Day 4
You got scared
How, you may ask? The sun was bright, the wind was cooling, and you had a good sleep last night. It seemed like a glorious day. Well... "GET BACK HERE!" Garp yelled as Luffy ran past you and Makino- sending another breeze run through you. "No!" You heard Luffy yell as he then tripped on a rock and rolled down a hill as Garp chased him.
"DON'T TRY TO GET AWAY FROM ME!"
Makino chuckled a little, "Don't be like Luffy, okay?" You nodded, sweat dropping as you picked up a shirt that fell from the breeze. You dusted it and put it back in the basket Makino was holding. You heard the mayor mutter beneath his breath about having "at least a good one" as he passed.
Makino greeted him and you spoke a small "Morning", as he nodded in appreciation and returned the gesture. "(Y/N)!!" You heard Luffy yell as he came tumbling into you, knocking both of you over.
"Ow... That hurt!" Luffy groaned as he was then picked up by the back of his shirt and broke out in a cold sweat. "Don't hurt my... GRANDDAUGHTER!" Garp yelled as he proceeded to become a windmill and send Luffy flying. You rubbed the dirt off of your clothing when you fell.
Makino gasped as you watched Luffy fly like a seagull coming for the fisherman's fish. "Luffy!" She shouted worriedly as she rushed over. 'Eh, he's probably fine...' You thought, looking away.

You and Luffy walked out of Makino's bar with Garp in front of you. You were saying goodbye to Mayor and Makino and turned around to head off to the mountain bandit's hideout. You walked side-by-side with Garp as your name was called out.
You were barely able to turn around before you were pulled into a strong hard by Makino. Looking up you saw water trying to leave her eyes. "Please be safe. I'll see you again soon." You hugged her back as you smiled a little. "I'll be back soon."
She let go and patted your head, making you grumble. Makino pushed you gently back to Garp and Luffy who were waiting a few feet away as you started running towards them again. Not before waving to Makino.
Your group made it to the place where supposedly Dadan was, and you were taken aback. There was literally nobody there. Garp went inside and you heard some yelling, someone yelling the lines of, "ACE IS ALREADY 10 YEARS OLD!" making you sweat drop as you saw the three of the bandits on their knees.
"Crappy shack!" Luffy said, staring at them as you slowly nodded at his words. You're glad you didn't say anything as Dadan yelled out, "DO YOU WANNA FIGHT?!- Eh, he's not listening!" The boy then just started chasing the dragonflies. You sighed to the side and looked at Luffy who touched his cheek.
You felt something hit your forehead as you touched it. It was wet and felt gross. You wiped it off and flicked it onto the floor. "Gross..." You muttered as Luffy turned to you. "EH?! YOU GOT HIT TOO?" You nodded as you saw Luffy snap his neck towards the forest.
"Hey you!" He shouted, which made you look too. There was a boy there. Folding his arms and peering down at you two like you were insects. Ah, Ace. You always forgot how much of a little shit he was.
Luffy pointed at the boy, "Apologize!" You saw Ace scoff and roll his eyes. Garp turned around after hearing Luffy's voice, "Oh, Ace!" Garp said calmly, as if expecting him but Ace didn't move even slightly, even as Garp walked over.
"Luffy, (Y/N)- this is Ace. He is 3 and... whatever years older than you." He said, which made you mutter to yourself, "Wow... Thanks." Garp ignored your little comment as he continued, "You're gonna live here with them from now on."
Dadan yelled out, "WHAT? You can't just to that!" You heard Luffy growl at him as he was then hit on the head, "Be nice to each other!" Garp scolded as Dadan interrupted again, "Is it official?!"
Garp then turned to look at her with a scary glare as he spoke, "Yes. Is there an issue?" Dadan and her boys shook their heads violently as you wondered if their spines were okay. Garp smiled, "Well, that's all from me. I'll come as soon as I can!"
Garp and the bandits were together, and the bandits were kind of trying to say no as Garp wasn't having any of it. You looked back to Luffy to see Ace jump down and Luffy stomping towards him. "Luffy-!" You muttered, only for him to stand right in front of Ace.
"Say 'sorry'!" Luffy said as Ace didn't even bat another eye and made his way to the crappy shack- which was right behind you. You broke out in a cold sweat and looked away- only for him to bump shoulders with you and click his tongue.
You sighed, thanking whatever gods that he didn't beat you up with his metal pole.
He went in the house as Luffy ran after him into the house. Of course, you ran after him- not before a sigh of his behaviour. Of course.
"Luffy... psssst! Luffy..." You whispered as you saw Luffy walk further in, only to get a knife to his face and someone step behind you. Colour drained from your face. You forgot about this!
"Who are you?" The bandit holding Luffy asked as he replied, "Let me go!"
"Give me all your money and I'll let you go." He said again as Luffy spoke, "I don't have any!"
The man behind you grabbed your shoulder and looked at the necklace tucked into your shirt that Shanks gave you. "It looks like at least one has some money."
He held your hand up as another bandit spoke, "Then tell your parents to give us some." He demanded.
You couldn't help but sigh, "There isn't anyone-"Except for Gramps, (Y/N)!" You gasped as the grip on your arm tightened. "Oh, really? And who's that?" The same bandit asked.
Then, light came into the room as one of the bandits that you saw with Dadan spoke, "Garp-san." With a plain tone.
The bandits swapped their game quickly after that name, "They're gonna live with us." He said, looking at their reactions.
"WHATTTT?"
"WHY DID YOU SAW YES?"
"THIS ISN'T A DAY CARE!"
They yelled out in protest as the man holding you let go of your shoulder, making you rub it on instinct, and you proceeded to mutter some curses.
"SHUT UP YOU ALL- ITS TIME TO EAT!" Dadan spoke, making everyone silent as she slammed down a basket and everyone went for it. Including Luffy.
You just stood awkwardly at the side-lines, waiting for a turn as you saw how messy it was getting. Pushing others and some people even eating the bone. At the end- the only thing Luffy got was a bowl of rice- not exactly what he wanted.
You (thankfully) got some rice too that Luffy passed you, and you ate your portion patiently as you saw Luffy down it in one go. He grabbed, "Can I have some more?"
Dadan yelled in protest as she then explained where you were. A mountain bandit base. You already knew and you couldn't be bothered to make a reaction. You knew that Dadan couldn't throw either of you out because of Garp.
Although, Luffy didn't even seem fazed by her words as he spoke distastefully, "I hate mountain bandits."
You just kept eating, ignoring Luffy and thinking that you wouldn't get punished. "If you're going to act like that, might as well go and die like a dog!"
She huffed and went back to eating as Luffy pouted. "I'm still hungry." You looked at your bowl and back at him. "Wanna have my rice?"
He nodded and ate the whole thing, making you gawk at him. He looked where Ace was, who was shovelling food into his mouth.
"I want to have some meat too..." You grabbed back of Luffy's shirt, preventing him to walking to Ace, "You can't have it. He got it." Ace then gobbled the last of his food before grabbing his metal pole and running out. Making Luffy run after him and your grip on him slipping, "Luffy-!" You spoke, reaching out to him as Dadan grabbed your shoulder.
"You have chores to do, brat." She laughed evilly as you started panicking internally, "You better get a good night's sleep." Dadan grinned evilly as you gulped. Wondering if you should make a run for it, you decided to run outside only to see Luffy nearly getting rolled over by a tree that had fell over- or rather kicked over.
You couldn't help but sigh, this will be a few interesting years... definitely.

