After washing the germs from her delicate hands, Nicole turned the door knob to exit the bathroom. Only, the second she tried to get a clear view of the hallway, there was a broad chest that stood in her way. Based on the unbuttoned shirt, she already knew who it was, and she let out a deep sigh.

"Do you mind moving out of my way?" Blue eyes looked up through long lashes, to get a view of the face in front of her.

"Why do you have to happen to be everywhere I am, princess?" Billy's smirk was so large it was almost plastered across his entire face.

"You and Michael hang out with the same group, don't flatter yourself." A scoff escaped the girls lips, causing Billy to frown.

"Why are you really with Michael?" The boy stepped forward, grabbing a piece of Nicole's blonde hair and twirling around his finger, flicking his eyes up to meet hers.

The girl sucked in a sharp breath and gulped, "b-because he's sweet, Billy. He treats me how I want to be treated."

"I think you forget that he was completely okay with getting in your pants at the first moment you showed him any sort of attention, not caring that you were drunk off your ass at that," he paused to shift his hand to cup her cheek, lightly brushing his thumb across the blushed surface, "he doesn't have the right intentions with you, Nicole. He's got this nice facade going on, but he'll show his true self soon enough."

"Why do you care? You're so.. back and forth, I can't keep up. One second you can't stand me, the next second you're looking out for me." Nicole grabbed the boys hand to pull it away from her face.

Billy's eyes lingered for a moment, flicking across Nicole's round face. His tongue darted across his bottom lip before he opened his mouth to speak.

"What's going on here?" A voice called from a few feet away, causing Nicole to snap her head in the direction it came from.

Immediately, she knew how it looked. The look in Michael's eyes said it all. The way Billy lingered over her small body stuck in the door frame, how her hand didn't fully let go of his own, her flushed appearance from being so up close and personal. It was obvious that it looked like something had been going on between the pair, even though there wasn't. So, she immediately went to defend herself.

"It's not.. I was trying to come back and bumped into Billy. He started talking and—" her small voice was cut off.

"Talking about what?" She couldn't help but notice the slight change in the boys eyes as they flicked from her, to the boy stood in front of her.

She noticed how Billy tensed as soon as he received the look, his jaw clenching.

"Nothing important. Some creepy guy had been lurking close to my house and you know, since Billy's my neighbor he saw it and wanted to make sure my family and I were alright." The lie was quick to roll off her tongue, and Billy was surprised that she saved his ass.

"Alright.. is that all then?" Michael's vision pointed back toward Billy.

"Yep. I gotta piss, so.." the blonde boys voice came out bitter.

"Yeah, right. Sorry." Nicole moved her body out of Billy's way, making her way toward Michael.

However, when she reached him she couldn't help but note how aggressive he slung his arm around her shoulder. She stumbled with how he jerked her body close to his, flinching at the sudden movement. As the boy started moving their two bodies, she couldn't help but glance back over her shoulder ever so slightly. There in the hallway stood Billy, his jaw clenched so tight you could see the muscle restricted. Just before Nicole turned her head back to the front of her, she watched Billy walk into the bathroom and shut the door rather harsh.

The conversation and actions from the event earlier that evening were eating away at Nicole's curious mind. Michael seemed on edge the rest of the night, acting rather jumpy anytime Nicole spoke. He was also a lot more careful about watching her after Billy had run into her.

Not long after the encounter, Billy decided to leave and call it a night. Everyone boo'd in dissatisfaction, but he couldn't have cared less. Michael dropped Nicole back off at her house around 10 that night, bidding quick goodbyes. Her parents were pleased that she had actually listened to the curfew, and said their good nights as well before heading up to bed themselves.

So now, Nicole was pacing by her window, watching the window of a certain teenage boy. She was in her pajamas already, comfy as ever, but he mind wouldn't ease. Billy's room light was still on, so she knew he had to be awake. It was just about whether she would swallow her pride and go get the questions she had answered or not.

Her pride had lost this round once she began to slip on shoes and a hoodie to keep her warm on the short walk over. She quickly and quietly lifted her window up and began to crawl out of it as stealthily as she could. As soon as her feet planted on the ground, she moved quickly to the boys house, not wanting to be seen by any neighbors who may possibly still be up.

Once her short journey concluded, she was stood in front of the Hargrove boys window. He had his curtains up so she had a clear view of the room, noticing him sat at his desk with a cigarette between his lips. She noticed the light bumping of music, and how he nodded his head along to it. It almost made her feel bad to have to disturb the boys peace— almost.

