Anuj was sitting in his room and was looking outside. The phone rang in the living room and Ankush picked up the phone.
Ankush: Anuj! Neeche aa!
Anuj came down lazily. He didn't want to come but he had to. He came down and sat on the sofa nearby.
Anuj: Kya hua?
Ankush: tumhare dost ka phone hai India se. Lo baat karo!
Anuj: Kaun hai?
Ankush: Koi Anupama hai..
Anuj: Anupama!
His eyes lit up and all of a sudden he became all energetic. He quickly sprang up from the sofa and ran towards Ankush and snatched the phone from him and turned his back towards him.
Anuj: He..hello..
Anupama: Anuj..
Anuj felt a wave of happiness travel accross his body. He had heard Anupama's voice after such a long time! Anuj turned back and saw Ankush still standing behind him. Anuj tried to make Ankush go away so he could talk in privacy.
Anuj: Ankush bhai, vo mujhe paani chahiye..
Ankush: Ha toh yeh lo..
There was a jug of water along with an empty glass kept next to the landline. Ankush took out water from it and gave it to Anuj. Anuj took the water and smiled forcefully.
Anuj: Thank you..
Ankush looked at Anuj for a while and then laughed.
Ankush: Yeh chahte ho ki mai yaha se chala jau taki tum privacy me baat karo?
Anuj: (under his breath) Ha..
Ankush: Kya?!
Anuj: Mera matlab hai nahi..matlab ha.. matlab!
Ankush: Jaata hu! Jaata hu! Anuj seedhe hi bol dete ki jao yaha se mujhe privacy me baat karni hai!
Anuj: Woh aisa kuch nahi hai bhai..
But before he could complete his sentence Ankush had already left. Anuj looked around to see if anyone else was there or not. Seeing the coast clear, he kept the receiver on his ear.
Anuj: Anupama..
Devika: Anu nahi Devika!
Anuj: Devika!
Devika: Anuj tumne itna time laga diya ki bechari Anu yaha se chali gayi!
Anuj: Oh..woh kya kare ghar ke log jaa hi nahi rahe the! Ab dekho na aaram se baat karne ke liye toh thoda privacy chahiye na!
Devika started laughing. Anuj could hear some noise from behind her, he thought it might be her family.
Devika: Anu! Aa jaa! Le apne Anuj se baat kar!
Anuj: Anupama!
Anuj's was suddenly lit up and on the other hand, Anupama's face was red she came and took the receiver from Devika and slightly pushed Devika away indicating her to leave. Devika laughed and left from there.
Anupama: Anuj..
Anuj: Anupama..
There was a short period of silence, but the silence wasn't awkward silence, it was a silence which conveyed their satisfaction of hearing each other's voice after a long time.
Anupama: Anuj, kab aa rahe ho wapis?
Anuj: kuch din aur baki hai, Jai hi ghar wapis aaunga tumse milunga..mera matlab hai tum dono se milunga..tum se aur Devika se!
Anupama: Ha zaroor, jaise hi aao milna zaroor!
Anuj: tum dono ke liye gifts bhi khareed kiya hai maine! Aate hi dunga!
Anupama: Intezar rahega..
Anuj: mujhe bhi..
Anupama: Chalo phir..jaldi aana!
Anuj: Ha! Jaldi aaunga! Bye!
Anupama: Bye!
Anuj kept the receiver down and smiled. He ran up to the room and jumped on the bed with happiness.
Anuj:
Iss doori ne bana dala hai mujhe muntazir,
Bulao toh ho jayu mai kabhi bhi hazir,
Yaad teri tadpati hai til til,
Yaad kar khilkhilata hai yeh mera dil.
Anupama..bohot yaad aati hai tumhari..
Ankush: Anuj, woh Anupama teri woh hai kya?
Anuj looked at Ankush in shock! He didn't know he was already there in his room. Ankush was already there since the time Anuj had literally made him go away from there. He was sitting on the bean bag in Anuj's room after that.
