~Chapter VIII:The "Date"?~

"Oh, um, i was wondering if you wanted to hangout tomorrow?"
"That would be Lovely Pony!"

I woke up and rinsed off so that way i could feel energized and clean before i go to see Pony
Once i got out i walked down to the phone and called pony real fast in my towel with my hair wrapped in a towel too
RIIIIIING
RIIII-
*click*
"Hello?"
"Hi Pony! What time are we hanging out!"
"Does 1 sound good so we can have the whole day together?"
Awee, that's cute!
"Yeah! sounds perfect." It was 10:23 right now so i had a perfect amount of time to get ready
"Okay, cya then"
"Bye Pony,"
*click*
I ran upstairs to do my hair and pick an outfit. i decided to put my hair into french braids with a few pieces hanging out. i put a red bandanna in my hair again
I decided on a cute red plaid top and my white jeans. I decided to wear my star sunglasses too since they're cool. i also grabbed my cute lil purse for looks.
And last of all, my white converse.
I put everything on and looked at myself.
Damn.. i look goooood!!
I walked out to the Living room to show Dally my outfit.
He was sitting on the couch drinking a beer.. at 12:45 in the afternoon..? Anyways..
"Woah little lady, Where're you goin?" he questioned
"To hangout with Pony to the library.. remember?"
"Oh right.. but your wearing that?"
I looked at myself
"Um.. Yeah? is there something wrong with it? ..Do i not look good?" i started backing up towards the stairs putting the sunglasses on my forehead
"Oh no no, You look fabulous, just a little... showy, huh?"
"Yeah, well i like it. So, i'm going now"
i said walking to the door.
"Bye Dals!" i called walking out the door
"Bye Valerie! Have fun!! Remember what i said, No funny buisness!!" he screamed as i closed the door.
I rolled my eyes and walked over to Pony's. i didn't exactly know what the deal was so i was just gonna meet him there.
I put my sunglasses back on my face and walked in making my presence known
"GEUSS WHO'S HERE!!" I screamed flinging the door open and strutting in like a model
Soda was walking around buttoning his shirt, steve was sitting on the couch waiting for him, Two was on the ground in front of the tv.
Darry was in the kitchen leaning on the counter reading the paper and sipping coffee in his mug.
"Oh hey Valerie!! Ya look great! love the sunglasses" "CMON STEVE!!" soda said and he ran past me out the door.
"Pony's been waitin' for ya all mornin. He's nervous!" Steve whispered walking out the door to me.
I walked over to the kitchen to Darry and he finally noticed me. Even after my grand entrance.
"Oh hey Val, Pony's almost done gettin ready. He's upstairs if u wanna see him"
i nodded and walked to his room.
i opened the door and i saw him putting on cologne
"Oh my gosh Pony.." i said flipping my sunglasses on the top of my head and putting my hand on my hip "are ya ready princess?" i said sarcastically
"Ready than ever!" he said walking out of his room grabbing my hand and pulling me with him downstairs
"Darry! Me and Val are going now, We'll be back" he said and we walked out not waiting for Darry's answer.
We started walking and he still didn't let go of my hand.
i didnt know if this was a normal thing for girls to do with their guy friends so i went along with it.
I wasn't complaining obviously...
"Y'know i thought orange looked good on you.. reds even better" he said smiling to me
i literally turned red because he said that.
"Awee, look now your face is red too!" he said chuckling
"Awh man stoppp" i said lifting my hands to cover my face.
I remembered i had my sunglasses, so i put them on to cover some redness
We were almost to the library when he took my hand again
"Can i see those?" he said pointing to my sunglasses
"Yeah! Of course" i said taking them off.
he put his hand out to take them but i waved it off
"I wanna put them on you." we were at the front of the library so we stopped and i put them on him
"Jeeze Vally, almost poked my eye out." he said adjusting them
"Be lucky i didn't!" i giggled
He striked a pose
"How do i look?" he said making various model poses
"oh just fabulous darling.." i said with an accent
We both laughed and he took them off and put them back on me
He opened the door for me and i walked in "Why thank you! Such a gentleman" i said exaggerating, but i wasn't kidding, he was being a gentleman.
"So my plan was, we could read together, or we both read the same book and review after each chapter" he said
"It doesn't matter to me, we could do both!
"Okay sounds good."
i was looking around the library. The library back in New York was super tiny with a max of about 20 shelves.
But here.. the library had 2 whole stories...
