Taehyun groaned as his alarm went off. Stretching a lazy arm to his bedside table he shut the annoying thing off. Snuggling back in the comfort of his bed, thinking of getting only a mere five more minutes of sleep.

The thought hit him as his tired eyes gave out. He had a reason for getting up earlier than usual. The comfort of his bed was tempting but his goal of today was more important. Crawling across the large bed, he stopped a few times to rest. No matter how many times he wakes
up early he just couldn't get use to it.

Taehyun sluggishly planted his feet in his house slippers. Yawning loudly and rubbing the sleep from his eyes as he walked over to medium size window to the right. Drawing the curtains, the rays of the morning sun caused Taehyun to squint his eyes and block most of the light with his arm.

The view was great and he would enjoy it if he was under different circumstances. A little more sleep and he could gawk at the rising sun. A small garden was situated just in view below Taehyun's window. It had lost most of his flowers, overgrown with weeds and vine. He sighed, such a garden when attended, could add to the magnificent view. What did he expect from Beomgyu, the man sits around and orders people. A garden is the least of his worries.

Stretching his limbs, it was time to get down with business. The house was quiet as usual. With two persons living in such a huge house it was bound to be quiet, except when Beomgyu threw childish tantrums that leads to bickering between him and Taehyun.

Taehyun didn't think about it the first time he arrived but it surprised him how there were no other butlers or maids. He could understand if the reason was such, He had first hand experience with Beomgyu to know what he's like, not very boss worthy. If only his employees knew what he was like.

Taehyun entered the kitchen, flicking on the lights to prepare his breakfast. There was little in the fridge and cupboards. He would have to visit the grocery store soon. This time buying for himself rather than the Brainless CEO.

He ended up settling for cereal. Having to be discrete as much as possible, this was just the right breakfast. Beomgyu wouldn't hear the pouring of milk and cereal or the crunching every time he takes a spoon fill.

Finishing up he got up from around the island, only to hit his toe on the nearby stool, sending the bowl and spoon flying on the floor. The sound echoed through the room if not the whole house. Cursing under his breath about his own clumsiness, Taehyun picked up the bowl and spoon, glancing at the entrance awaiting Beomgyu to come storming down the stairs and annoy his ears off. Luckily he didn't, the noise wasn't enough to wake the sleeping man upstairs.

Washing the bowl, spoon and glass that he poured himself some Apple juice since they were out of orange juice. The kitchen was just as when he came in, no evidence was left behind. Going back up the stairs, Taehyun got ready for a day at the office. His usual black and white suit was fitting as always, hair in its usual style, It was just your average Kang Taehyun.

The last thing left for him to do was grab his car keys and head for the front door. The problem was he couldn't find his car keys, they could be anywhere. He hasn't driven
his own car since he angrily pulled up in Beomgyu's driveway that day. The poor thing was sitting there accumulating dust. He was about to turn his room upside down-if not the whole house- when he found the damn thing under the bed.

Taehyun had to crawl to the far top just to grab it. His suit only suffered a small amount of damage though. Now ready, he headed out the doors. His car parked in an odd position waited to be used by its master again. Hopping
in the drivers seat, Taehyun drove out the gates of the place he supposed he should call home.

It didn't take long before Taehyun arived at Choi Enterprise. Thirty minutes earlier than usual. He cheerfully greeted the receptionist before he entered the elevator. She was surprised that the CEO wasn't with him this morning but kept her mouth shut as she greeted. "Good Morning Mr. Kang."

Taehyun, for some odd reason was in a better mood. Was it possibly due to having apple juice instead of his usual orange, Who knows. The elevator stopped on the ninth floor. Only a few employees had arrived, sipping their cup of coffee as they awaited the day to come. Strolling pass Beomgyu's office and further down the halls of the ninth floor, Taehyun had only watched from afar, he never had a reason to venture into the depths of the ninth floor. His eyes kept on the lookout for the person in question. The ninth floor was much different from the fifth floor, even the break room was way better.

Taehyun finally spotted a familiar girl, eating a crustacean and working from her laptop. Ignoring the weird glances, Taehyun walked over to her.

She lifted her head from the screen of her laptop, surprised to see the CEO's assistant before her. Placing the half eaten Crustacean down she said. "Is something wrong?" Worry washed her face as she pushed her laptop
to the side. Why in blazes would the CEO's assistant visit her this early in the morning.

Taehyun took a seat, smiling fondly at woman. That didn't seem to ease her worry a bit. "I'm pretty sure you know me but l'm saying it anyways, ľ'm Taehyun, Kang Taehyun."

"Kim Chaewon." she replied automatically.

"For the record" Taehyun leaned over the table. "I'm here for my own personal reasons"

Chaewon let out a shaky breath of relief. "You surprised me there for a bit." she tried laughing it off. "So what is this personal business of yours?"

"Since I don't really know anyone on the ninth floor and you're the only person I've ever exchange a few words with, I was hoping you could help me with something."

"If its in my capabilities, I'll help you." Chaewon said, relaxing in the chair.

"I'm looking for somewhere to set up my own little office" Taehyun shrugged. "Is there an empty desk, somewhere an old employee left?"

