Avatar, and my era's not over yet."A awakened Korra replies and they start fighting again.
They fly out of the spirit world leaving the boys, the twins and Sophie alone.
"Please let us go."Mako begs.
"His groveling is pathetic."Desna sighs.
"But I do enjoy the sweet scent of desperation."Desna admits.
"Come on.Your dad has become an evil monster.
He's trying to bring on eternal darkness!
I mean look what he did to Sophie.You think that's good!
Why would you protect someone who doesn't care about you at all?"Mako asks and looks over at a spirit less Sophie.
"Father was going to let me expire when we tried to open the northern portal...Perhaps we should rethink our position."Desna suggests looking at Eska.
"Yes!"Mako shouts in glee.
"No.Don't listen to him.His words are poisoning your mind.And besides I like Sophie better like this.Deadly just like me."she slightly lies and Bolin breaks out sobbing.
"What's with this outburst of emotion?"Eska asks.
"I'm sorry.I can't help it.It's just so sad...that I'll never be able to be with you again."Bolin chokes out.
"What?Explain yourself further."Eska walks closer to Bolin.
"Eska, I've always loved you, and I've always wanted to be with you...but now that the world is ending.I'm never gonna get that chance."he wines.
"We could have been together, but you left me at the alter."she says angrily.
"I was scared! I was scared of my true feelings for you.I should have never left you! I'm sorry and I'm sorry that we'll never have a chance to rekindle the dying ember that was our love into a...big fire of love falmes."Bolin admits, something that would've made a normal Sophie roll her eyes and gag in disgust.
There's a moment of silence before Eska kisses Bolin making the others, except Sophie, look.
The water melts away from the two boys making Sophie get into a fighting stance but before she could even lift a finger, water shoots her into the air and flings her a couple kilometres away, knocking her out.
Mako and Bolin shout at Eska to stop but she shrugs not being able to undo it anyways.
"It won't kill her, but it'll keep her busy...if we're lucky."she says and the boys nod slightly.
"When she comes back she's going to be angry."Mako reply's looking into the direction of where Sophie should be.
"Then we'll try to keep her busy, go."Eska says as Mako taps Bolin's shoulder telling him they need to leave.
The boys run out of the portal leaving the twins and Sophie behind.
Sophie POV
I woke up gasping for air.
I suddenly broke out into a cough and felt like my spirit was being sucked out of me.
When everything was finally out, I fell back onto the floor with a groan.
I grabbed some dust and pushed myself onto my knees.
I looked up at the sky and frowned when I saw a thunderstorm and a ton of wild spirits.
I looked further around and noticed that I was quite far away from a portal.
How did I even get here?