"This place is huge Pony!" i said looking around
"Yeah, i've got the perfect place for us to read! cmere" and then he started running up the stairs
"Slow down Pony! How are you so speedy?!"
"I'm in Track,"
"Ohh, Makes sense" i giggled
Once we got up he took my hand and he took me to the romance section.
He didnt strike me as the romantic type..
"Pick a book ya like" he said smiling
i smiled and scanned the shelves. I found an interesting one.
It had a green cover and was called "Love is Blind" but it was way out of reach.
I got on my tippy toes and tried to reach for it. I refused to ask for help so i started hopping to try and get it.
i stopped and i turned around to hearing chuckling
"Can i have some help here?" i said turning back around and reaching again.
"what book?"
"The green ones. Love is Blind"
Then he did something unexpected..
He grabbed my waist and lifted me in the air to get it.
He strong hands held firmly against my waist and i couldn't help but turn red
i grabbed two of em' and he lowered me back down
"Thanks.. Pony" i said looking at the books trying to cover my face
"No problem, now let's go" i looked up and he grabbed my hand and i walked with him
There was a cute little table with a couch facing the book shelves
(this is what it looked like)
"This is perfect Pony!" said jumping onto the couch
"I know right? It's the best because it's away from everyone and you can see right out of the window." he smiled
He came and sat down all the way down the couch.
"Cmere Pony, i'm gonna be lonely over here." i said patting directly next to me
He slide over and put his arm around my shoulders
i liked that.
I handed him a book and he started reading the back and so did i.
once he was done he looked at me. i finished shortly after
"You don't strike me as the person to read romantic books, Pony" i said looking him in the eye. His eyes were gorgeous.. i could get lost in those.
"It's cuz i'm a boy, isn't it." he said looking down at the book
"No, you just don't seem the type"
"yeah, i get it. I'm a sucker for this stuff though" he chuckled and smiled at me
"So, do you want me to read to you or do you want to read" Pony said
"I want you to read, your voice is calming and comforting" i said smiling
he turned pink a bit and he opened his book
3 chapters later...
I was snuggled into his chest while he read to me and i followed along in the book
"I think we should stop there. I have some other stuff planned for us." he said as he closed his book
"Oh! That's fun" i said smiling.
i closed my book and got up and so did he
"Race ya!" i said running to the stairs and rushing down.
He was too fast though because he sped right past me to the librarian.
i ran up to him and stopped next to him in front of the librarian
"Hi Mrs. michelle!" he said taking my book and handing it to her
"Hi Ponyboy, Ya finally got yourself a girlfriend to read with?" she said motioning to me
I blushed a bit
"Oh no, we're just friends mrs." i said looking to him
"Yeah, for now" she said and chuckled
Now pony blushed some too.
"Anyways, could ya put those behind the counter for us? We'll be back soon. Thank you Mrs. Michelle"
And with that, we started walking to the door
"No problem Pony, have fun on your date! i know your on one!"
we both laughed and walked out
"Where are we going now?"
"You'll see!!" he said basically bouncing. He was clearly excited.
We were walking for a bit when we got to a good looking diner. it was around 2:00 so i geuss we were getting lunch
"Wow pony, this place looks expensive.." i said giving him a doubtful look
"Don't worry about it, it's our day anyways!" he said hugging me
I hugged him back, he smelled like cigarettes and cologne.. i loved it.
he let go and we walked in holding hands
Some waitress spotted pony, i geuss she knew him..
"Oh my gosh, Why isn't it Sodapops kid brother, hm?" she said smiling to him
"Oh! Are ya on a date?!" She said wiggling her eyebrows
"Uh.. no, just.. friends" he chuckled lowly.
"I mean, unless you want it to be a date.." he said looking at me
"Could i say no?" i said smiling and blushing
"Awe! You to lovebirds follow me!!" She said leading us to a booth
"What can i get started for ya?" she said looking at me ready to write.
"Could i have a coke, please?" i said sweetly
"Same here." pony replied
"Alrighty! i'll be right out with those cokes." and she set menus on the table
"What are ya gonna get?" i asked as i looked through
"I'm gonna get Mac&cheese, what about you?"
"I was gonna say the same thing!" i said giggling
"Good taste!" he said chuckling
She came with out cokes and we ordered, then she left to get our food
"I wonder what Everyone is doing right now.."
"Oh um.. no clue!" he said nervously... suspicious.
The food was taking what felt like forever...