Taehyun had thought about it, he was working on the ninth floor yet he spent half his time crammed in Yeonjun's cubicle. Having to share the same space as Beomgyu wasn't going to
cut it. The man had already denied him entrance in his office.

It was time for a change for Taehyun.

+ × +

The desk was fitting, dusty and filled with cobwebs but would do the job just right. Chaewon stood to his side, eyeing him waiting for an answer. The desk was sitting in the storage room, unattended.

Taehyun tested its sturdiness, getting his hands dirty in the process. "Is this the only one?" he asked, dusting his hands off.

Chaewon tossed her hair over her shoulders. Shifting her weight from one leg to the next. She was much shorter than Taehyun, finely dressed in a black skirt and a white top with black polka dots.

Taehyun noticed how she would switch from comfortable around him to uncomfortable in mere seconds.

"That's the only one."

Taehyun looked at the desk and chair before looking at Chaewon with concerned eyes. "Am I making you uncomfortable?"

She waved her hands dismissively, giving Taehyun the most assuring smile she could muster up. "You're not making me uncomfortable at all." she looked around the
room, looking somewhere other than Taehyun. "I'm just making a big deal about nothing."

Taehyun knitted his brows. "Does it have anything to do with Mr. Choi?" Taehyun said the last word as if it was something bitter in his mouth. Never once had he called Beomgyu, Mr.
Choi. It Made him sound as if he had finally accepted him as his boss. "Or with me personally?"

If Taehyun was the source of her discomfort then he would leave and ask someone else for help. He had no intention of making her feel uncomfortable with his presence.

"No it's not, just...." she paused, selecting her words wisely. "Someone else- something else."

The sudden developmet made Taehyun curious. Bracing himself on a storage closet. He crossed his arms and said "Care to enlighten me?"

Chaewon looked around yet again. Opening and closing her mouth, deciding if it was the right idea to tell Taehyun. "I shouldn't..."

He uncrossed his arms. "I won't tell a soul. Just me and you here, no one else. If your concerned about Beom-" Taehyun stopped himself before calling her boss formally. "I mean Mr. Choi." he could never get use to calling him that.

"The last assistant he had things went badly" Chaewon said, almost in a whisper.

"What happened?" Taehyun could imagine how Beomgyu pushed the poor person to the edge.
Chaewon sighed, steadying herself for the release of previous ninth floor drama. "She left about two years ago." Taehyun was surprised how far the story went back. "Everyone
knew her and in many ways than one" Taehyun knew exactly where Chaewon was getting at. Not saying anything he let her continued.

"It was evident to the whole floor that she had a thing for Mr. Choi, heck she made it obvious to the whole floor." Chaewon settled herself, getting comfortable with telling the
tale. "No one knew if the CEO was interested or not but she went for the gold anyways." Taehyun couldn't imagine someone chasing after the Brainless CEO, she must've been
quite the girl.

"The thing was," Chaewon pointed a finger at
him. "She wasn't just interested in the CEO..."
There it was, there was no way anyone would blindly chase Beomgyu. "Mr. Choi would often come out of his office asking for her. Luckily did he know she was hiding off somewhere with one of his employees..." Taehyun ran a hand over his face.

The ninth floor was pumping on drama while he was down on the fifth floor with little to no excitement. Taehyun wasn't one for office drama but a little spark in his day to day life wouldn't hurt anyone now would it?

"When he found out, it was like hell on the ninth floor," Chaewon shuddered at the memory. "It was the angriest we've seen him. Fired her right on the spot. A week later, she came back claiming Beomgyu was the father of her unborn
child and demanding money." She rolled her eyes. "Which was stupid because they didn't have sex in the first place." Taehyun didn't question how she knew that and continued to listen. "Hell found its way back on the ninth
floor."

Taehyun adjusted his tie, understanding everything now. "So me and you being in here alone might spark some uncanny rumors" he has heard the rumors as to why he
didn't have any assistant in an awfully long time. From his aggressiveness to his self-centered behaviour. The truth was entirely different.

Before Chaewon could utter a word, noise outside the door caught their attention. Taehyun looked at her as if she held all the answers. Unlocking the doors of the storage room, Taehyun saw Beomggu furiously opening his office door. Taehyun chuckled to himself.

Beomgyu actually arrived earlier than he thought. The latter turned to see Taehyun, staring in his eyes that stared fondly at his distress. Barging into his own office he barge
right out in seconds. "You." he pointed at Taehyun, steam emitting from his ears.

"Me?" Taehyun said innocently. "Do you need something Mr. Choi?" a mischievous smile on his lips.

"This morning.." Beomgyu stopped, looking around to see numerous employees looking his way. He would just have to behead Miller later. "What are you doing?" He looked at Chaewon.

"What does it look like?" Taehyun turned to a flustered Chaewon. "Getting assistance from Ms. Kim here." She gave a nervous smile.

"My office, now." Beomgyu ordered, walking away from Taehyun.

"No." Taehyun crossed his arms. "Not right now at least."

Beomgyu turned on his heels, annoyed by the smug on Taehyun's face. "Taehyun-"

Taehyun cut him off with a wave of dismissal. "I forgot-" he looked at his watch. "You got here earlier than I expected. 8 minutes earlier."

Beomgyu gritted his teeth from anger. Today was going to be awfully long

+ × +