So, she brought her hand up to the window and gave three light knocks. Nicole watched as the boys head snapped in her direction, eyebrows furrowing as he tried to make out who was standing just outside of his window. Once he noticed the blonde hair, and the familiar soft, blue eyes he made his way over to lift up the window.

"What are you doing here, Moore?" Billy questioned, leaning his body slightly out of the window.

Nicole's eyes were flying everywhere, trying not to meet his own due to the embarrassment she felt. Her nerves were suddenly shot, and she felt paralyzed. However, she quickly snapped out of it and took a breath.

"I need to know what you meant, about Michael. I didn't get much from out conversation earlier." She sighed out, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Alright," he leaned back, stepping away from the window, "come in and I'll explain."

Nicole quickly obliged, climbing through the window carefully to escape the cold. Billy's eyes scanned the girls clothing, failing to hold back a small grin at the oversized hoodie that swallowed the girl. After taking a seat back in his desk chair, and offering Nicole a spot to sit on his bed, he started to explain the rumors that fled around Michael.

Apparently, the boy was a player. He always started out with the nice guy act and kept it going until he knew he had his victim convinced. Only then did he start slowly letting the real him show, and when a girl caught on, he was quick to manipulate them or anybody they told. Some of the things Michael apparently did were terrible, and most girls were to weary to speak up about it.

Billy kept a straight face the entire explanation, not once wavering in his story. Nicole had no reason to not believe such a convincing story, but she couldn't pin horrible accusations on somebody who seemed so genuine. Her mind was jumbled from thinking about his sudden change at the party, wondering if that corresponded in any way, or if she was just paranoid. She was torn between what side to trust and which to not. Billy hadn't been the best to her lately, so this could all be some scheme to ruin something else going for her.

Nicole couldn't know the truth, at least not yet.

"Are you gonna say something?" Watching Nicole chew on her bottom lip for the past five minutes was not how Billy expected the girl to react.

"I just— I don't really know what to say, I guess." Her blue eyes stared up at his own, causing Billy to shift in his seat.

"I can't force you to believe me, but it would really suck finding out the hard way." He spoke truthfully, taking a cigarette out from his pack and placing it between his lips.

This was absolutely no where near the time or place, but Nicole couldn't stop her mind from traveling to places it shouldn't as she watched the blonde.

"Billy?" Her voice was so small coming out, the Californian almost missed it.

"Yeah?" He mumbled as he lit the cigarette with his zippo, flicking it shut once he succeeded.

However, when he glanced up to actually get a look at the girl, he already knew what was going on. She had a perfect blush spread across her cheeks, and he hands clenched this edge of his bed. Her bottom lip was perfectly placed between her teeth, yet her eyes were stuck staring at the ground. Billy let a smirk plaster on his face, a small scoff escaping his lips as he took a drag from the nicotine between his lips.

His hand came up to retrieve the object from his mouth, and he stood up, exhaling the toxic smoke on his way up. His long legs closed the distance from his desk to his bed quickly, before he bent down to be eye level with the embarrassed girl sat in front of him. Nicole's eyes still wouldn't meet with his own, and he had to bring his hand up to her chin to force her eyes into his own.

"What do you want, Nicki?" The nickname was new, and surprised her more than she could've imagine.

"N-nothing." Her stutter was a dead giveaway, and Billy chuckled as he took another drag from his cigarette.

"I won't tell, just as long as you promise to continue to be my little secret." Billy's voice came out low, almost taunting.

Nicole flicked her eyes up to his, finally, before they flicked down to his plump pink lips, "okay.."

Nicole had already been breathless from the agreement she practically just signed, but as Billy's lips hastily collided with hers it was like all the air she could've had in her lungs was sucked away. Something about kissing the boy just felt so right to her, that missing feeling suddenly turned whole. It didn't take long for her hands to tangle within the boys golden locks, flushing her body against his own. Somehow, Billy managed to ash out his cigarette  and place it on the side table by his bed.

His hand carefully placed itself on the small of her back as he straightened out to bring their bodies closer. Nicole couldn't help but let out the small moans stuck at the back of her throat, which only satisfied Billy in knowing the effect he held. However, the blissful moment was soon cut short as Billy decided to be a very despised tease.

"It's getting late, princess. Don't want to be tired for school, so we?" He smirked as he pulled away, leaving Nicole to frustratedly throw her body back onto the bed.

"I fucking hate you."
