Y/n's Backstory (for the port mafia members)
You were born in a poor family. Your father abandoned your mother when you were 2 years old. Your mother worked somewhere all day and she would come really late at night. She didn't really love you. How you know that? One night you heard her talking to the phone saying : "I can't even stand her anymore. This little demon and the fucking monster that made me give birth to her and now making me taking care of this brat. I don't think I can do this alone anymore "
She broke to tears. You silently went back to your dark room. You sat at your bed staring at the wall. You were surprised. You always thought that she treated you coldly because of how tired she was.
Indeed she was tired but not of work. She was tired of you.
You tried to make tears come out. You had to cry. I mean what's a more suitable situation to cry than this. You still couldn't so you gave up on the task. You just lay down staring at the ceiling.
You were 5 by the time. Because of how bored you were from staying at home alone, everyday you would go out at the library next to your house. Books were your only company. The first time you went there you didn't know how to read very well. A worker there admiring your thirst for learning guided you to the early education section. You have never saw anything more beautiful than this place. You grabbed the first book you found and started reading. This is how you spend every day. You basically thought yourself everything. Even though you never went to school your education level was far more higher than most kids in your age.
So the following year went peacefully, consuming more and more knowledge, until your seventh birthday.
One day your mother announced you that someone would live with you. You were not happy with the idea. Even though she didn't say it clearly you understood that she would bring her boyfriend with her.
The next day he arrived at your house. He was tall, his skin pale. He was charming thought. Your gut feeling screamed in agony. He smelled like trouble. He was dangerous.
You didn't make any reaction thought. You smiled as polite as possible and gave your hand. He just looked at you with empty eyes and walked away ignoring you. That was your first meeting.
You soon realized that he was only charm and nothing else. He drunk. A lot. He would be asleep till afternoon he would wake up, If you were home he would hit you and then leave for his work and would return in the early morning and drank his ass down before passing out.
Your mother? Of course she couldn't care less. This life continued until one day when you were 10 he brought another man in the house. A man with dangerous red eyes that pierced through your soul. He introduced himself saying that he's a special doctor which came to examinate you.
One year ago you discovered that you could do weird things with your mind to other people and animals . You were at the park after your daily visit at the library, to sit at your favorite spot to read. A boy with his friends came to you and started making fun of you, taking your book. You were so mad at him that you wished for him to die... And just like that he froze in place before he started screaming while holding his head. Blood came out of his nose and ears and it only stopped when you realized what was happening.
A few days before the man came you had a similar accident with your step father. He had just came from work and was sitting in front of the TV drinking like always. You were thirsty so you went to the kitchen to take a glass of water. But you accidently dropped the glass, breaking it. He came to the kitchen and was outraged. He started beating you. When he raised his hand, you, wanted to stop him... Then he froze, wide his eyes in fear and start screaming holding him arm, which started making a breaking sound. He ended up in the hospital with a very seriously broken arm. He didn't even looked at you for the following days and you couldn't bring yourself to feel guilty for this bastard. Then this man showed up.
After introducing himself, he took your hand in his and his red eyes, shined a bit..."Magnificent!" he shouted in delight "this girl, will make the perfect soldier" he explain to your step dad
"Yeah, whatever... Just take this little demon away from me" your step dad said
"We need your wife's signature to take her. She's her daughter after all"
"then come back tomorrow this hour. I'll give her to you and you'll give me my money"
"Let it be then."the man said" the two of us will have a lot to do from now on my dear "he said to you. And just like that he left.... A few hours later your mother came back and started talking with her husband. You were hearing their conversation
" 10 millions my dear! 10 millions for this brat! It's a golden chance! "
" why would they give so much money for a girl? What they truly want? Who are they?" your mother asked
"It doesn't really matter! They collect brats with abilities or something. A friend told me when I said to him what your daughter did to my poor arm!"
"When are they gonna take her?"
"Tomorrow"
"fine then... It's finally time to get rid of her shit... 10 whole years of my life... It's finally over"
"Yes, my dear... We'll be free and rich"
So your mother would really sold you huh... You thought to escape but it would be a really bad idea. They must have some bodyguards outside making sure that you wouldn't leave... These people take kids like you, which means that they know how to handle abilities. It would be a good idea, cause you would learn about your ability, maybe about your real father who asked your mother to protect you before he disappeared. Escaping is a bad idea. Where would you go? How would you survive? There are worse places that you could end up and wosre people to face.
