Jordan's pov
It is Tuesday the 2nd of March around 7:30am and tomorrow I have something planned for Leah. Now it's not what you're thinking. Unfortunately Leah has recently been pretty unwell she's been in so much pain specifically in her lower back and pelvis she's also been saying she's been in excruciating pain in her lower stomach. I've been nagging her for weeks to go and get it seen to as I'm really worried about her and it isn't the first time it's happened I'm worried if she doesn't get it checked out it could become worse and I might lose her and that.. well that really scares me.
Day later around 7:30
Jordan's pov
Today is the day of Leah's appointment and I woke up early so I could cancel her alarm and so I could ring Jonas to tell him the situation we're in with Leah. Jonas told me that he had no clue anything was happening with Leah and if there was anything wrong he was going to be upset with her for hiding her illness. Last night I searched up some of her symptoms which I know I shouldn't have done but I'm starting to think it's pancreatitis (a infection of the pancreas) or a liver infection I do feel bad for her having to have medical care instead of doing what she loves (playing football) but I'm worried if it's left untreated it'll get worse.
Leah's pov
I wake up once again in excruciating pain and reach over to grab my phone, I look at the time and see it's 9:30! I virtually jump out of bed i sprint downstairs still in agony and see Jordan is still here.
Pov Leah and Jordan conversation
L: JORDS WERE LATE!!
J: Lea calm down. I've told Jonas we're not going in today.
L: what?! Why?!
J: first off: you're the only member of the team that's been training over time and you need a break, secondly: I've booked you a doctors appointment to get you checked out
L: but I'm fine Jordan
J: we both know you've been in pain for weeks Leah! I'm worried that if you don't get it checked out I'll lose you forever, Leah you're my best friend. My soulmate and the thought of losing you scares me. Please get this checked out, or at least do it for me.
L: JORDS YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHY IVE NOT HAD IT SEEN TO!!
J: well why's that?
*Leah sighs*
L: I'm worried that if it's something bad I won't be able to play football again
J: LEAH! IS THAT SERIOUSLY ALL YOU CARE ABOUT?! AT THE MOMENT YOUR HEALTH MATTERS MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE AND YOU NEED TO BE SEEN TO!
L: fine. But you're coming with me
A few hours later
Doctor: ok Mrs Leah Williamson-Nobbs
*Leah looks at Jordan*
J: get used to it as that'll be your last name one day
*she whispers before getting up and walking to the examination room with leah*
Doctor: sorry friends aren't welcome in the examination room
J: sorry you must be mistaken we're married not friends
Doctor: I'll see if someone else can see to you two
J: what? Why can't you just see her? You are properly qualified aren't you?
Doctor: well yes but I don't feel comfortable working on... well you understand
J: What the hell do you mean?! You wouldn't refuse treatment to anyone else but you refuse treatment to my wife because she's gay
Doctor: yes exactly
J: that's fucking ridiculous, come on Lea let's take you somewhere else with better doctors
L: thanks Jordy
*said grabbing her hand*
Back in the car
L: jordy where are we going to go now
J: I know it'll take longer but I think we'll have to go to the hospital sweetheart
L: ok
*said reluctantly*
*Jordan puts her hand on top of leahs*
J: it'll be okay Lea I'm here with you
*looks up at Leah who is hanging her head clearly very nervous*
J: if it makes you feel any better you can choose what music we listen to
*leah lifts her head smiles ever so slightly*
L: play Cornelia Street by Taylor Swift
*Jordan giggles*
J: I knew you'd choose Taylor Swift you're obsessed Lea!
L: I'm not that obsessed
*Jordan mutters*
J: just wait until you birthday
About 15 minutes into the drive
L: Jordy.. I've got to ask why earlier did you say that I was your wife when I'm not?
J: because someday I know that you will be my wife and we'll end up with a little family
L: wait are you serious?
*said a bit surprised*
J: of course I'm serious Leah I love you
L: the only thing is... wait what?
J: I.. I love you Leah
L: you do?
J: I do I really really do Leah
L: but I'm so fussy and annoying, I can't cook or drive, I steal all the duvet in bed (I'm guilty of this 😂) I get scared of the smallest things, I complain a lot
J: yes all those things are annoying to some people but to me they're what makes you perfect Leah
*leah smiles*
After a 6 1/2 hour wait at the hospital
doctor: ok Miss Williamson the results show that you don't have pancreatitis I would also like to run a few blood tests just to make sure it's not a liver or kidney infection if that is ok.
