TSA'TVAYI

‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿

TSA'TVAYI SHIFTED ON THE MAT, her grip tight around Neteyam's hand. The rest of the family was strewn around them, their eyes shut as they allowed themselves a moment to rest. The alien boy- Spider, they called him- laid further away from the family, his back to a wall. She could see the tears on his face even through his mask and, despite everything, couldn't stop herself from feeling bad.

He was a child in the same way that they all were. Tsa'tvayi could argue that Neteyam didn't deserve the life he had lived, yet the alien boy was younger and she placed blame on him. She had not forgiven him but she could one day come to.

A couple of days had passed since the incident, the boy occasionally letting out small hums before returning to a deep sleep. She'd taken a permanent position in his family's pod, her eyes always flickering to his body.

Her ears flickered as he let out a groan, her eyes immediately snapping to his face and watching as his brows furrowed. She lent forward and bit her tongue in expectation as his eyes fluttered, once, twice, then opened.

She felt a wave of relief crash over her, a smile overtaking her face. His eyes were dazed at first, but he blinked and then began looking around the room. Then their eyes met, and Tsa'tvayi wanted to crash forward and wrap her arms tightly around him.

He was alive.

"Neteyam," she whispered, as she shuffled closer and pressed a hand to his face. "You are awake."

He smiled softly and blinked. "Ma'Vayi."

Her ears flicked back as she turned her head away to hide the blush on her face. Tsa'tvayi had noticed the added endearment to her name, but the situation hadn't allowed her to really think about it. Now, she had fight back the smile that threatened to expose her.

Neteyam wrapped a hand around her wrist and gave her a weak tug, Tsa'tvayi's head snapping to him immediately. He was grinning at her, the freckles on his face alight.

"What is it?" She whispered as he tugged on her hand again.

The boy blinked softly, smile still on his face, "Come," he tugged again. "Lay down with me."

Tsa'tvayi's eyes widened at his words, her brows furrowing. "You are injured, Neteyam."

Neteyam tugged once again. "And you are my mate, Tsa'tvayi. You will not allow me the comfort of my mate?" His eyes seemed to sparkle in the darkness of the pod, Tsa'tvayi's heart skipping a beat in her chest.

He was teasing her, his hand warm around her wrist. Tsa'tvayi comforted herself with the idea that he didn't seem upset about her actions, didn't appear to hate her for the decision she had taken from him.

When he tugged once more on her hand, Tsa'tvayi let out a small sigh and shuffled over before laying besides him, his tail coming to curl around her thigh. Neteyam shifted to face her, the pair looking at each other under the eclipse.

"Thank you," he whispered while placing a hand on her cheek.

Tsa'tvayi closed her eyes for a moment as she embraced the feeling of his hand against her face, of the life in his body.

"I feared you would not live," She confessed under the darkness that surrounded them, her eyes opening once again. She stared at him, connected the freckles on his face with her eyes. "I fired you would leave me."

Neteyam placed his hand on the back of her neck and pulled her closer until their foreheads were touching. "Never, ma'Vayi," he breathed as he stared firmly into her eyes. "I would not leave my mate, not ever." He leaned closer, the tips of their noses brushing.

"I see you, ma'Vayi," he whispered, Tsa'tvayi's eyes fluttering shut as she swallows harshly.

"I see you, ma'Teyam," she responded before his lips met hers.

Neteyam kissed her like she was his oxygen, pulling back only to catch his breath before diving forward once again. He had one hand tangled in her hair and the other on her cheek, his tail curled tightly around her thigh. Tsa'tvayi let out a small sigh as she wrapped her hands around his neck, the feeling of her first kiss with her mate overwhelming her.

They separated hesitantly, Tsa'tvayi panting like someone who had never held their breath before. Neteyam's eyes were soft as he caressed her cheek and leaned his forehead against hers once again.

"I want to ask you for one more thing, Tsa'tvayi, as selfish as it may seem." His voice was soft, merely a whisper into the night, and Tsa'tvayi nodded. She would do anything for him.

"From tsaheylu with me?" He pressed a quick kiss to her lips. "Please, ma'Vayi. I want to feel our bond with a clear mind." He pressed another kiss to her lips, Tsa'tvayi holding back a smile as his eyes continued flicking between her eyes and lips, as if he couldn't decide what to do.

"This is not something that you need to ask, ma'Teyam," she responded softly as she pulled her queue from behind her back, Neteyam copying her movements and reaching for his. "We are mates now. I wish to apologize first," she continued as Neteyam dropped a kiss onto her neck.

The boy hummed in question, his head lifting as he met her eyes. "I am sorry for taking the choice of a mate away from you," she whispered. "But I could not let you die. Not like that."

Neteyam's brow furrowed before her reached down and connected their queues, a pleased sound escaping him as the bond flooded their being. Tsa'tvayi could feel every part of him, his fears and his joys, his love and his hatred.

She could also feel the warmth that filled him at that moment, the happiness he felt as he experienced the bond clearly.

He wrapped a hand around the back of her neck and pulled her closer once again, placing kisses repeatedly on her lips. Neteyam was liked a starved man as he touched her, the tsaheylu multiplying all of their feelings.

"Ma'vayi," he hummed between kisses. "This is the only choice I could have made and I will thank Eywa for my injury if this remains the result."

Tsa'tvayi felt a tear run down her face at his reassurance, her tail wrapping around his side. She moved closer, their legs tangled, and wrapped her arms around his waist, Neteyam wrapping his around her shoulders.

They laid like that, exhaustion pulling them into a deep sleep, where they remained tangled together, the tsaheylu allowing for them to dream as one.

Quick note, I said I wouldn't do any more, but this is important.

There's only two chapters left!! I'm kind of sad about it. Good news though, I do plan on writing more avatar fanfics. I can write more than one at the same time, but the updates would be slower than with this story.

I'm asking you guys to vote for the next ship: (quick note, the Jake, Tsu'tey, and Jake/Neytiri books would be longer than Tacenda, because I have watched the e movie)

Jake x OC
-which would take place during the first movie with a Na'vi OC
-We'd get some good Neytiri X Tsu'Tey
- We'd have hot Jake Sully... I'm obsessed with all of the edits on tiktok, my gallery is full of Jake and Neteyam.

Tsu'tey x OC
-I don't think Tsu'tey would mate a dream walker after what happened to Neytiri's sister, so the OC would be na'vi
-Maybe enemies to lovers ????
-We'd get hot Tsu'tey because honestly he can get it

Lo'ak x OC
-Another story in the metkayina clan
-Lo'ak would get someone to support him, but to also straighten him out a little
-Neteyam would get a bestie
-Imagine this: Lo'ak being the thirsty son of Jake that he is and OC things he's just joking.

Neytiri x OC x Jake
-Avatar OC
-OC was special forces just because a trio of baddie warriors?? That's what I call couple goals
-OC of color
-Neytiri falls first and Jake trips and crashes second
-The tension??? Just imagine the tension.
-I'd figure a way around the tsaheylu-only-mate-one-person thing