Anuj: Bhai! Aap yaha kab se?!
Ankush: Arre yaar time toh bohot ho gaya hai yaha, jab se hum India chodke aaye hai tab se bas yaha hi hu, America me!
He started laughing and Anuj's face went red. Ankush came there and sat on the bed next to Anuj. Ankush ruffled Anuj's hair and the two started laughing.

Anuj's trip was almost over and he was there in his room packing his bags to leave for India. Ankush came here and saw a smile on Anuj's face while packing whereas everytime before this Anuj usually used to be sad that he's leaving but this time it looked as if he was dying to leave for India.
He left USA for India and the entire way he had a smile on his face. He reached India and the very next day he called Devika and called her and Anupama to his house. Upon reaching, they got their gifts and opened with full excitement.

Soon the vacations were gone and normal college started off again. The year was going pretty amazing specially with Anupama and Anuj in love. Devika found many many chances to tease them. Anupama had not yet told anyone about their relation at home.
One such day, she came home from college and saw a family sitting inside her house and her mother and brother talking to them. She entered the house.
Kanta: Anu, beta inke pau chuo..
Anupama bent down and touched their feets and stopped mid air after hearing the purpose of them being here.
Kanta: yeh humari beti hai Anupama, jiski shaadi ki baat kar rahe hai hum aapke bete ke sath..
Baa: Aacha..jeete raho beta!
Bapu ji: jeete raho!
Moti Baa: mereko ko toh yeh chokri pasand aa gayi hai! Khush raho beta!
Anupama stood up and went to stand behind her mother. She stayed mum the entire time and after they left she went to her mother.
Anupama: Maa yeh shaadi ki baat kaha se aa gayi?
Kanta: Anu beta teri umar nikle jaa rahi hai isiliye maine yaha ke sabse accha rishta chuna hai tumhare liye!
Anuapama: Par maa..mereko yeh shaadi nahi karni..Maa!
Before she could argue any further, her mother left from their. She was busy in some of her own work. Anupama ran to Devika's house and told her the entire story and explained her the entire situation. Devika consoled her saying that everything will be fine but she was herself pretty scares thinking about what will happen. After Anupama left, Devika called up Anuj and asked him to meet her at her place. Anuj quickly came there.
Anuj: Kya hua Devika?! Kya problem aa gayi hai?
Devika: Bohot badi problem hai yaar!
Anuj: Devika kya hua yeh toh batao! Phone pe toh aise bol rahi thi jaise ki kisi ki jaan chale jayegi agar late hua toh yaha pahunchne me!
Devika: Ek rishta laya hai shaadi ke liye!
Anuj: Devika! Seriously? Yeh problem thi? Isme mai kya kar sakta hu?
Devika: Kya kar sakta hu kya?! Jo karna hai ab tum hi kar sakte ho?!
Anuj: Dekho Devika, agar tumhare liye shaadi ka rishta aaya hai toh isme mai kya kar sakta hu bhala?
Devika: Arre pagle! Mere liye nahi!
Anuj: Toh aur kiske liye?! Tere ghar me mere liye thodi aayega ki mujhe itne jaldi se bulaya!
Devika: Dekh Anuj yeh bakwas mat kar! Abhi na mazak karne ka time nahi hai!
Anuj: Accha! Sorry sorry! Ab bol na kya baat hai!
Devika: Pagle, Anu ki Maa ne uske liye ek rishta laya hai shaadi ke liye! Aaj woh ladke wale Anu ko pasand karke bhi gaye hai!
Anuj: KYA?!
Devika: Ha Anuj! Kuch karna hoga! Anuj ab tu hi kuch kar sakta hai..tu jaa aur auntie ko apne dil ki baat bata de! Woh bohot understanding hai!
Anuj: Devika thodi sensible baat kar! Aise kaise jaa sakta hu muh utha kar aur kahu ki mujhe aapki beti se shaadi karni hai aur aap uska hath mere haatho me do aur jis lakde walk ko aapne bulaya tha unko bana kar do! Yeh theek nahi hai Devika! Kuch aur soochna hoga!
