It was currently a feast inside the palace. "Is something the matter, (Y/N)..?" Her bright fierce eyes are now replaced with softness as it soon meets mine and I love that her deep feelings for me can ve transmitted without any words needed.
"After the feast, Why not rest in your chamber? I know you still have matters to attend and work to do but I believe that you need to properly rest, my dear.." I frown as I gently squeeze her hand which in turn she also squeezed my hand.
"This.. Um.. Although yes I do need rest but the matters and trouble with the state aren't still yet solved. That is undeniably true but even then, An empress is still a human.. Humans need basic rest to function through the day..
I quietly sigh as I know that I cant convince Hikari to rest and sleep because she can be rather stubborn when it comes to court matters.
I raise my gaze and accidentally met General Kata's grey eyes then she waved at me which I also responded with a polite small bow but then she unexpectedly starts making way towards me.
I look over to Hikari and find that she's currently talking to one of her court officials so I looks back at General Kata who's already infront of me "Good evening General and also, Congratulations with your victory." I greeted her and she kneeled infront of me then I was taken back when she suddenly took my hand then placed a small kiss on it.
"Thank you very much for your kind words, M'lady." She smiled at me and I swear she looked 10× more handsome than before. Not wanting to lose my composure infront of everyone, I smiled politely at her and took back my hands wordlessly.
"Pushing the formalities outside, May I ask what's your business with me, General?" I meet her grey eyes again and I find myself surprised as I saw determination in them, as If she's preparing to say something so crucial.
"Oh..! Yes, Right. May I request to meet your majesty after the feast..?" She said in a low voice that only I could hear and it's understandable why she's being so sneaky about it. A general asking for secret meeting in the night would be consider as blasphemy as I am a married woman, Not only that but I am married to the ruler of the whole country. There are many eyes that are going to observe me and criticize every movement of mine just because I'm the only wife of Hikari.
Even so, I cannot ignore her request, Meeting her secretly wouldn't hurt anyone "I don't mind, Meet me by my courtyard and please, Don't let anyone see you."
She nodded obediently and went back to talking with people and I sighed then looked down on the hands on my lap..
Although I already have a foreboding feeling what we're both going to talk about, I cant help but feel a bit sorry that I can't respond to her feelings with the same emotions.
I love Hikari, although both of us had a interesting start but it doesn't change the fact that Hikari is treating me way off better than we did at the start. I love everything about Hikari, The way her eyes look at me with full on love, The way she only smiles at me but is an absolutely cold empress at others and I love it the most when she wrap me around her arms softly.
3rd POV
Although (Y/N) wasn't aware, Hikari was watching her and Kata whisper to each other which in result made her feel a bit unpleasant inside. Like her heart squeezing and suffocating in a bad way, She's aware that (Y/N) loves her and she also loves her but there will always be some kind of what if scenario in her head.
Sighing, Hikari looked away and tried to not let it get too much to her. She trust (Y/N).

