Night was upon, which scared me even more. Dean was finishing up drawing some figures in the dirt, things that would keep us safe. Hailey and Ben sat by the fire, Sam by a tree stump, and me in the dirt, a bit farther away.

"One more time, that's...?" Hailey asked Dean, about the figures in the dirt

"Anasazi symbols, its for protection, "Dean explained, finishing up. "The wendigo can't cross over them."

    Roy laughed from behind us.

"Nobody likes a skeptic, Roy," Dean argued, not even looking up at him.

"Or an idiot," I mumbled under my breath. I saw Dean walking towards me from the corner of my eye.

"How you holding up, Cheyenne," He questioned kneeling beside me. I sighed, and shook my head.

"If I said I was okay, would you believe me," I asked, looking up at him. He gave me the "hell no" look. "Then not so great." I answered.

"I was just thinking," I began to explain. "Do you think dad will be happy to see me when we find him?" I asked, not meeting Deans eyes.

"What do you mean?" Dean questioned.

"I mean, dad never liked when I went on hunts, ya know, he thought I was not good enough," I poured out. "He kept me locked in motels while you guys left and he never trained me and..." before I could continue my rambling, Dean interrupted me.

"Hey, first of all, you are a good hunter, just like me and Sam," He started. When I didn't look up, he gently pulled my chin to face him. "Second, dad does care about you, he just shows it differently, okay." I nodded, but still didn't know if I believed him.

"It's just, the things he did..." I started to explain, but quickly shut my mouth. Dean got concerned.

"Cheyenne, what is it?" He asked, making me look in his eyes. "What "things" did he do?"

"Nothing, it's not that big of deal," I quickly changed the subject. "Maybe we should talk to Sam." Dean looked over and saw Sam deep in thought.

"Fine, but this conversation is not over." He stood up and went to talk things over with Sam. I stayed where I was, scared that I almost gave away a huge secret. Something dad told me never to speak of.  Dean sat with Sam for a while, I could tell it was the "family business" speech.

This quiet time was interrupted by yet another voice yelling out help. I stood up and ran to get behind Dean and Sam. Everyone stood in a circle, looking around the forest.

"It's trying to draw us out, everyone stay cool, stay put," Dean explained.

"inside the magic circle," Roy teased. If I hadn't been scared, I would have smacked him. Instead I grabbed on to Deans jacket. "Dean?" I whispered.

"We're good, okay, just take deep breaths," Dean told me quietly, not needing me to panic.

There was a rustling in the bushes to our right. Everyone turned in that direction and backed up.

"Okay, thats no grizzly," Roy admitted, holding his gun out. Now he believes us, of course. We all continued to look around. I heard Hailey tell Ben it would be okay. This made me hold on to Dean tighter. Suddenly, there was another growl, closer this time. Dean whipped around and fell on my but behind him.

Roy shot at it, earning a pained sound from the creature. "I hit it!" he exclaimed, chasing it out of the circle and into the woods.

"Roy, no!" Dean yelled and chased after him. Not wanting to be without my brothers, I followed, but quickly fell behind. I heard another growl and Roy scream before silence.

Dean called out for him, but knew Roy was long gone. I walked quietly around, looking for my brothers. I began to panic, but remembered what Dean told me about deep breaths. I didn't want to shout, not wanting to attract the monster again.

A few minutes later, I heard voices calling my name

"Dean,"  I called back. "Sam." A rustle came from beside me and I screamed, but calmed when I saw Dean walking towards me.

"Cheyenne, thank god," He pulled me into a hug. I couldn't help but start crying. "Hey, hey, its okay, were good," He whispered into my ear, kissing my temple. I heard Sam walk up to us and wrap his hands around my back.

I couldn't wait to get out of this forest.

The next morning, Dean had explained everything to Hailey and Ben.

"I don't get it, these things, they aren't supposed to be real," Hailey stated. Ben sat next to her.

"Believe me, we wish we could tell you different," I spoke up, from beside Sam, who was looking at dads journal again.

"How do we know it isn't out there now, watching us?" Hailey questioned, as Dean crouched next to her.

"We don't, but we're safe for now," Dean explained.

"How do you know about this stuff," Hailey asked him. Dean looked up for a minute in silence.

"It kinda runs in the family," He told her, looking over at me and Sam. Sam stood up and put the journal away,

"So, we've got half a chance in the daylight," he began, "and I , for one, want to kill this evil son of a bitch."

"I second that," I voiced, standing up. Dean came next to me and put his arm around my shoulders.

"Well, hell, you know I'm in," He stated, looking back at Sam.

I stood back and listened as Sam and Dean told Hailey and Ben what a wendigo was. It was basically a human, who was so hungry it ate another human, slowly turning into a monster year by year.

"Okay, so if it needs to feed, how do we know Tommy is alive?" Hailey questioned. Dean and Sam exchanged a look, meaning that the answer wasn't great.

'You aren't gonna like it," Dean warned. Hailey shook her head and asked him to tell her.

"More than anything, a wendigo knows how to last long winters without food, and hibernates for years at a time." Dean began to explain, "When it is awake, it keeps victims alive, and stores them, so it can feed whenever it wants, so... if your brothers alive, its keeping him somewhere dark, hidden, and safe."

"Okay, then, how do we stop it?" she asked, not liking the answer she got.

"Well, guns are useless, so are knives," Dean began. I walked over to him, with supplies to make a bomb of sorts.