L: ok.. is my girlfriend allowed to stay with me
Doctor: yes she sure is
After the blood test is taken
doctor: ok miss Williamson the results of your blood test have shown you don't have a kidney or liver infection
*Jordan smiles at the fact Leah's not seriously ill* doctor: there's one more condition that may be causing you this pain. The condition is endometriosis and it's very common for women to have. I'd like for you to have a small procedure called a laparoscopy. This procedure involves you being put under general anaesthetic and during surgery the surgeon will make a small incision in your stomach and then insert a small tube with a light attached to examine the tissue surrounding your uterus the procedure will take approximately half an hour to an hour and the recovery process is less than a week. Now I know your a footballer and having endometriosis doesn't mean you're career will end but it means you'll have to be very cautious about your menstrual cycle with this condition as having the condition can make athletes prone to suffering injuries such as ACLs and broken bones.
L: ok is there anything I'd need to be concerned about for my future outside of football?
doctor: well having endometriosis can lead to infertility issues in the future and it can also cause quite a bit of pain which can be managed with medication but otherwise it won't affect your life very much.
*Leah looks at Jordan just after the doctor mentions the infertility issues*
L: when you say infertility issues does that then mean I won't be able to have children
*said with tears in her eyes*
Doctor: it doesn't necessarily mean you can't have children it just means it'll be quite difficult for you to have children.
About an hour later back at the apartment
Jordan's pov
The drive home was very... awkward, I've known for ages that Leah's top dreams are to captain England to win a major tournament and to have a baby and now her hearing she may not be able to have kids...I know it has shattered her heart into pieces.
*hears a knock at the door*
*answers the door*
Pov Viv Beth and Jordan Conversation
Beth: hey Jordy me and Viv brought you and Leah some food as I knew you wouldn't want to cook anything
*jordan sighs*
J: hi Beth, hey Viv come in
Viv: where's Leah
J: upstairs crying in bed
V&B: WHAT HAPPENED?
J: the doctors have told her they think she has endometriosis which means she might not be able to have kids and we both know already I can't have kids. But bless her she's absolutely sobbing her eyes out because of it and I feel like it's all my fault
B: aww my poor girl. can I go talk to her?
J: go ahead
Pov Beth and Leah conversation
*knocks on the bedroom door*
B: lea it's Beth can I come in
*through sobs*
L: Yes
*Beth walks in and immediately starts comforting Leah*
About half an hour later
B: you know Leah if the worst comes to the worse I'm willing to be a surrogate for you and Jordan to become a family
L: no Beth you don't have to
B: Leah trust me if it means I'd get to see my best friends become parents to the luckiest kid alive I would do anything.
A few hours later after beth and Viv have left
Pov Leah and Jordan conversation
L: Jordy can I tell you something
J: what is it Lea
L: earlier when Beth was talking to me she offered to be a surrogate for us if I do end up having endometriosis and we struggle to conceive.
J: what did you say to that
L: I basically just said that she didn't have to
J: and...
*Leah starts crying happy tears*
L: she said that if it means she'd get to see us be parents she'd do anything for us
About a month later (results day)
Leah's pov
Today is the day. Today we find out if I do have endometriosis and I'm.. I'm absolutely petrified being a parent has been my dream since i was 5 I'd always imagined I'd have a husband and a little boy called billy, sorry 5 year old Leah but the husband part won't come true anytime soon and the name billy i believe the opinions on that name have changed now. But I haven't stopped thinking about Beth's offer to be our surrogate it would make mine and Jordan's dream come true but I suppose we're not even married yet so we'll think about that when it comes to it.
At the appointment
Pov Leah and doctor conversation
D: ok so miss Williamson you're results show you don't have endometriosis and the cause of your illness was a type of pre menstrual tension which was occurring in the fallopian tubes instead of the tissue surrounding the uterus and you'll be glad to know it doesn't effect your chances of pregnancy and shouldn't happen again
L: wow that's amazing um thank you for all your help me and my partner we really appreciate it
On the way home
Pov Jordan and Leah phone call
L: Jordy guess what!!
J: what Lea
L: she says I don't have endometriosis and i now don't have anything affecting my chances of having a baby
J: aww Lea you don't know how happy that makes me now get yourself better we've got a date tonight!
