Haechan had intended to sleep in for the day, yet he found himself at the door of a familiar house.
"Chaeyoung, open the door!" He stood outside in the windy air, arms shivering as he struggled to gain warmth, balancing on one foot to the other.
The sound of keys locking and twisting was enough to snap him out and rush into the house the second the door opened.
Someone yelped and crashed to the floor, Haechan look down and at his feet was Chaeyoung, holding her head in pain.
He shut the door, holding out a hand for her, a playful grin slapped across his face, she glared at him, "You couldn't wait? I have things to do."
Haechan deadpanned, "And the things you have to do are nothing compared to mine," he sighed making himself comfortable as Chaeyoung trudged behind him, walking past and into the kitchen where she opened the fridge, grabbing a cartoon of apple juice and pouring herself a glass.
He noticed the house was empty, and on a friday, it was odd, the place should have been filled to the brim, normally Renjun would be here, along with Mark and YangYang, yet not one echo of a person was heard.
Chaeyoung came back with a handbag, "Renjun went home, he got a little tired." Donghyuck shuddered, "I don't wanna know the implications of tired."
Chaeyoung frowned, "You don't! He was just tired we have a painting session." "Wow." Haechan muttered, facing the hallway view, he sighed, "Say, you know where Haneul went?"
Chaeyoung smirked, "Why, you wondering?" Haechan nodded honestly, Chaeyoung's eyes raised suspicion, "Why do you wanna know, got somewhere you wanna be?"
"Maybe."
The words shot out of his mouth surprising himself even, Chaeyoung let out a piercing laugh, she wiped the fake tears from the corners of her eyes, she folded her arms finally leaning to the side, balancing on her hip.
Her eyes seems to scan him up and down before simply smiling, "You like her don't you?"
Haechan now rolled his eyes, "No, what, I've known her for 3 weeks now."
"So close to a month," She finished, Chaeyoung smiled, "Whatever lover boy, I can help you but for a small fee, she's with Renjun at the aquarium remember."
Haechan shrugged, "And."
"And," She finished, "I can help but I need something in return," she beamed, "I'm going to make you the best couple SIU has ever seen, I have a plan, it's new but it's a plan."
Haneul hadn't expected to see Haruna at the swim meet.
She stood beside her brother, Yichen was with them.
NingNing wasn't there, but Haneul suddenly felt the urge to leave. But that was until Yichen caught sight of her.
He smiled and waved, causing Hiro and Haruna to also stare her way. Haneul tried to pay them no attention, she just waved back at Yichen.
When she walked over, she was pulled into a hug by him. "Hey, you came to watch? NingNing's not here." Haneul shrugged, "That's fine, she told me to cheer you on."
Haruna said something she couldn't catch to her brother and left, leaving just the three of them. Yichen eyed the two before smiling, "Welp I gotta go, tell NingNing I said hi."
He left before the words could leave Haneul's mouth. She glanced at Hiro, "So..." the atmosphere was clearly awkward, Hiro slightly grimaced, "This is awkward not gonna lie, um how are you."
The poor boy was trying, Haneul say something!
She sighed, relaxing instantly from the tension, "Yeah, sorry for that night," she eyed Haruna who was on her phone, "I see Haruna still doesn't like me."
Hiro placed a hand on her shoulder, "Hey, I don't think she hated you, you guys just grew apart, and you never said goodbye."
Yikes. This wasn't looking good for her.
Haruna flushed, "I know, and I'm really sorry."
Hiro smiled, his expression deemed he was trying to look for the right words, "Don't pop up in her face and rub salt on the wound, show that her that your really sorry."
Haneul nodded.
They said goodbye to each other after before Haneul made her way out, she didn't notice Haruna's eyes watching her.
Back at home, she sighed, laying back in her chair at the desk, she flipped through pages of homework in her binder, logging onto the class website to complete her work for the day.
The sound of footsteps alerted her from her work and she pushed the chair back, peeking at the door, there Haechan stood with Meilin, their shadows moving in the light.
She saw him smile before entering the room and Meilin closing the door slightly behind her. Haneul suddenly frowned, a small pang of jealousy and confusion seeped into her chest and she felt a lump in her throat.
What exactly were they doing? Wait did Jaemin know?
Around 11PM, Haneul woke from her sleep, the sound of a door shutting stirred her from bed, slowly removing the sheets from her body as she sat up.
Her door was still agar so she could see who was there, yet she hadn't expected Meilin to creep out her room like an intruder, tip towing away and down the hall.
Haneul sat there listening as the sound of the door opening and closing echoed through the apartment, she blinked, sitting there for some time until she remembered the exam she had tomorrow.
As she lay there, she wondered what went on that night, whatever it was, she would find out.