"Which means, we torch him," I finished.

We walked in the direction of the wendigo, keeping our eyes peeled and fire devices at the ready. Sam called Dean over to where we were standing.

There were trees all over, with bloody scratches marking them. "You know, I was thinking those claw marks, so clear and distinct, "He laughed, "almost too easy to follow."

We were all looking at the marks when we heard growling and trees above us rustling. As I stood by a tree, I felt a wetness hit my jacket. I glanced down at my shoulder to see a red liquid running down my sleeve. Against my better judgement, I looked up and immediately regretted it, seeing Roy dead.

"AHHHHH!" I shrieked, catching everyones attention. I managed to fall out of the way, before Roy fell down beside me. Dean ran over to help me up, while Sam felt Roys neck

"Hey, you good," Dean asked, pulling me up to stand. I nodded and stared at Roy's dead body. Dean pushed my chin to face him. "Don't look, okay."

"Guys, we need to run, run, now!" Sam shouted at us. Dean, Hailey, and i went off in one direction and Sam and Ben in the other.

We jumped over trees and past bushes, but Dean stopped short as we ran into the wendigo. I screamed before everything went black

"Cheyenne....wake....come on," I heard a whisper of voices calling out to me. I forced my eyes to open, taking a gasping breath when I did. I realized I was hanging from my hands.

"Hey, come on, there we go sweetheart," I now made out Deans voice and my vision cleared to where I could see him standing in front of me. "You okay," He asked. I looked over and saw Sam behind him. Along with Ben and Hailey who had also been tied up.

Sam used his knife to cut me down and Dean caught me. He helped me walk a few feet to where I could sit. I groaned when I did.

"Cheyenne, hey, look at me," Dean demanded and I did my best to meet his eyes. "Are you okay?"

I nodded. "Ya, I'll be good," I said. Dean ran his thumb over my cheek. He kissed my head and went over to a pack of stuff. Sam got in front of me.

I looked over and saw a new boy, also pretty banged up laying next to Hailey. "Is that Tommy?" I asked Sam.

"Ya, he'll be fine too," Sam explained, running a hand through my hair. I smilied.

"Check it out," Dean spoke up.  We looked over to see him holding flare guns.

    "Those will work," Sam stated.

Sam helped me up and Hailey got Tommy up, and the six of us made our way through the tunnels. This must have been one of those abandoned mines. We stopped when we heard the growling again.

"Looks like someones home for supper," Dean spoke up.

"We'll never outrun it," Hailey remarked. I agreed, based on what had happened earlier. Dean looked at Sam.

"You thinking what I'm thinking," he asked.

    "I think so," Sam guessed.

Dean turned to all of us. "Alright, stay with Sam, he's gonna get you out," Dean told us.

"Dean, you can't go alone," I argued, holding myself up a bit more. Dean looked at me.

"Don't worry, we got this," he said, before running down the other tunnel yelling for the wendigo to come and get him.

Sam quickly led us towards the exit. We were almost there when the growling got closer. Sam looked over at us,

"You guys, keep going," He told us turning back into the tunnel.

    "Sam," I began to argue.

"Cheyenne, go with them please," Sam begged. I sighed, but continued down the tunnel, leaving both my brothers on their own.  We heard the wendigo scream and a gunshot, that must have missed him.

Sam suddenly appeared back with us. "Come on, let's go, now, move, move!" He ushered us faster as the wendigo got closer to us. I looked back to see the wendigo right behind us.

"Ahh!" I screamed, trying to run faster, but also keep everyone else safe. We came upon a dead end.  "Sam, now what?" I asked, trying to stay calm.

"Everyone get behind me," Sam pushed us so we were behind him. The wendigo got closer and closer and I had no idea how we would get out.

"Hey!" Dean yelled from behind the wendigo. He shot the flare gun straight into the monsters stomach. It erupted into flames and the wendigo slowly died.  I walked back in front of Sam.

"Not bad, huh?" Dean inquired. Instead of answering him, I ran up and threw my hands around him.

"We're okay, it's all good," He said, holding on to me tightly.

Now we were out of the cave, the Ranger station was surrounded by ambulance's and cop cars. Sam and Ben were telling the cops about the huge "bear" that attacked us. I jumped out of the back of an ambulance, thanking the man for bandaging up my cuts. I made my way over to Dean.

"Hey, you all good," Dean asked holding an arm out. I stood next to him and he pulled me closer to him.

"Yep, a few cuts, but I think i'll live," I rested my head on his shoulder. I looked over and saw Hailey coming towards us.

I decided to give them space and walked over to Sam and Ben. I happened to look over and see Hailey kiss Deans cheek.

After a minute the three of us headed over there as well.

An ambulance driver asked Hailey and Ben if they wanted to ride with their brother.

"I hope you find your dad, guys," Hailey said, before climbing into the ambulance.

Sam and I stood next to Dean and watched them drive off.

"You know we're gonna find dad, right." Dean told us. I nodded, still not wanting to talk about dad.

"Ya, I know, but, in the meantime, I get to drive," Sams stated. I glanced between the boys, wanting to know what would happen next.

Shockingly, Dean pulled his keys out and tossed him over to Sam. I gasped over dramatically.

"I don't even want to hear it," Dean said, getting in the passenger side.

I giggle before getting in the backseat.

I couldn't help but wonder where we would be headed next.
