Nikki's POV, March 7th 2009
It was an average day today, we'd got home two days ago for the week long break between shows on our tour for the 'Saints Of Los Angeles' album, we then had other break in between shows which I'd made sure there would be in May for a week and a half, which covered Y/N and I's wedding anniversary and a couple days spare before we went to Venice and after we came back so we could adjust back to life before being thrust back out of routine again.
Then after that gap, we didn't have another one until the tour finished in July, but then even after that we had things going on because of that vacation Tommy had press-ganged all of us into.
It'll be a laugh though even if I'll still bitch about spending two weeks on vacation with Tommy Lee. At least on tour we could kind of separate but on a vacation I had a feeling we'd see each other all day every day and that's a lot of Tommy Lee to take, that's a lot of men in general to take.
However, the bottom line was, I was excited about it.
Y/N and the kids had gone out to a local mall for a trip out, taking Alexander with them as he was staying the night tonight and I hadn't gone because I had an idea for a song and wanted to get as much of it written as I could.
What the song would be for? I wasn't sure but I was thinking of doing another book, which I feel would be better more photography based than words but who knows that might change, just a book of pictures of different moments and then me talking about it, that's my rough idea but it's still in its early days and would probably change a little bit the further into the process I am.
I might release another album with it though with Sixx:AM as I liked working with DJ and James.
I sat with my notebook on the couch having written the main lines I had in my head out already, now I was just thinking through possible lines to add to it, and I managed to get a couple of verses completed before I was interrupted by a knock at the door.
Without a second thought I got up, putting my notebook and pen on the coffee table and walking towards the front door, not entirely knowing what to expect when I opened it when I did and saw Vince stood there I was a tiny bit surprised.
"Vince?" I asked with a raised eyebrow, he wasn't who I was expecting "Everything okay?"
"Yeah." he smiles briefly "But er-... can we talk?" My eyebrows knitted together in confusion but I nodded regardless allowing the man inside as he said "Where's Y/N?"
"Er-... she's out shopping with the kids and Alex."
"You didn't go with them?"
"No, I've got songs to write. I had a really good idea, kinda didn't wanna lose it... why'd you wanna know?"
"Cause she's the reason I came over- well, not directly but... we need to talk about something."
Do we? Er... right, I'm lost.
"About what...?"
Vince sat himself down on the couch and I sat next to him just as he began to speak "I'm not gonna beat around the bush, we were at odds for so many fucking years and bro, and it killed me cause I love you man... I don't want what went on between us for so fucking to still be lingering anymore. I don't need to say what I'm about to say, I know that but I'm going too regardless- so hear me out, please?"
The singer looked at me silently begging for me to hear him out and I was actually interested in what he has to say because although he was right, he didn't need to say what I suspect he's going too... there's always been a tension between us since he and Y/N got together, even if it was really really subliminal now it mattered because we'd never truly had a conversation to lay the topic at rest, until today it seemed "Sure... what's up?"
"You know how I feel about Y/N and how I always will feel about her but just because I still feel things for her doesn't mean I've got a plan to steal her from you or nothing... I know I've let my feelings get in the way before and I can't apologize enough for that- when I gave her back to you, I meant it. When I gave her back to you it broke my heart... but I knew it was what I had to do to save your life back then, I wouldn't take her from you, I'd never hurt you like that no matter how much it's hurt me in the past." Vince said then paused and continued and although he didn't need to say any of this because it was old news, I am kinda glad he was.
"When I ended it with Y/N, it meant the end... I love you bro, I really love you and I couldn't betray you. This entire situation has been a hot mess for decades and although we solved our issues we never really had a chat like this, and we need to put it to rest so, that's what I'm doing now. I just need to clarify that Y/N's yours, she always has been- I know you don't anymore but I'm saying it anyway, you don't have to feel threatened by me man, I gave her back to you for a reason and we need to leave all of it behind. I'm saying this as a final peace offering to bury this situation for good, we've never closed this situation out, not properly. I totally forgot we hadn't and thought we should, I know it's random as fuck though and I'm sorry about that. Just couldn't shake the thought from my head."
I smiled a little "Nah, I get it... I'm glad you came over. Honestly though Vin, the problems we had once upon a time? I'm over it, took me forever but you know it doesn't bother me anymore. We're good and we'll always be good... Y/N's just one of those people, huh? Once you love her there's no going back."
"Sounds about right." He smirked "I also came over for another reason well, not really but I thought I'd talk about something else too cause it felt kinda dumb to just come over, say that then leave. You're not doing a lot right now in life are you?"
"No, not particularly, why?"
"Because I'm starting the recording for the songs to go with my book next week was wondering if you could tag along with me, there's still a few things I'm not satisfied with but I'm not sure exactly what those things are and thought you could help me out a little bit in figuring it out."
"I'll happily do your work for you, Vinnie, don't you worry about it, dude." I said sarcastically, feeling the need to be kind of a dick, why not? Messing with Vince is always fun.
The singer rolled his eyes "I'm asking for your help, for your opinion, everything else I have covered. Are you gonna help me or not, asshole?"