The feast soon ended and Hikari had to part ways with her beloved unfortunately but she didn't forget to place a soft kiss on her love's lips and departing back to her office.
(Y/N) on the other hand was soon escorted by her guards and maids to her own palace but as soon as they arrived, She ordered them to go back to their quarters and rest early. Some protested against this but she made her position clear as the Superior to them and they had no choice but to go back and rest.
She went to her room to change into more comfortable clothes and walked to her courtyard then looked over to the bright luminous moon over the sky. The stars shined brightly and the moonlight acted as like her stage light, She continued to gaze upon the moon when suddenly footsteps could be heard and she turned around to meet the grey eyes of General Kata Ronover.
"A pleasant evening, m'lady." She greeted and was about to take (Y/N)'s hand to kiss it once again but (Y/N) placed her hands behind her and looked at Kata with expectancy evident in her (E/C) eyes.
"A pleasant evening to you too, Kata." (Y/N) called her casually as both were just alone and they didn't really had to put up with the formalities, They both knew that they didn't have to be so formal with each other when alone "It's already so late in the evening so I'd like to get this over with quickly."
Even though Hikari loves (Y/N) dearly, There isn't a doubt that she's willing to keep her wife's safety to high regard so she must be probably being watched over by the Royal Family's loyal Shadow Guards. Basically, Hikari's hidden dogs and sword that's kept from the public, They're an elite squad of powerful assassins that watch over the state of the palace. They're Hikari's eyes and ears when she's not looking.
"Oh yes right.. Well.." Kata placed a hand on the back of her neck gathering the courage to say whatever it is to (Y/N). Yes,she does know she has to make it quick or things will be risky between them but confessing isn't such an easy thing to do, even so, Kata took a deep breathe in "(Y/N), I....—"
||Over to Hikari's Situation||
Hikari tried to finish her work as fast as possible as she wanted to visit her beloved's palace tonight and spend some time together. So she exited her office and as she left, A presence was felt behind her and it was a presence she was very familiar with. She turned around to meet the shadow guard leader's emerald eyes.
"Yi, It's rare for you to come out of your rat hole.. More so to meet me.. Did something grave happen?" Hikari crossed her arms and watch the Shadow Guard Yi remove her mask.
"Oh nothing much,Empress." Yi replied casually as if she wasn't talking to the Empress herself "But you know~ I'm not one to break trusts and plant doubts in every partner in relationships but you should hurry on to your lovey's courtyard. You might see something interesting or something~" As soon Yi finished her words, She disappeared from her Master's sight,as if she was just a piece of imagination.
Hikari was confused by Yi's words but didn't ask a question as she already find herself storming over (Y/N)'s palace, She didn't find a single servant around which was odd but even so she made her way to the courtyard.
Hikari's heart was beating, If Yi was the one basically coming to meet and tell her about some kind of event, It may be grave. Adding to the fact it relates to (Y/N)'s matter, Her legs soon delivered her to her destination and she sees two figures intertwined in a embrace almost like lovers.
It was (Y/N) and Kata.
Both were hugging so intimately,atleast in her eyes and perspective. Her heart twisted and contorted in so much pain but she didn't want to lose her trust on (Y/N) without hearing her side..

(Y/N)'s POV
Kata soon let go of me and I smiled as I looked at her pathetic crying face like a child. Chuckling a little, I stroke her head as if to comfort her.
"You'll find someone better—....!!!!" My eyes soon widen as I find the Empress standing over there with a expression I can't fathom, Her eyes dull of emotion and her expression cold as a never ending blizzard.
I didn't know when she arrived but she must have misunderstood something, I wanted to call out to her but she slowly made her way over to me and Kata. Of course due to Kata's sharp ears she soon heard Hikari walking over and her eyes have widened so much to the point it wouldn't be an exaggeration that her eyeballs would fall out from its container.
"Hikari? What are you doing here? I thought you wouldn't be able to visit till tomorrow since you have so much work." I inquired and that may came out a bit wrong as her expression seemed to darken more than before.

"Please— Empress! If you're going to be mad at someone,let it be me instead. (Y/N) didn't do no wrong! I'm the one who should be punished as I confessed to her. What you probably saw was just her comforting me!" Kata reasoned out and stood infront of me as if to protect me to Hikari but.. her expression turned darker more so.
"Huh.. So the snake finally went out of its den to coil itself around my wife desperately.." Hikari soon scoffed and clutched both of Kata's collar shirt "Know your fucking place,General. Not only are you dangering your reputation but also my wife's! What do you think would've happened if someone saw you two huh?! You were risking my wife's reputation and life so keep your bullshit feelings to yourself or I'll be the one to force it down your fucking throat for you to shut the fuck up—" She then threw the poor General on the ground and huffed.
I've..never seen Hikari so mad before.. Not that she doesn't act like this but its more of a situation where she doesn't show me this side of her. I know she tends to be like this when pissed off of court but I usually don't attend court matters so I didn't really had a clue. Just rumors from the servants thats all.
My hand trembled a bit in fear but nevertheless, I walked over to my love and held her hand while she continues to huff silently "Hikari..Please calm down. I understand your anger and worry for me but please, This isn't the way to solve things." I rubbed my thumb over her shaking fist and she looked at me with a wide mouth almost as if she was also going to yell at me.
But..she didn't.
Hikari will never ever try to hurt me ever nor raise her voice at me, She's far too soft on me and I'm aware of that fact.