Devika: Aur kya kar sakta hai tu Anuj?!
Anuj: Woh ladka kaun hai, aur kaha milega..kuch maaloom hai?
Devika: Abhi toh nahi par pata kar sakti hu kal tak..
Anuj: Theek hai tu iss kaam me lag mai aur raaste thoondhta hu..
Devika got to work and as said she got the full details about Vanraj and his family from the Pandit ji which brought them there. Anuj took the address and went up to meet Vanraj directly. From his office he got to know that Vanraj was gone to a Cafe. He went there and saw Vanraj with some girl. A smile came on his face. He knew that now Vanraj might just understand his situation and help out here. After the girl left, Anuj walked up to Vanraj.
Anuj: Vanraj Shah?
Vanraj: Ji..aap kaun?
Anuj: Anuj..Anuj Kapadia!
Vanraj: Mai aapko jaanta hu?
Anuj: Ji nahi..par aap meri ek khas dost ko jaante hai..
Vanraj: Accha..kaun?
Anuj: Anupama..Anupama Joshi..
Vanraj recalled her name after a while.
Vanraj: Oh ha! Yes I remember..boliye mai aapki kya madad kar sakta hu?
Anuj: Ab aap hi madad kar sakte ho mera..
Vanraj: Maane?
Anuj: Maine abhi bhi jis ladki ko dekha I'm sure woh aapki..sorry for interrupting your privacy..but woh aapki girlfriend thi na?
Vanraj looked around and a little uncomfortable. He looked at Anuj and then here and there.
Anuj: Dekhiye, aapki situation aur meri situation ek jaisi hi hai samjhiye..
Vanraj: Ha woh meri girlfriend hai..par mai abhi bhi nahi samajh paya ki mai aapki kya madad kar sakta hu..
Anuj explained to him the entire situation and he understood the entire problem quite clearly.
Vanraj: Oh toh aisi baat hai! Khair yeh jo aap chahte ho woh mujhe samjhaye se kuch nahi hone wala. Agar tum moti baa ko samjha paye toh hi yeh shaadi ruk sakti hai..meri hi nahi chal rahi meri shaadi ke maamle me..
Anuj: Moti baa?
Vanraj: Ha..meri Dadi..unhe samjhaye liya toh samjhna ki baat ban gayi tumhari..
Anuj: Theek hai samjha lenge! Par mai unse milu kaise?
Vanraj: Koi nahi, woh mai karwa dunga.. par tayar rehna, bohot mushkil hone wala hai yeh kaam..woh itne jaldi nahi maanne wali..
Anuj: koi nahi mai try toh kar ji sakta hu..iss tarah se aapko aapki girlfriend mil jayegi aur mujhe meri..yaha sab bas khush hi honge!
Vanraj: baat toh sahi hai par Moti Baa ko Anupama pasand aa gayi hai, yeh hi ek problem hai..agar mana pao toh iss se behtar aur kya ho sakta hai! Maine koshish ki thi par meri ek na sunne woh log!
Anuj: Arre manane ka kaam aap mujhpar chod do! Yeh kaam mai kar dunga! Aap bas mujhe apni Moti Baa se milwa do phir soocho ki kaam ban gaya humara!

So guys..24th January 2022, this was the date I started my first fanfic 'The New Girl' which started my journey on Wattpad and today I'm here writing another story! In the beginning I had not though that even one story of mine would be liked but with all the immense love shown by all of you guys has kept me motivated to continue writing! I know I'm not consistent with my updates but that is due to the tight schedule of my college and all the research work that I'm getting. But this day is very close to my heart since from this day onwards I got my wattpad family of all of you guys, all my Raina Fans, MaAn fans and Akshan Fans! I will try and stand up to all of your expectations and write wonderful stories for all of you guys! I'll soon be writing on more ships and hope to have this family grow even more over time! Thank you all for sticking with me!