"I might just let you struggle and figure it all out for yourself, you've made two solo records before now, suck it up, buttercup."
"Wow, you're an amazing friend, seriously. Holy shit, the winner of all the nice guy awards."
"Gotta get my points in so I can get another nomination this year and not helping you is gonna get me a shit load of 'em."
"I really fucking hate you."
"I know you do, but deep down you like it. Plus, just to be clear on the matter, I'll give you my opinion if you still want it that is."
"I'm not as eager for it as I was when I came in."
I grinned "That's what I like to hear. Want a coffee or maybe a cup of some fancy ass tea that Y/N brought, she seems to really like it but to me it just tastes like you're drinking perfume."
"You don't like fragrant tea?"
"Hell no, do you?"
"I've had it once, one of the girls I saw a few years ago she used to drink stuff like that, apparently it's good for all kinds of shit so I was curious and she gave me a cup of it, I kinda liked it."
"Then you're fucking weird, man."
"Possibly but I'll take a cup of fancy ass tea, I drink too much coffee, like I drink too much alcohol."
"At least you're fully admitting to that." I said as I stood up "Right, one nasty ass cup of perfume coming right up for you, you and Y/N can be fragrant together."
So, I went into the kitchen and began making Vince his nasty ass tea. I honestly don't know how anyone can like tea like this, is absolutely disgusting.
But if that's what Vince wanted that's what he'd get. After he's finished drinking that I might as well get him to stay here for a bit, I'm sure Y/N wouldn't be disappointed he's here and Blaze and the others certainly wouldn't be either, maybe he could even stay for dinner, who knows?
I guess we'll see when Y/N gets back.

Y/N's POV
Today has been a damn good day if I do say so myself, it was a shame Nikki chose to stay home but he also hates losing good song ideas and staying home was the best way he could not lose said ideas.
It had been nice to go out with the kids and Alex, Alexander was practically one of the family now anyways seems as we saw so much of him, but I was glad of that. I really liked him, he was a likeable guy, and anyone who made me Blaze smile as much as him I automatically loved.
Our group trip to the mall was entertaining, it was never a dull moment but with Nikki's kids would it ever be dull? No.
We were out for just over four hours in total which included getting there getting back, shopping and a quick snack break at a cafe.
Part of me didn't want to leave and head home but I knew I had too, and when we did pull up on the driveway I was glad that I'd come back because I saw Vince's new car parked on our driveway, one he'd been fawning over and gave me a whole ass tour of after he brought it driving me around LA in it with the most childish happy grin on his face I'd ever seen.
Which meant as soon as I knew Vin was here I got out the car, grabbed the two shopping bags out the trunk of the car and entered the house, instantly seeing Vince and Nikki sat together.
"Hey, Vinnie." I greet as I see the blonde, he smiled and stood up as I put the bags on the floor and walked over and hugged him "Didn't know you were stopping by."
"Yeah, we were just chatting."
"Hope you enjoyed your chat. It's nice to see you, it's a pleasant surprise as always."
Blaze then walked in and smiled when he saw Vince "Saw your car in the the driveway, you still need to take me out in it."
"When you stay with me next, I'll make sure of it. Might even let you drive it but I'll be with you, obviously."
"Sounds awesome. You better stick to that."
"I'm always a man of my word."
Alex walked into the house now and like everyone else just looked at him "Oh, hi." Alexander said to Vince "I was wondering who's the car was, I hadn't seen it before."
"Yeah, it's mine, I only brought it a few weeks ago, thought I may as well use it."
"It's sick, I want a car like that eventually."
"Work at it and you'll get there." Vince replied before looking at me "Do you want me to go now or...?"
"No. Stay." Blaze says before I could even reply to Vin's question.
"I think you have your answer there, Vinnie." I laugh lightly.
"You sure I'm not getting in the way?"
"Not at all." I assured "Alex is staying the night so I'm cooking dinner for all of us, you wanna stay too?"
"Er, yeah, you know I'd never refused the offer of staying to eat if you're the one cooking. If it was Nikki I'd be straight out the door."
"Do you find pleasure in insulting me?" Nikki asked Vince.
"No more than you find in insulting me."
"Touché, Neil."
"Always, Sixx. The hell you cooking anyways Y/N?"
"It's a surprise." I shrugged.
"No fun. I'd rather know what I'm eating but that's not going to happen."
"No, you'll just have to wait."
"Look forward to it then." The singer smiles.
I laughed softly and grabbed the two bags on the floor I'd put down when I walked in, taking them upstairs just as Nico and Zeta dragged their asses through the front door after faffing around outside.
Today would be an interesting day with Vince here and Alex here too, it would be interesting to say the least but I was totally up for interesting right now.

A/N: This was probably the worst filler chapter of the book, and truly am sorry if it was really boring and repetitive, it made sense in the book plan to have proper closure to the Nikki/Vince thread but when I wrote it out I hated it, though didn't want to delete it because it took me hours to write and it gives you guys an extra chapter as there's only a couple of weeks worth of the book left... next chapter is better I promise :)