The next day the same hour like he promised the man appeared again, with 2 other men following close behind. He greeted you with a smile "I'm glad to see that you didn't tried to escape. You are a clever girl"
"Give us the money now.." your step dad interrupted
"you have my signature" your mother continued
"Of course... But you don't have any final goodbyes to say to your daughter?" he asked curious
"no.. Just give us the money"
"Very well.... Jin, Kai... Give them their money" he ordered them while taking you out of the apartment. You could hear weird noises coming out of there and then silence
"You killed them, didn't you?" you asked the man
"Clever girl... Do you feel sad about it?"
"No. I don't really care" you honestly said
"Ha! I knew that you were special. I changed my mind... I won't make you a soldier. You'll be more useful as an assassin or a private assistance" he said delighted
"there's a hierarchy in the kids with the abilities?" You asked curiously
"Kind of... We put you through some exams and then train you according to the position you'll be assigned to" then you were in a car with them. You were traveling for one day until you reached the destination. A huge building in the middle of nowhere. You spend 7 years there(more of it in other parts of the story) until you and 5 more kids like you escaped. The six of you took different paths through the world and agreed to only communicate with each other if it was a life or death situation. You picked Japan and more specifically The city of Yokohama. You were looking for a job when you discovered that someone was looking for a bartender in a bar near your house. It was night shifts but you didn't mind it. You applied for the job and was hired. The boss was an old man, not bad nor good. He was not the talkative type. It was your 6th day in the job. You were walking towards the bar when you heard someone pleading and crying in the dark alley. You went to investigate and you saw a man with tied arms, on his knees crying and begging and a women who you assume was his wife tied up knees and hands crying too. The man that he was begging was calm as he looked down at them
"it's over my friend. You shouldn't have mess with me and my money" he was ready to pull the trigger when you popped in. Even though you didn't want to cause any troubles you couldn't just abandon this poor couple.
"oi old man. Don't mess with guns. They're dangerous" you said calmly
The man with his bodyguards turned to you surprised
"who the hell are you?" he asked you
"I'm batman" you said sarcastically and activated your ability dropping unconscious his bodyguards leaving him the only one standing
"w... What the fuck? You... You are an ability user?! Are you with the port mafia? WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?" he yelled in agony
"chill bro. I have no idea what this port mafia is. I'm on my own and you are in trouble for acting like a wannabe mafioso." Then he froze, his eyes widen in fear and his hands twisted and made a horrible breaking sound along with his screams
" jeez... I hate this sound.." you said to yourself moving towards the couple. You untied them both and help them stand up
"Go away now. Do not ever mention to anyone that you saw me here and be more careful with who you own money to" the couple thanked you a million times before running away. The wannabe mafioso was laying unconscious on the ground.
"this will take a long time to heal" you thought to yourself.
You felt eyes watching you so you turned around, to meet with an old man with glasses, a ginger(short)man with a hat, another man with red hair and a woman with black hair and a mask. They were looking at you
"hello?" you said to them
"You are an ability user?" the old man asked calmly
"Depends on who's asking" you answered in the same tone
"Do you know who is this man?" the ginger one asked pointing at the mafioso
"A wannabe mafioso who was messing with simple citizens" you answered confidently. The ginger smirked
"He is one of the more powerful mafias in Yokohama and one of our main bothers" the old man explained
"our?" you asked
"The port mafia" the other man with the red hair answered
"Oh.. So you are the port mafia. Yeah. He mentioned something about you before he fainted" you explained
"Do you realize, young lady that you just made an enemy with most of the mafia familias in the city."
"should I care?" you said honestly. If he was one of the most powerful familias the rest of them would be like fighting with kids... Your answered made them smile
"But you, helped the port mafia even if you didn't knew. I think our boss would be happy to meet you. What do you think?" working with a mafia huh? It sounded better than serving alcohol to the drunks every night plus you could hide in them. In the organization you escaped from, there was an ability user that could detect anyone whenever they would use their ability. Even though you had take your measures to hide you could never be sure
"Question. Are you ability users too?" you asked them as you walked through the alley
"Some of us are. I am one"
"I'm also an ability user. And I'm chuuya by the way"
"Y/n. Nice to meet you all" you said.
"How old are you kiddo?" the one with the red hair asked
"17. And I'm not a kid"
"You're very young" he said almost whispering to himself
It would be perfect. Being among other ability users would make it impossible to find you. You met with their boss who's name was Mori. He thanked you for taking care of their job and he asked you to join them. You already knew the answer, so you accepted
"Oh. Before you go. How old are you dear?" he asked. This question creeped you out for a weird reason
"17. Why?" you hesitantly answered
"nothing. Nothing..." he said disappointed
