"it's funny how much they actually argue" ashton comments, causing madi and alana to laugh
"it's definitely never dull here" she says, standing up to go stop the triplets from killing each other
madi, alana, and ashton hadn't been an unexpected friendship, the triplets had been meaning to introduce them, but they were busy with upcoming projects and their schedules always clashed, ashton hadn't even meant to be at the sturniolo household, but he was bored and miles wasn't home.
"nick, stop bullying your brothers, come on. i want to watch the movie" madi's voice carries from the kitchen, causing ashton to laugh; laughing harder when madi walks back in with no triplets following her
"let me try" ashton says, getting up to go see what they're arguing about
"alright assholes, what's going on in here?" ashton asks, once he's in the kitchen, going to stand by nick
"which stranger things male is most likely to be gay" matt mutters quietly
"seriously? that's what caused you three to argue for an hour? χαζοί (fools)" ashton questions in bewilderment
"hey! don't call us fools in your fancy greek language" nick says
"ahh, but you are, fools, all of you. now let's go watch our movie before i smack all your heads together." ashton states, grabbing nick's wrist to pull him out of the kitchen, "and for the record, it's noah." he says, adding his input to their argument conversation
"i said noah, and they all said i was crazy" nick whispers to ashton, as he slides their hands together to lace their fingers
"i know, and besides, it's all fun and games." ashton says, sitting back on the couch from earlier
"i know" nick smiles
"so what are we watching?" chris questions from where he's sitting next to madi
"i don't know, i'm down for something like scary though" ashton says, grabbing a blanket from the pile in the middle of the floor, that alana is lying on
"okay, so scary. what movie though?" matt says, scrolling through the horror section
"the black phone?" ashton suggests, "miles watched it with jude, they said it was good." he says, "plus jude said miles almost shit his pants so, we have to"
"the black phone it is" matt says, clicking on the title, and grabbing a blanket from the pile; getting comfortable in the beanbag
"how scary did they say this movie was?" nick whispers
"well miles almost shit himself, but he's a wimp, and jude is fourteen so i'd say maybe a six and a half?" ashton whispers back, "if you get scared, you can hold my hand"
"promise?" nick whispers
"of course, i promise" ashton says focusing back onto the movie
when the grabber gets revealed
"oh my god, he's hot as fuck." ashton said, thinking he was quieter than he actually was, causing everyone to start laughing
"i'm literally right here" nick says, pushing himself closer to ashton
at some point during the movie they had all shifted, matt and chris were now on the couch that chris and madi had been occupying, madi had moved so she was laying on top of the blanket pile, cuddled up with alana. nick and ashton, had moved to a lying position, ashton on his back, with nick laying on top of him
"i know that, but it's ethan hawke, you can't blame me" ashton says laughing, pointing at the screen absentmindedly
"i never said i didn't agree." nick says
"c'mon lovebirds, movies almost over" matt says, getting the two boys to stop talking about what a 'dreamboat' ethan hawke is (he's so fine omg)
after the movie
"i was literally right" nick says out of nowhere
"what do you mean?" matt asks
"it's noah" nick says
"what do you mean 'it's noah' you're going to have to be more specific" chris laughs
"noah schnapp just came out as gay" nick says proudly
"must be something with the initials 'n.s'" ashton jokes
"must be" nick smiles
"i'm bored and it's still early. but i don't think i can sit through another movie" matt says, forgetting he's on the couch, he rolls over and onto the floor, landing next to madi
"mads, lana, you awake still?" ashton asks, throwing a couch pillow at them
"ashton i swear to god, throw something else at me, i will castrate you" madi threatens
"fuck off" alana says instead
"alright, noted. just put youtube on or something" ashton comments, "we're all on our phones anyway"
"true" matt says, opening youtube and scrolling through the home page,"who do we want to use as background noise though?" he questions
"uhm just do anyone, i don't think any of us are going to make it through the video anyway" ashton said, knowing madi was almost asleep, based on her quietness, and nick would follow in suit, chris might've already been asleep, having not said anything since ashtons ethan hawke comment and matt sounded tired
ashton had been at the sturniolo house since about eight that evening, madi came at nine, alana at nine fifteen with matt, who went out to get food for everyone. since being at their house relatively early, the group of six had really just messed around.
"fair" matt says, clicking a random video
'hey guys, it's ashton' ashton glances from his phone to the tv, which is now sporting on of his videos, "did you seriously put on one of my videos?" he asks
"yeah, you're boring. if anyone can put us to sleep its you" matt jokes
"love you too, bernie." ashton teases
"fuck off" matt says, turning back to his phone, ashton following in suit. dropping on hand into nick's hair, the other scrolls through tiktok.