A few days passed. Ace was always followed and chased by Luffy and you were always tugged along. Making you do chores into late at night. Dadan had given you a large scolding but you were conveniently able to get an additional bowl of rice on those days.. Hm.
You ran after Luffy, who was running after Ace who was coincidently running away from the both of you. Ace had ran onto a bridge as you stopped right before stepping on the shady wood and put your hands in your knees. Breathing heavily. You looked up just in time for Ace to smack Luffy off the bridge with his metal pole. You hissed.
"Luffy- God, that looked painful..." You muttered under your breath as you and Ace then made eye contact. He glared at you harshly with his cold eyes while you awkwardly looked away. Luffy screamed as he hit the water at the bottom, Ace didn't even flinch as he walk away to the other side of the bridge. "I'll smack the crap out of you if you follow me like he did. Understood?"
You couldn't help but sigh and nod solemnly however he seemed pleased, so he kept walking. You frowned as you didn't see Luffy. Anxiety was bubbling in your stomach but you ignored it. You went back to the house. Luffy could handle himself you told yourself as you've seen throughout the series.
You returned to Curly Dadan as she yelled at you and ordered you to take out the rubbish, mop the floors, wash the walls and go to bed without hassle. A few hours passed and Ace came back to the house you were now going to be living at. How long? Who knows. You weren't interested in becoming a pirate after all. Maybe you'll just live here...
They then asked about Luffy and where he was which Ace plainly replied with a "I don't know." That was at sunset but now its night-time, you saw him deal with it himself, but you can't help but be uneasy as you peered out the window, wondering if you'll catch a glimpse of him—Before you remembered that Luffy would be missing.
Although, he did come back with bad injuries... Should you try to find him early?
Curly Dadan's boisterous laughter came from the other side of the door, Dogra was talking to her, "He could be dead! This isn't good we lost him in the first day!" Dadan couldn't help but chuckle, "Who cares?! If he dies, he dies! The only person that cares about him here is that little girl." She took another drink as Magra spoke up. "Garp's gonna kill us, y'know?"
Curly Dadan scoffed, "Uh, in the first place why should I even care for one of his grandchildren, let alone two?! He has to take some responsibility!" Magma asked, "Why don't you tell him," As Curly Dadan went into defence mode.
"Why don't you say that to him then?! I can hardly handle Ace and I'm giving up hope for him- we'll just say it was an accident that led to the little brat's death. Ace is the devil's child, sooner or later the same path will follow."
Magma and Dogra took the drinks away from her as Ace came into the room you were in and came onto his bed, making you look at him with remorse but didn't say anything as that could upset him further.

Mayor is considering letting Makino adopt you and if she doesn't, he might adopt you in her steed
Extra Scene
The sea crashed mightily onto the boat, making less experienced members fall over onto each other, inexperienced, as the captain stood strongly against the wind. Making members of his loyal crew smile, he was the one they followed after all. He had to be strong.
He opened his eyes wondering what would be coming next. More harsh water or no clouds what-so-ever or a pigmented rainbow or a bright sun blazing on his skin? He chuckled as he simply came to a conclusion: Only time will tell.
"Captain." His first man called out from behind him. He turned around and smiled, "I know. Let's set sail. There's only so much time, after all."
